In the 21st Century, mankind faced its greatest threat, The Omnic Crisis. The artificial beings known as Omnics were built to bolster manufacturing and stabilize the economy, but went rogue, mass-producing militarized models. To fight the Omnic threat, the United Nations created Overwatch, a peacekeeping task force of each nation's greatest heroes. Overwatch quickly ended the crisis.
But a question arose: Do Omnics deserve human rights? Conflict continued in many countries. Volskaya industries still battles rogue Omnics in Russia, the Australia Liberation Front destroyed the Omnic's down under but left the central lands irradiated. Only in the African nation of Numbani do humans and Omnics live together peacefully, making them a target of foreign hostility.
In the aftermath, Overwatch was accused of corruption, of no longer keeping the world safe. Overwatch headquarters was destroyed in a mysterious explosion, its leader and second in command were lost and Overwatch disbanded.
The world is still a dangerous place. You must bring together a team of heroes. Recruit former Overwatch members, heroes inspired by the former peacekeepers, or even hardened criminals as you fight to protect the people from the fallout of a 30 year old conflict.

Bastions and Dwarfmans are the bane of incompetent teams that just walk into streams of bullets.

Ironic. By pitching a fit about Tracer turning her back to the camera, those people essentially made her backside one of the things she's known for now. Oops.

+Ethan Wong Off how? It's not like there are established guidelines in place that people _have_ to follow that make it "okay" to make a character turn turn their back to the camera.
I know the argument is that it didn't match her personality, but what does that even mean? What personality is she "supposed" to have that makes it okay?
ReiAyanami8 It's not so much a matter of the pose _not matching_ her personality, but rather the pose _lacking_ personality altogether. It's a pretty boring, generic, bog-standard pose that fits almost any character. While it's certainly not bad, it's not quite good, either. Compare the replacement pose, which is dynamic, high-energy, and sort of a snapshot into the character herself. From that one pose, you can see she's spunky, fun, energetic, etc. What character traits do you see in the other one? Uhh... well... You could maybe say it shows she's snarky, but that's really it. Extra Credits did an amazing video on the subject, and I recommend you watch that.
Tl;dr the old pose wasn't bad, but the new one is better by far.
+ReiAyanami8 it's funny that people think that she should not be sexy because of her " personality" like she's meant to just be a one dimensional character who is asexual.
Personally I find that her being cheeky with her body makes her all the more interesting, I do think we should have some sexy male characters for the women though.
TheBritishGeek I have nothing against her being sexy. In fact, I'm all for it. I wasn't really _against_ the old pose either. I just like the new one _so much better_
I like to believe that Blizzard was always going to switch out that pose for the new one, but the one guy pointing it out just brought unnecessary attention to it.

@MetFanMac It's reminiscing of a trope. It's fairly usual to picture a good friendship or relationship in movies by putting two or more characters cheerfully playing or messing with each other while doing something. This example reminded me of the many times I've seen teens in movies washing a car and then ending up like this. It's supposed to draw a parallel, that friendship is beyond race.
Its a reference to Tracer's booty, remember the Tracer incident?

Pretty sure McCree was a former member of Overwatch, then proceeded to become a bounty hunter
He was a criminal turned Overwatch member turned vigilante
More specefically he was 'encouraged' by Reyes into Blackwatch, the spec-ops kinda evil division of Overwatch.
he disagreed with Reyes so he became a vigilante.
You got the leader and second-in-command backwards (if it was supposed to coincide with as they turned up on the screen).
Technically Reyes WAS the leader, but became the leader of Blackwatch instead, leaving the position open for the second-in-command (Morrison) to step up.
Davrial aka Blue Mario Kinda: Morrison was specifically appointed as the leader of Overwatch by the UN, and Reyes (embittered by this) became the leader of the covert ops Blackwatch unit after Overwatch founded it.
This is part of the reason Reyes turned on Overwatch and helped dismantle it from the inside - culminating in the battle that led to said explosion.

Ethan Djeric That was the underlying factor, but I think the story is that Blackwatch was doing a lot of shady shit under Reyes' command that led to it going into open hostilities at that fight.

Would be nice if this game had a campaign, since it has a story like that. Everything in Battleborn looks like Overwatch but done in an awful, sloppy manner. I don't know why, I really don't like Battleborn's art style.

+Youngster Joey Exactly, I enjoyed Borderlands, somewhat enjoyed borderlands 2 and then by the pre-sequel I was thinking, "God I'm sick of looking at the same art for three games now."
And then I saw Battleborn and realized Gearbox was trying their very best to beat the hell out of a dead horse. Which is a shame, really, because I appreciated their humor and storytelling.
Battleborn might have succeeded if it were actually free-to-play, and did the whole "pay for heroes and the right to be pretty" thing that LoL did.

A bit of a mistake. Russia isn't just *still* fighting the omnics, they won the ORIGINAL crisis themselves but then the rebots reactivated and started a NEW crisis only in Russia. Which is still going on.
Soldier 76 was the leader, not Reaper.
This is not true, they were both leaders at one point (reaper first) then Morrison, soldier 76, was promoted and reaper became the leader of Blackwatch.
Grant Shiels Okay, I checked the wiki a few weeks ago and it said that Soldier 76 was the leader, I guess it has been updated since then. My mistake.
Soldier 78 got leadership in Overwatch. Reaper becaome leader of a new unit called Blacwatch. Which in the comics, Mcree was part of Blackwatch

Yeah, they were both "super soldiers" and founding members of Overwatch. Reyes got salty when Morrison was promoted to Strike Commander and became this "white knight" people look up to, while he had to take on the Blackwatch and a bunch of mercenaries/outlaws (like McCree) to do the dirty jobs. The conflict eventually lead to them fighting each other to the death and exploded the Overwatch HQ. Reyes was likely rez'd by Mercy, but he became a half-dead ghoul known as Reaper. No explanation on how Morrison got out and became Soldier 76.

My main question is how/why the omnics went rogue? Did maybe Sombra hack them? Was it a malfunction? Or, (just a theory), did maybe someone other than Sombra hack them? For example, the person who noticed her in the animated short. The thing with the red eye? Dun dun duuuuuunnnn
Overwatch is just fighting each other they are not saving anyone.
Well, each of the maps do have a gameplay lore associated with them. Like King's Row, the attacking team is escorting an EMP into the Omnic populated underground. And in Watchpoint Gibraltar, the attacking team is trying to get a drone into space to re-establish Overwatch's communication network.
That fact has always made me wonder if they are going to write the story based around the most common outcomes on those maps or if there are clues in them as to the direction the story will go.

McCree is a former criminal rehabilitated by Overwatch and the ALF were a group of anti-omnic terrorists who destroyed the Australian Omnium after peace was declared, not a heroic military force as seems to be implied here.

Actually, they have a big storyline, it's just in supplementary material like online comics (which are free to read on the Overwatch website)

Like XCOM, except take out interesting creature designs and vast amounts of custamibility, give it a first person real time perspective, and add in a lot of character and charm.
also completely change the playstyle and make it require a completely different set of skills
But McCree isn't a hardened criminal tho. He was set up. He even states that they purposefully put blame on him, no matter whether he saves people or not in his comic.
