- England have been beaten in the Euros final by a dazzling Spain team. Spain 2-1 England was a flattering scoreline for England who were second best throughout. Cole Palmer's equaliser was not enough for Gareth Southgate's men to find a way and sadly in Berlin England lost out second consecutive European Championship final.

Argubaly a greater achievement as in 08, 10, 12 they had an unbelievable team. This euros they were missing Pedri & Rodri for final and beat: Italy, Croatia, Georgia, Albania, Germany, France, England. They won it with the hardest route possible and with only 5/6th best squad. First team to win all 7 games. It’s a much bigger picture than just beating England

Nah. Two different matches. We beat the dutch with our best half of football in 2 years. Set up to win. Southgate reverted to type against Spain. Played an injured Kane AGAIN. We got to 1-1 through a miracle goal and what does Southgate do, preps Gallagher and Trippier to come on.

Time for realism: the only - and truly only - reason England even got to the final was because of insane levels of luck: luck with the worst group of the entire tournament, luck with the easiest road to the final in history, luck with your dogshit VARs sabotaging key opponents games, luck with your last minute goals, luck with highly questionable penalties, hell, even luck with injuries for Spains best player during the final.
Take off the luck goggles and you see the reality of the situation: this team played horrible, boring football with zero tactics, underachieving at every opportunity. It's truly embarrassing.

I agree with most of what you said. But I don't think Rodri's injury was benefical for England. England prepared a game for stopping Rodri and once Rodri wasn't on the pitch they didn't know what to do.

Harry Kane is SELFISH for playing through injury. FFS we were essentially playing with 10 men all tournament. He also kept a player in Ollie Watkins who can run in behind and who had 32 goal contributions in the EPL on the bench. I also don't give a damn about Kane's 40+ goals with Bayern, considering the amount of quality service he has on his team and he is also playing in a weaker league than the premier league. He is the most overrated player of all time and has no silverware to show for it. Oftentimes, teams he has played for look better when he isn't playing. Ie. Spurs 2019 UCL campaign. If Southgate and Kane are out, England will be Champions in 2026.
Also the fact that Jude Bellingham spent the majority of the match on the left handside does my absolute head in. Anthony Gordon was rotting on the bench all TOURNAMENT. Why was Southgate so reluctant to play Gordon. WHY did Phil Foden play a full 90 minutes when he was offering NOTHING ALL TOURNAMENT. How did Cole Palmer not get a single start in this tournament. Serious questions need to be asked and for the obvious favoritsm shown to certain players and the absolute waste of brilliant talents like Palmer, Gordon and Watkins who spent the majority of this tournament sitting on the sidelines when we were playing CRAP football.

Southgate did a good job of steadying the ship when he took over but if England have ambitions of winning a major trophy, he isn't the man. He doesn't have what it takes to coach a team that dominates other teams. Under southgate, England will always perform 2nd best against any big team.

Since 2018 and until this Euros, they had failed to make it past the group stage of a major tournament, apart from that game with England. And this year's Netherlands team was decent, but they're just coming out of a transition of their own. Before this Euros, they had only ever reached the quarter-finals of a major tournament once since 2016.

The idea that this Euros (as impressive as it was) is a greater achievement than Spain winning 3 international trophies in a row including the WC during which they were dominant, is yet another laughable take from this clown.
It’s also largely insulting, Spain have won 4 Euros, they’re a bigger footballing nation than England, this is standard for them and far from their biggest achievement as a nation.

Southgate was always out of his depth. Georgia had the same possession percent against Spain as England vs Spain. Spains players grabbed and wen every england player that had the ball. Our players gave Spain too much space, didn't go man to man. We were poor. No movement off the ball or runs in behind. Spain deserved winners. We need a manager that can get us over the line and plays attractive attacking football.

Kane cannot start games any more. I think he should probably still go to the world cup. He is a leader. He would be a great sub. Great for a penalty shootout. But he cannot consistently start games for England anymore. Watkins or Toney both would have provided way more runs and energy/work rate. Spain whole-heartedly deserved that win yesterday and were the better team... yet England had a chance. Once again, past the 80th minute, they equalized, and for about 3-4 minutes, the Spain team looked rattled. England had the chance to steal a win from underneath their nose, yet instead of playing aggressive and going for a win in regulation, Southgate went right back to passive, defensive ball; almost like he wanted to just stall until penalties, and the Spanish team ceased their opportunity. It's a real shame for certain individuals who laid it all out there, but England & Southgate did not deserve this win. Hopefully this talented side can turn it around in time for the World Cup.
That England squad would have got the same results if the FA had told southgate to stay at home.

Honestly as a Liverpool fan if he would do it I would hope that if Gareth leaves the FA will approach Klopp.
Gareth was the highest paid manager in the Euros so we know in regards to the FA money isn't a problem.
We also know that talent is definitely not the problem either.
When Klopp took over at Liverpool you felt the sense of quality in his managerial style amd he truly got the best out of players who weren't expensive amd new amd others like Salah who wasn't necessarily performing well with Chelsea and now look at him he is one of the most renowned goalscorer for the club and I would say is a top tier finisher in the Premier league and isn't even a striker.
Klopp would be huge but he left the sport for his family not because he failed. I would think that the quality of players this England side has would have most managers eager to take on, but we need a new set of hands with a focus on positive football rather than this negative style of football of sitting back and defending and then attempting to capitalize on the counter.
If we are going to stick with a negative style then a manager proficient in the roll like José Mourinho would be a better choice in my opinion.

To be fair not taking a left back that was fit wasn't a good call but it didn't cost us. We got to the final and Luke Shaw returned and played well in that match. It's not the same as forcing one of Bellingham or Foden to play on the left. Play Gordon, try Palmer or play the box midfield that worked in the one match he played and then never used again. Kane not being dropped was another big mistake, not seeing Walker can't delivery into the box on his 100 overlaps is a even bigger one
