Holy puppies! Your parents could run a petting zoo with all those doggies! I’m glad you guys are ok. I live in Canada and was so surprised of all the damage down in Texas. I didn’t realize that our houses up here are built so differently to survive the winters.
Natalie vanderheyden I agree with the puppies they're so cute they don't usually ever get snow in Texas that was a fluke and I have a friend that lives in Mississippi now they've got 7 in of snow and it never snows there either
I wish you would be able to bring in Drew from Lonefox and collab in your house, that would be the dream :D maybe a room makeover together, how fun would that be?
I'm over here in Canada snow to my knees thinking you are just adorable. Not minimizing the damage or what you've been through just noticing the differences. It was really neat to see the desert plants that don't grow in our climate covered in ice and snow.
Most of us have no problem with the snow. It was the fact that our homes are not designed for the cold along with unexpected and prolonged loss of power (some people were out of power all week, not lucky enough to have just rolling outages) and water (again, we had no water all week) that hurt people and caused at least 50 deaths (and counting). Glad you think it's "adorable" though.
@@Krys10Joy Problem with the snow... that's just the opposite of what I found so cute. her positivity and light is very nice. We also have wicked storms, damage, power outages, no water people get stranded in the cold and people do get hurt and even killed here. We keep winter gear in our cars we keep emergency items and when a storm comes we are running around filling our tubs and sinks and getting flashlights and candles. Yes our houses are designed more to withstand these elements. Yes during this storm in Texas I was thinking about the people there. Yes I was worried about my family there... but yes I did find MaCenna very adorable... She is one of my favs and I love her happiness and excitement for life especially how positive she is in a less than wonderful situation. Playing with the dogs in the snow like it's a treat that isn't available all winter long and being excited and amazed by the beauty of the ice that we here in Canada are all so very used to. It's refreshing and adorable to see a grown woman so positive riding out the storm. I too am a bubbly positive person so my light hearted comment came from a place of choosing to look at the positive and not the hurt and loss.
@@jenniviiv I agree, I don't think she meant any harm, we all know how hard things are in Texas right now. We hear it on the news. I am also from Canada and have friends in Texas, we only want to help, if you are on Tictok you can see there are lots of Texans thanking Canadians for there advice and support.
I've only been subscribed for a couple of months, and have jumped around a bit with your videos. It's crazy to see you running through the unrenovated cottage so happy everything is still ok, when I know how much you have to wreck it before it gets thoughtfully and beautifully transformed. That your estimated time line is off by a good year. That you are now also happily enjoying your new home and all the possibilities that lie ahead. And knowing that the cottage is still there waiting for your final touches. I've just really enjoyed the process.
My spouse also gives me a LOT of creative freedom when it comes to decorating 😂 Sometimes I’m really passionate about a weird design choice, and they’re not sure about it, but they’re always on board when they see the finished product. It’s my domain and my passion, and I’m confident in my vision.
What you were saying at around 20:25 shows what a charismatic personality you have :) that kind of mindset is probs why you are an amazing DIY-er, girlfriend to Romeo, and general human being !!
I’m glad you and your parents are okay. My heart goes out to all Texans❤️. We’re used to winter storms in Wisconsin, but clearly Texas is not. Hopefully it will all soon be just a bad memory. Love all the gorgeous dogs!! I ❤️ dogs. LOVE your videos. Stay stay hun. ❤️
So glad you guys are okay. We had rolling blackouts for 2 days then on day 3 (when it was literally 18 degrees), two huge trees fell and took out our power lines. It took about 26 hours for power to be restored BUT we're currently on day 6 without water. I am 100% over this whole winter thing.
Back when the derecho hit Iowa I didn’t have power for 8 days, house still isn’t back to normal 6 months later. Hope your recovery from the storm is quick!
My hubby told me that as long as I didn't paint everything purple and hang fringe off it I could do whatever I want with the house. You gotta love a guy like that!
