This is the lovely Mark Hayes arrangement. The Ancora Chorale video was accompanied by the arranger, and is very slow - almost two minutes longer than this one, which amazingly becomes beautiful and not sad. It is wonderful to listen to many different interpretations of music and come away with a new experience each time.

Once out of the classroom or speaking engagement I just can’t launch into the subject any more. Still it makes me happy to see the kindness on the part of most of you and I’m glad the church is a home for you. ❤️
I was raised a Catholic as well...then I repented of my sins and received Jesus Christ as my personal Lord & Savior believing that He was crucified, died and was buried and He rose on the 3rd....but this song has always been my favorite
David can you tell me what key they are singing in? I'm playing this for a soloist to sing at a funeral this Sunday and he just texted me that he felt this was a better key for him. I have the the Michael Joncas arrangement in the key of D.
I always looked forward to sing this lovely hymn at mass. I always tear up.

I agree! Sometimes this song is taken way too slow. It gives it too somber of an undertone when done slowly.
