thx for the video...you are the best..specific and goodwill...akala ko day off ka dahil sa holidays... anyway thx for everything... may you and your family be blessed this holiday...
+jirojoseph esman Welcome!! Oh there is no dayoff for me, and that is fine. I try to help as much people as I can. I am thankful for you always watching my videos and giving positive comments. Merry Christmas to you and the family.
be sure to take the brake fluid reservoir cap off first. when you compress the caliper the fluid needs somewhere to go. otherwise will blow your master cylinder seal.
Thank you so much. What is bleeding needed for exactly? What makes them need to be bled? Sorry for the questions, I figure if I can save some money doing small repairs on my vehicle, and learn a little bit too why not ya know. Thanks for your time.
If air gets in the line or a seal becomes unseated. If you take that reservoir filler cap off it relieves the back pressure so no seals are compromised.
On my 2010 Corolla, I found one of the brake piston's dust boot has a cut. It looks kind of tricky to replace the dust boots, so I don't mind paying a mechanic to do it. Do you think most mechanics know how to replace piston's dust boot? I actually have more confidence in just replacing a caliper myself, but read that I should replace both calipers together. Also, are after market calipers OK? Do you have a recommendation on what I should do? Thanks.
The receipt shows he bought Duralast Gold brake pads, so he probably was demonstrating on the old pads because they were the only examples of OEM. This is the only reason I could think of.
Hey Fix It Angel. I just want to know and make sure I did them correctly for the customer when I am doing brake services. Did you make fast cut or slow cut on the rotors? Someone always tell me to do fast cut first then a slow cut. Which one is corrected? I have been working for Toyota almost 5 years. But I dont know which one is the proper way is correct? Can you tell me which one?
hi, when you do a fast cut first. it will ruin the the inserts quicker. time is money that is why they tell you fast cut first. that is what my foreman told me also to do first. so do second cut slow. my lathe has only one speed. it's an old lathe that's why. but it still cuts good.
hi good evening... the silicone paste Napa has it ..its like 32-33$ each can I use ceramic extreme by permatex or get the silicone paste instead? how about any recommendations...on a budget....thx ..sori its late...
My 2007 Corolla did replacement pads from AutoZone did not have the notched pad and had some other type of shim than what you show in this video. Is this normal?
Flo Anicete Anicete yes it’s ok. I would not have uploaded this video if there was something wrong. I didn’t forget, I choose not to install it. There is nothing wrong with the old hardware. Aftermarket hardware doesn’t fit right from my experience.
Don't paint anti-seize on the hub!! The factory doesn't and neither should you. The hub spins and will fling any squeeze out all over, including on your newly turned rotors. Also, 99.9% of the time you don't need to use a bolt to get the rotor off. A couple of **gentle** wacks with a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer almost always pops it free.
Ok Sir bahhumbucker, let's see a video to do it the "right way". Obviously you say my way is wrong. Besides, the hub is rusty. What?? You ain't going to put anything on it?? Rust build-up can cause vibration. Did you know that? And don't give me that, "gentle wacks" on the rotor. Get real. Do you live where there is no atmospheric moisture, like in an oven? Also show me a video of all that grease on a rotor and what problem it caused. Let's see it. Oh wait a minute, I don't see anything on your channel. I have have no problems whatsoever what i did to that rusty hub. Why else would they put those threaded holes? All talk and no action. I will be waiting for that video. Need I say more??
The proper way to do it (on the factory) to deposit a layer of dichromate on the hub or to make hub from a rust resistant alloy steel. neither practice is used nowadays so we have to live with chronic front rotor runout or purchase vintage high end car P:)
What size thread is the bolt you used to pull the rotor from the hub at 2:10?
Bill Murphy I need to know too.
@@Brently I think it is a 7mm thread. i found one laying around my shop.
Aside from the helpful instructional vid..that Guam flag tho got you another subscriber. Si Yu’us Maase’ Che’lu! 👌🏼
I think I can do the part 3:23-3:26 confidently.
I tried and failed, using the selfie cam instead... This is too hard, dude.
5:40 - 5:50 for me. (Remove spring thing and shoot it across the room or outside. Then clean up and make another trip to the parts store.)