That picture of the man praying in the background of the picture on the right is one of my favorites!! my grandma has had that FOREVER, I had never seen it anywhere till I was talkin car of the elderly in Oahu. that inspiration pic is only the third time ive ever seen it! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
In Arlington Texas we lost power for 57 hour straight, and 1 hour after it came back on we lost water. At one point our family room was only 32°😱❄❄❄❄ it was definitely an adventure. Thankfully we had done groceries on Thursday before the storm, and were able to stay warmish by making terracotta pot heaters. We would take the kids to warm up in the car every few hours. Fortunately my husband's bbq grill has a burner on the side so we were able to get soup and make eggs on it.
glad to hear everything is okaii, my son was born in Queens NY, graduated HS and went to college in Los Angeles, came back for a year and decided that NY was not for him and he now resides in Los Angeles and loves it.
I realize the situation in Texas was serious during this storm, but growing up and living in Wisconsin my whole life, it just cracks me up to see how novel snow is to people in the south. 😆 The coke bottles cracked me up. We legitimately use our garage to keep leftover pizza cold and the deck to keep beer cold in the winter. Which is about half the year. So 🤷🏻♀️😂
My hubby and I are Wisconsinites as well. We live in Texas now. We didn’t go anywhere during the snow storm bcuz we were afraid of the “other” drivers! LoL Seriously, Texas was not prepared for this storm, at all! I’m glad MaCenna and her family were safe!

I had a similar question to you, becuase just by watching your videos about the new house and all your plans, even I get overwhelmed! :D But it was such a good advice you gave, it will definitely help me in everyday life too! And thank God you are all okay in Texas!
One thing I love about you is how it seems that your parents have lots of money, but you don’t show it off and how your home and style isn’t “look I’m rich I’m a show off” I love your videos and can’t wait to see how this incredible project will turn out!❤️😀🥳

Glad you got thru that storm with your family. Wondering if you have considered moving the position of the house. Not just pushing it back. For bedroom views, a yard for children or entertaining, and a possible garden etc.. It gets hot in Texas. Looking forward to the process .
I’m just saying we’re going to need more dog content 😊 that’s what this world needs more of during these times! I LOVE labs and I would like to smoosh all their cute wittle faces ❤️❤️❤️

So glad that you all are doing well! 💓 We always make sure to have a full tank of gas in our vehicles before a winter storm, that way we can run our vehicle to get warm and charge batteries.
I love the way you talk about things and life! You’re kind, humble, always positive, honest (e.g. not wearing make up always), and obviously super creative 💕 My fav DIY guru you are!
I'm from Oklahoma and had to deal with the weather too. So thought about you and the cottage. Glad you got through ok. Thanks for the pics of the doggos! Huggs.
Your positive energy is contagious. Absolutely looooove watching you & oh can we just appreciate that little fluff ball of yours. Kinsley is the best part of it all!!!
Our house is near Austin. Our experience was the same as yours too. Luckily, we have a gas range stove so we were able to keep warm and cook. 🥶 We would love to take you up for a home renovation/decoration. Our house has your typical yellow beige walls and old decor from past relatives. I just can't imagine how beautiful it would look with your skills and decorating talents! 😍 definitely offers some challenges for example, our bathroom doesn't have any windows which means no natural lighting. I would love to hear some tips from you on how to renovate it to look more minimal and warm! 🥰 much love!
Happy to hear that you and you family are on the other side of this. Been sending prayers to everyone down in Texas. Question about the house. Will you have a basement once it's moved?
Seriously LOVE your main channel and vlog videos. One of my fav TH-camrs by far! Your channel and positive energy are such a pocket of peace to me during my stressful days.

