    Any money that people invest in their front yard pays off. Even if people just cut their grass regularly, edge and create some mulched beds to soften the hard lines around their property, it looks 100% better, so anything more than a homeowner does pay off. Great job here, I am sure that the homeowners loved this. I wouldn't have widened the driveway that much, or if I did, I would have used permeable pavers. Just an environmentalist at heart....

    I love this design! Especially the columns near the street and landscaping around the boulders. The columns highlight the veneered front part of the house and actually makes that more appealing to me. Can’t wait to see more videos!

    Good design. I'd certainly plan some access to the lawn so the plants aren't ruined by traffic from hoses, mowers, kids and dogs.

    Hi from London again Bobby 👋😊 Please excuse the novel below. Also excuse typos, spelling punctuation....
    I'm disabled and it's hard to put a message together sometimes✌️😊
    What a gorgeous job you've done as usual. It looks so inviting. It was brilliant to learn about balance so thank you. When you mentioned balance I thought of course why have I never thought of the that way for my outside spaces. Then u mentioned chosing 3 colours like I learnt in interior design, Feng shui etc... I realised it's the same concept or at least closely related.
    Bobby I am mad into Feng Shui and the likes and find all of your work, ideas, tips, creations and designs are like mirrors of the Feng Shui guidelines and teachings. You make an outside space look and feel like it's such a positive place to be where you can let go of all your worries and to do lists and just enjoy. Your designs always look happy, balanced, safe, calm, spacious and like a magnet to go out to and really want to use. There is never a broken or damaged part covered up, a shelf left to put later and so on. If there was work left to do like in most designs, I would know it's still there, hidden and waiting for my attention and would think about it and every time I'd look at that area.
    Yours always end up superinviting, fun and relaxing spaces that you can look at, take a deep breath of relief and let go of worries about work to be done to finish that project. Just to enjoy the whole area, and know every time you see that space you have nothing left to do and no stone has been left unturned.
    I wish you could help me with my new garden 🥺🤔As I said I'm disabled and have to be careful going out there but need to connect with nature daily day and to exercise out there and oh I just love garden design (on a light budget) nd planning. My problem is all my little kawn bd beds are sloped too much for me to enjoy safely and I have no idea how to put it together. Garden design on a sloped lawn is a nightmare so I keep having to stop and learn more.
    Please pop over to London with your crew and sort my forever home outside space out for me Bobby. I make a good cup of tea and always have biscuits in for the workers 😆
    Thank you for all you give and what you teach us/me. It's helping me plan a bit better.
    Love your videos, can't wait for your 1st book. You're an absolute genius. Best wishes for Independence day. Hope to see you all soon. Ella M 🤞☺️

      @BobbyKDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Ellanora Mayfair. What a heartfelt, warm comment! I am truly humbled and greatly appreciate it! Slopes can be tricky for sure, especially if you are disabled. Retaining walls and steps are not always the solution as people need to be able to comfortably get around if stairs are not an option. This is where grading and gradual pathways are key. I greatly appreciate the cup of tea/biscuits offer!!! :). Sounds delicious! Stay tuned as I think you'll continue to get some ideas for your space in upcoming videos that may be what you need to give you the yard of your dreams. Thank you and God bless!

    How do you use the added drive space to the right elevation? It appears that the columns block usage based on the position of the existing autos.

    • @BobbyKDesigns
      @BobbyKDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @barbash1 it’s intended for extra parking for when they have people over. You pull in and park. The only downside is once the other cars park you would be blocked in.

    I absolutely love your work! I am currently attempting to copy one of your front yard designs. Question: I noticed that often your groupings of shrubs and plants are not in odd numbers, which I've been taught in the home decor world, they are supposed to be. Perhaps even numbered groupings make it more symmetrical? Can you explain?

    • @BobbyKDesigns
      @BobbyKDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Amy D. Great observation! Yes, I prefer odd numbers. However, when it comes to balancing out spaces and creating symmetry even is 10000% ok. There is no right or wrong way. Whatever you like/feel, that's the right direction. *Took a page from my hero Bob Ross there!

    It looks beautiful, but I would move the entry columns a little away from the driveway edge. Why? You said this was in NY. They get crazy snow and someone is going to hit a column backing out or coming in. If they were moved over and plants on the driveway side, it would be easier to replace plants than a column or fix damage to the car. How are they going to park in that extended cement pad? You need to make a pull in from the street.

    • @BobbyKDesigns
      @BobbyKDesigns  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Judy. This comment makes sense but it was a client request. I like how it looks BUT if we have some bad drivers I could see the columns not working out. :(

    Your design is beautiful, but I am a little confused. The driveway was widened for more cars, but the cars will be blocked with the bolder and posts. How will they come and go without others having to move their cars?

    • @BobbyKDesigns
      @BobbyKDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @C Bryce. The client had requested more of a "parking pad" for when they entertain. Cars would have to be moved in order to get out so if you aren't a fan the solution would be to widen the driveway the entire width.

      Hey April!!! Thank you for watching!! Lots of options BUT that also depends on your style, architecture of your home, and your budget. My favorite type of video! Absolutely agreed that landscaping adds curb appeal. Make a great first impressions for your guests or even strangers driving by. And absolutely agreed it adds to the overall value of the house. I actually think if your body is able, planting flowers and trees can be DIY but it helps to have a plan and that’s when you need a designer to plan the layout. I have many questions:
    1. Is there a free version of the software that you are using?
    2. Will you some day give a loyal subbie a quick free consultation if we provide you with a photo of the front house? ;-)

    Great video! I have a cement wheelchair ramp with a white railing ( where the sidewalk use to be )that runs 3/4ths of the way in front of our small brick ranch home and up to our porch. It was put in a few years ago and I have no idea how to landscape in front of it!! I thought about making a round flowerbed in front of it and include tall grasses in the back by the railings and layer smaller grasses in front of them, with a little color toward the front of the bed. Not much of a budget to work with but any of your suggestions would be great ! Watching your videos has helped me a ton in other areas of my yard😊

    I would love to do some work like this on my front yard. Do you have suggestions for how to do the columns at the end of the drive if your house doesn't have any stone to match? My house is wood and hardie plank.

    • @BobbyKDesigns
      @BobbyKDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Courtney F. Yes! Play off the colors of your house and choose materials that go with that. Ex. Wood home would go well with earth tone blocks vs. white or gray

  • @BeaufieldsNZ
    @BeaufieldsNZ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ok great design, love that you widened the driveway... however it would drive me crazy each time I drove in and had to park on the right hand side.. I would always be dodging the column, in fact it would annoy be so much I would drive into it to knock it down), the column should of been put on the edge over by the plants (trees) so one could drive straight in and back out). While what you have looks awesome, function is paramount!.

    • @BobbyKDesigns
      @BobbyKDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @BeaufieldNZ I love this comment! It definitely made me laugh and I can completely understand where you’re coming from. I’m a pretty big stickler for making an entrance so that’s why I like where the columns are as far as making a statement. However, I can understand if someone isn’t careful or forgets they can definitely hit the column. Thank you for watching and the comment!

    It's beautiful, but why wouldn't you bring the extra concrete all the way down to the sidewalk to make room for cars to park & pull into the driveway without trying to manuever around the column to park? Then, you wouldn't need to do any landscaping to that side of the house & i would think the cost would be around the same.

    • @BobbyKDesigns
      @BobbyKDesigns  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The columns are hit or miss. I agree they look good but they can be hit from drivers who don't pay attention. The concrete can be expanded but always check your local guidelines as permits are needed,