You sir, earned a subscriber.
+MrTechElite Thank you!! Please share. Have a nice day.
Absolutely exactly what I needed out of a video. Nice bike in the back brotha
EXCELLENT VIDEO AS USUAL! THE BLUE CORDLESS IMPACT YOU USED IN THIS VIDEO, WHAT MODEL# AND SIZE IS IT?
+BEEKEEPER Hello and thank you, that is a 3/8" drive BluePoint Cordless Impact, No. ETB14438A, with 140 ft./lbs. of torque
Thanks for this video, i am doing this job on Sunday.
Top shelf video. Thanks
be sure to take the brake fluid reservoir cap off first. when you compress the caliper the fluid needs somewhere to go. otherwise will blow your master cylinder seal.
My dad said something like this too. He said you have to bleed the breaks? And are you talking about the reservoir cap under the hood?
Yes, on the master cylinder. I have done many people's brakes and have rarely needed to bleed theme.
Thank you so much. What is bleeding needed for exactly? What makes them need to be bled? Sorry for the questions, I figure if I can save some money doing small repairs on my vehicle, and learn a little bit too why not ya know. Thanks for your time.

Mark Billingsley I kinda figured it had something to do with pressure and air in the lines. you've been a huge help thank you.
Is it neccessary to have the metric bolt to take the rotor off?
I love hearing the voices of your helpers! Just like when I work on my matrix!
I like the randomness of showing the receipt lol.
And the time-lapsed sky!
Great video. good use of never seize on face to make it easier for disc removal next time.
Should it be better using Copper Grease on Disc ? Thanks.
subscribed because of the Guam Flag in the garage.
Very helpful!
Nice video! Though I think you forgot to show the part where you push the caliper back in to fit the new thicker brake pads.....
so you need the the metric bolt to take the rotor off,so when I put it back on do I just place it on there?
On my 2010 Corolla, I found one of the brake piston's dust boot has a cut. It looks kind of tricky to replace the dust boots, so I don't mind paying a mechanic to do it. Thanks man!!! But why did you put the grease on the old brake.
The receipt shows he bought Duralast Gold brake pads, so he probably was demonstrating on the old pads because they were the only examples of OEM. This is the only reason I could think of.
Excellent Video. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
+Anthony Ho Ho Ho Thank you!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Please share and subscribe.
Great video. The only thing missing was the torque settings.. Thanks.

😱 The searches begins 😂😂😂😂😂
What size the metric bolt?
Great question Haidar! Care to share with us Fix It Angel?
it's a common metric bolt. M8-1.25
Fix It Angel thank you!!!
My 2007 Corolla did replacement pads from AutoZone did not have the notched pad and had some other type of shim than what you show in this video. Is this normal?
Hi Tony, then they gave you the wrong pads. Bring the old pads so they can match it. They always get parts wrong.
Forgot to put the break pads clips on both ends of the new pads. Is that okay? Pls. Responce.
Flo Anicete Anicete yes it’s ok. I would not have uploaded this video if there was something wrong.
I didn’t forget, I choose not to install it. There is nothing wrong with the old hardware.
Aftermarket hardware doesn’t fit right from my experience.
Fix It Angel those little metal clips you put on the new pads. Those are the ones I was talking that I didn’t put. Was I right?
Thanks u sir 👍
are the 2015 corolla brakes pretty much the same
russkaine yes I think they are the same.
Fix It Angel thank you
so simple, just gotta own a 2 grand brake lathe
Nice bro!
Thanks for the video! Great job! Would like to know the size of the bolt to remove the rotor! You have a Subscribe from me!
bro.. where is your shop located ?
In his garage
Clean the sitting guide of brakepad even if new or old that one thing make some brakenoise
'metric bolt' - apparently metric bolts only come in one size....so just grab any ol metric bolt and it'll be fine lol
no lubrication!!!!!????????
Cool,
Random sky and receipt shots. Fast edits and fast forwards. You're like a frustrated weird indie movies director.
amfe52 at least it ain’t boring
Good work..
Wear gloves for your safety..😊
Don't use an impact on the metric bolt. Get a ratchet.
jeanphilippe dugas ok thank you. Do you have videos to show how you do it? I like to learn from others too.
Which metric bolt? They are all metric lol
Angel does't clean parts? Hmmm......Naw, why they'll just just get dirty again
Call me old fashioned, but I'm gonna buy new rotors.
Don't paint anti-seize on the hub!! The factory doesn't and neither should you. The hub spins and will fling any squeeze out all over, including on your newly turned rotors. Too bad you're too insecure to take some tips from someone that has been in the industry and is trying to help you do a better job.
Yeah i don't know about the anti-seize. Does it work its way onto the friction surface with heat and centripetal force??
The proper way to do it (on the factory) to deposit a layer of dichromate on the hub or to make hub from a rust resistant alloy steel. neither practice is used nowadays so we have to live with chronic front rotor runout or purchase vintage high end car P:)
"simple"... yeah right! maybe when you have years of experience AND all the equipment you have
Totally wrong way to do that! you tube mechanics, i swear!
"simple"LOL
Which way did u turn the bolt to remove brake house from rotor