I'm so excited for you and glad you and your family are safe and warm and hydrated. I'm glad your doing your house yourself it can be fun, you'll be tired but inside you know it's your work. As you mentioned it can be very expensive especially all the work that you'll be doing on your property. I love that your parents and Romeo will be there to help with Kingsley on the sidelines cheering you on. You're the type of person who makes a lot of lists which helps alleviate the feeling of being overwhelmed. Yeah, I can't wait to see everything when it's all done
I can’t wait until you all get started on your house. I’ll live vicariously through you. I love the cottage. I think you made the right decision. I moved almost two years ago. We bought land and a manufactured home. Which took forever. The permits are a pain in the behind. But we’re in our, way smaller, house in the country. And I love it. It’s a pain to get to a grocery store, or any store, and my doctors are all at least a half hour away. But it’s so quiet. And we have one neighbor, who is an older gentleman. So he doesn’t bother us. We do have a lot of feral cats and kittens who I have befriended. I feed them daily. So does our neighbor, they actually live on his land. But they don’t know that. I still wouldn’t change things for anything. I enjoy my privacy here. And I think you will too, when you get moved,
In 1998, we had an ice storm in Ontario and my town and surrounding area was out of power for close to 20 days! Will never forget it and you likely won’t forget your experience. Stay safe!
Oh my...I live in Canada and we know how to drive in snowy and icy road conditions. We also have snow/winter tires on our vehicles. Please stay safe. Wishing you and your family all the best.
I live in Oklahoma and we had record-breaking snow and extended COLD. Luckily, never lost our power but did have water issues. We filled up 5 jugs of water to be safe. We have water now but our town has a boil water order. We were 67 degrees yesterday and expected to be 70 today. That's 90 degrees higher than last week's low! Oklahoma has crazy weather but this was a whole other thing! I'm so sorry Texas was hit so bad but glad things are getting better. 💓
When I lost power here in San Antonio, I put my groceries in an outdoor cupboard because it was colder than my freezer. Your mom's house looks like a resort! I thought about you braving this freak storm! So glad you "thrived!" I am a native Californian so this weather was brutal.
Oh my goodness, I was watching a clip from a news station from Texas this storm might be the most costly due to busted pipes and water damage. So your dad definitely was a smart man to tell you to turn your pipes off.
Being from Iowa, we are used to alot of snow, ice and cold. We had no power for a week during the deratio in August (it was hot). I really feel bad for you, hopefully things will be back to "normal" soon.
What beautiful dogs! They look like seals with their big dark eyes. Of course Kingsley is stunning too! Oh! I spoke too soon...I see there are more lovely doggos!
Thanks for sharing with what your going through... weather, home and the Q & A. I was thinking that if you share with us things you are looking for, for your house(like a certain doorknob style) we, as in your subscribers might have the things/resources you’re looking for. Let us help you. It could be fun. Once again, thanks for sharing.❤️🙏🏼🥰
We were without power and water for about 72 hours... right outside of Houston (Santa Fe) were on a well system so no power automatically =no water for us... glad y’all are ok! 🙏
We had an ice storm in Ontario Canada that lasted a week. Everyone was without power. We are rural so we were without water and power for 13 days. Others fared worse. No biggie. We have a wood stove so we were able to cook on that. The worse thing was the sump pump had to be monitored and emptied. It couldn’t keep up with the volume of snow that was melting and the rain. We played board games and had fun as a family. We had a radio to keep updated with the news. Canadian weather.
I live in a suburb of Houston and we luckily were only without power for 24 hours. I was also under the weather that day so luckily I was bundled in layered clothes plus a couple of blankets and able to sleep. Glad y’all made it through ok too! Did you figure out about the tarp and tool boxes in the out building? Was it homeless trying to get warm or was there theft involved?
I live in south Texas. Out of power and water for 6 days. Even while all our neighbors got back their power we, along with 7 other neighbors on my block were out 3 extra days. This was a very strange storm. But we are #texasstrong
That looks so much like the ice storm we had in Washington 10 years ago. We had a tree outside our house exploded from the pressure of ice forming on the inside. I’m glad you are doing ok.
