I have a 2017 200t F Sport, just had it serviced and now I'm experiencing a fake induction noise when it's in normal or sport mode. Anyone else experience this or know how to turn it off?
It's complicated. With so many things being variable, ie 2 injection modes, 2 combustion modes, the vvtiw, etc, making a change in one spot can effect things in other places. Most specifically the tunes the ecu uses from the factory. It's got to be able to compensate for everything that can change on the motor. Something as simple as a smoother intake pipe, high flow air filter and slightly different position of the mass air sensor can cause the car to need a different tune to be able to run as intended. Most newer cars these days almost certainly need a new tune to take advantage of any upgrades that are done to them.
Direct injectors leak. Exhaust valves leak. With the government mandating manufacturers make more fuel efficient vehicles, they are making smaller engines with forced induction (turbo, supercharger, or having both)!It is not just Lexus. It is all manufacturers but others may have carbon build up on valves or pistons that will cause misfires.

Toyota has direct injection right. the conventional injection washes the valves from direct injection carbon build up. Best of both worlds.

Is this really a reliable and daily driver car now in 2022 with gas prices here in California. What are the big issue on this model if any?
