We can all just proudly say that Abi's our friend. She's such a light to us all 💕 Thanking God, for giving us an absolute loving, kind and honest friend. She is god gifted 🥲 Your videos are so cozy, loving, peaceful, and calming 🌼
Hey Abi! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos, they help so much and are so inspiring! I noticed a few other people commented about this too but it would be so helpful if you did a playlist of video tutorials for beginners! I would love to see this process of putting your design into a mock-up be slowed down into a step by step tutorial for those trying to get started! It gets a little confusing sometimes when you don’t know all the tools and tips throughout each part so it would really help! Your videos are so enjoyable though so thank you for bringing so much life into the process!

Im so happy and feel much more motivated now that I know about your channel. Cant wait to start learning more and more, such a sweet soul!!
I can't sleep without watching your videoooooo. Even If I am tired as hell first always you. Struggle with mockups always because I get confused about how to put the design in such a way that it looks good. Thank you always for motivating, inspiring, and helping us.❤🥺
I love how you went into depth with what to click on and such. I have never used Adobe Illustrator, do you think you would be able to make some more videos for us beginners fresh and new to the game? :D As well as shortcuts and tips to help save time for beginners when designing.
Glad it was helpful!😊 Yes of course I will, sometimes i find it tricky because i want to appeal to my whole audience so a video does well, but I have designers at all different stages in their career tune in! I'm thinking about bringing out a mini Illustrator course in the future! 😊
In illustrator how do I keep illustrations from leaking out of the work box? I have some color overlapping the work border and I can’t ever seem to know how to erase the edges
Can you do a Illustrator Basics video/course please!! That would help so much!! 😩🙌🏽⚡️. Also a shortcut to save the edit without needing to press the x is CMD + S (Save) 💕
Yes this is something I need to do more of, it's difficult sometimes trying to balance videos between newbies but also being useful to freelancers, and designers who've been in the industry for years! But yes I will for sure make a mini course on Illustrator in the future! Appreciate it, thank you! 😊💛
Hiii, I love all your videos and I've learned so much from you! Thank you 💕 I'm currently studying to become a graphic designer, and I have a hard time figuring out which settings to use to make a product print ready. Is this something you could maybe make a video about? 💕
Thanks for this video Abi❤ Appreciate that tip you added to make your own mockup. Will definitely come handy. In continuation of the video, can you please also explain how to create and send print ready files in any of your future videos? Basically the different color modes and how to navigate between them. That would be very helpful as well❤ Sorry, if this sounds like a stupid request🤭🙏
Can I be a bit more demanding, please?🥺😅 I would reallllyy appreciate a video talking about fonts and their licensing. Like when does the client actually needs the license? How to provide them the files? And yada yada yada.... I would be very grateful Abi, if you make one about this topic🙌
I love these!! I’m actually currently working on a course right now that will go through the whole client and design process that will go into detail about all of these things!! Keep your eyes peeled over the next few months 🧡
Hi Abi! Such a great video that was super informative for people like me who are just starting to explore the mock up world! I'm wondering what happens at the end of this process and when its time to hand the files over to the client. Say you are briefed to design a logo and a few other branding assets and then present them all together on a mockup, is it common practice to just design the branding elements/identity and hand those over for the client to then use on their products, for example, the juice pouch, or do you find that after clients see the mockups they want you to design the juice pouch in its entirety in a file that they can send away for print or manufacturing. If so, I'm wondering how you'd go about this as a mock up is just a mock up, manufacturing the juice pouch would require specifications around measurements, die lines etc to make the file ready to print. As an outsourced freelancer/contractor do you take on that depth of work or just focus on handing over the brand identity for the client to do what they wish with?
Hi ! Thank you so much for all your videos, really love it and watch it several times 😍😍 I was wondering how you duplicate mockups ?? I don't get it just by watching the screen 🥺

Hi Abi, Thank you for your great TH-cam Channel and for putting so much information out there for free! I just had a quick question, if your putting mock ups in your brand presentation to show how the brand could be used and to upsell- How do you communicate to your clients that this isn't a finished design and that they would need to pay for it to be 'properly' designed? Hope that makes sense!
No problem, I'm glad I can be of help! I appreciate your kind words 😊So what I do in the brand prestation is have a page before the mock ups that state the mock ups are just to showcase the brand in action & it's not a real representation of packaging design. In terms of them knowing they would have to pay extra for packaging design this would be stated at the brand proposal stage when you list what services you are doing for them. Hope this helps 😊
@@abiconnick Thanks Abi for your quick reply! Yes that's super helpful! I have always been reluctant to do a lot of mock ups incase they then thought that they didn't need to pay for this in the future, feeling like I can be more confident with this now.
Hey Abi, I absolutely love these videos. I seem to be having problems with the legibility of my fonts when I use mock-ups. For example if I was to get a mac book mock-up my logos aren’t legible at all, what could I do to fix it as I was told to stop stretching out my logo design so I’m not sure of what to do next
Hey! I’m glad you’ve been enjoying them 😊 I personally always drag and drop a vector rather than a png of the logo. My logo artboards are usually set up to be 1080px by 1080px. If you’re using a vector, it’s limitless in terms of scale so I’d recommend increasing the size of it in illustrator, and dragging and dropping to photoshop! Hope this helps!
@@abiconnick hey Abi, thanks so much for your response. As I’m new to design I’m not too sure what this means. I tried using the image trace for a text logo but it doesn’t work does this mean my text is already vectorized since I have outlined it?
Will note it down! I do have this video: th-cam.com/video/X6HVFziwAKM/w-d-xo.html which goes over patterns but not for a brand, I will get a video done on it in the future! 😊
Whenever I double click the “insert artwork here” layer I just get the Layers Window popping up (the window where you can change blending modes/colours/embossing etc) - what am I doing wrong? How do I insert my own artwork?
Thank you Abi for this video! Do you however, delete the generic design that comes with the template when you have placed yours on top of it? Asking because i didn't notice in the video that you did that.
Thank you 😊 So nice of you! So I use font's from Envato for client projects yes, but when sending over the end files I will let them know they have to purchase the font for commercial use from somewhere that allows you to buy individual fonts e.g creative market.😊
Hi Abi! When I downloaded the mock up files, they were set to automatically open in Adobe Illustrator instead of Photoshop. Whenever I try to drag the file to the Photoshop icon, it still doesn't work. :-( I badly need your help!
Hey 👋 This is odd! It might have something to do with your computer preferences and your default program to open up these sort of files. Are you sure it's a PSD file? Also have you tried right clicking on the file and pressing open with, then choosing Photoshop?
ah good questions! Yes I would personally still include them in the brand presentation as it gives the client a chance to see the branding in action. Also like I mention in the video it gives you the potential to upsell some of your services e.g package design to your clients. 😊
Hey Abi, love your content so much!! Question for you, if you’re doing mockups for food products that need to have a nutrition label, how do you go about incorporating that into the mock-up/design? Or is that not necessary?
Appreciate it, thank you! 😊So if the mock up is just to show the client how the packaging will look then the exact info doesn't need to be included but you could use mock text to show where it would be placed. But your client should provide you with all the information you need to put on the packaging. This video here might help as it was a drinks company: th-cam.com/video/L5jOi9und4Q/w-d-xo.html Also I'm in the process of creating a video about this topic so be on the look out! 😊