Glad all of you guys down south are doing ok!! Here in Alberta, Canada we had close to 3 weeks of Arctic freezing temperatures, some places close to minus 50 degrees!! Our average for February is about minus 10 degrees. Guess we all have to thank/blame that Polar Vortex!!
so glad to hear that you're all okay 😊 lots of cute fur babies, too! 😍 now, i'm excited for the -ber months this year since you confirmed that it'll all be decorating the cottage 😅 cat wait! 😍
So glad to hear you and your family are okay! I had no idea about being able to share battery from your computer/iPad to your phone. Was there an app you used? So great for an emergency. Thanks!
Am I the only one who dreads snow ❄️🥶 I really like it when it's falling and all pretty and then you realise oh crap I've got to go out in that! 🧣😰🌨️ Brrrr! Glad you are all ok though! ❤️
I hate snow. I don’t mind when it’s falling as long as it doesn’t stick. I’m from Arkansas so we pretty much shut down the town. We are still having water issues from this last storm.
As if two months is a long wait for you guys in the US. It’s normal to be anywhere from 4-7 months here. We had our offer accepted on a 120 year old cottage in England last Friday, we’re hoping to be in before September 😭 It’s similar to yours in the sense that everything needs redoing, so we’ll be deep in Reno’s in winter 🥶
Wow wow! I'm glad that you and your family are fine.. this storm was horrible! I'm in Oklahoma thank god we had power..but we had no hot water for 5days 😬 omg! I didnt know you plan on doing a pop up store I would love to meet you!! Looking forward to your next video.. Thank you. Have a beautiful day!! 😊❤❤❤❤

So glad you are okay! I loved the Q&A in this video - it really felt like catching up after such a crazy week. ❤️
So glad you and your family are okay and safe...great seeing your smiling face
I’m so glad that you and your family made it through that horrible storm. I absolutely loved your color choice for the bottom cabinets. Stay safe 🥰
Stay safe!
Wow what an experience. Im glad the weather is warming up for Texas!
Happy to hear you're well considering what you had to go through xx Sending love 💘
Happy that you and your family are safe. Thankfully the house is looking good. Sending warm good vibes to Texas!
So glad it made it with no damage just some down tree limbs! Thank you so much!!
I’m near Houston and we lost power for 4 days straight. Our pool even froze!
We were without power and water for about 72 hours... right outside of Houston (Santa Fe) were on a well system so no power automatically =no water for us... glad y’all are ok! 🙏
I already know her house is going to be AWESOME AND BEAUTIFUL 🤩💜🌸
Glad you are safe! Can't wait to see this house project along with you x
Glad you and your family came through this safe!
I read somewhere that failure is the first strap to success! Love your ethos and general view on life/work wish I could be more adventurous! Xx
I AM HERE FOR THE THRIVE UNBOXING. Keep em coming
I would love to meet you one of these days! So much energy! Stay Safe!
Thanks!
I can’t wait to see what you do with your home and cottage. Good luck 🤞. Xx
In January 2009, KY had an ice storm. We were without power for 11 days!! So, I feel ya girl!
Just love following you, happy to hear your family is safe. Keep up the great work.
So glad you’re ok! OH-MY-GOD! Those puppies are everything! Do they get along with Kinsley?
I am, we all are, so sorry for all of you. Meanwhile in Canada, Québec, we are having a very mild winter.
Go figure....
I'm so so glad you and your family is ok!!! (And the cottage, too!!)
All the doggies! 😱🤭 So many to cuddle! Lucky you!
That storm was crazy. I'm happy you guys are ok. Thank God for gas stoves! I can't wait to see what you do next to the house!
You deserve it all... your such a inspiration, sweet girl..❤
You can purchase all the vintage handles and things you want on eBay. The vintage reseller market on eBay is amazing.
Excited to look this video in the evening, your vlog channel is so underrated! But I have already read in the comments that everything is fine 😀 glad you are ok!
I have a yellow lab named Gracie too! We call her Gracie Lou. Such cute pups!
Meeting all the dogs was the best!
Aaaw all those gorgeous puppies, so cute!! 😍🐕🐶🦮🐕🦺
