Transcript:
On a distant planet known as Gaia, an energy-manufacturing mega-corp known as Shin-Ra is super busy harvesting the life force of the planet for the big bucks. The Lifestream and products created with it have the ability to grant the wisdom of the ancients to the user, simultaneously bridging the gap between the planet and her people while also slowly killing the planet in general. Though blissfully aware of their impact, Shin-Ra continues to ruin everyone's lives and slowly, the metropolis of Midgar is little more than an expanse of slums and factories.
Besides pillaging and destroying Gaia from the inside-out, Shinra is also heavily invested in Mako energy's military applications, namely the Jenova project. President Shinra, realizing Gaia had a finite supply of Lifestream, became obsessed with the Cetra, a race of people who lived on Gaia long before humans. Cetra legend dictates the existence of 'The Promised Land' where Lifestream was nearly limitless, meaning bigger bucks! To reach The Promised Land, Shinra would need a Cetra, which they found in the Jenova excavation. Except Jenova was an alien well-versed in genocide. Oops.
Mistakenly believing Jenova was Cetra, President Shinra proceeds to combine Jenova cells, Mako energy, and a human host to create an elite military unit known as SOLDIER. This project results in the birth of Sephiroth, who later finds out genocidal tendencies are indeed hereditary.
Now as Cloud, a mercenary and self-proclaimed ex-member of SOLDIER, a seemingly simple mission may very well result in a series of events that change the planet for good.

But can't forget Cloud performs CPR and saves this one girl. He even catches, breeds, races Chocobo's. Goes into a coma, Rides a rocket into space, and tries to take the place of Zack... that prick!

This one made me laugh so hard. Everything just fit together so well, plus, things actually make sense, and watching this might actually clarify the VERY confusing FFVII story to some people, so kudos to you guys for being so awesome. :)

There needs to be a Legend of Dragoon lore video.
It takes depth and imagination to fully comprehend and understand most of the stories in the Final Fantasy games. The stories run extremely deep and have some of the most elegantly and masterfully done twists, turns, and tear jerking moments to ever grace the video game world.
Most 'FPS players' lack any of said traits needed to understand the stories, and instead play video games to block out the fact that they aren't smart enough to play a game like FF. That's why he asked, you seem the type.

tsk tsk tsk he had some stuff wrong and missed alot of important facts my guess he's just doing a quick recap which is the point of the vid lol
Those marble type things are called Materia they gave magic and other abilities such as Steal, Sense and other stuff. There is at least 5 types of it to help build your character to fight with ALL kinds of Combos, but there is two major Materia that are key items: The Black Materia which summons Meteor, and the White Materia which summons Holy. Now you know.
So basically FF7 was just a very convoluted save the trees and forest message.
Almost. But then you realise that using fossil fuels like coal is considered the 'good guy' alternative. *Everyone* is destroying the planet, Shinra just took it to a whole new level in creating reactors to essentially commit mass soul genocide.
But then you see that Sephiroth's trapped in a crystal at the end of the game, and forget all've it. Because apparently you've played the entire game, and have even less of a clue what's going on than when you started the damn thing.
ShinRa = Corporate fascism.
Every final fantasy is about saving the planet lol.....

How to play Everquest on any platform with a keyboard: Just enter C:/'(term)' And click/push 'enter' Chances are the platform will tell you 'not found' or bring up a confused message, hence invoking Everquest, the metaphorical eternal quest which is it's own reward especially good for stealth characters. I.e. C:/plant seeds Not found C:/ cast dancing lights Not found C:/ chat with the half long goblin on the giant mushroom Found (lvl up) - AVALANCHE, protectors of the planet

Games 1-5 are all similar: 4 crystals of light, 4 warriors, one for each, go save crystals, defeat big bad, have fun with class systems (except for II, but we don't talk about that one). Other than that, can't tell you much, still catching up.

I came back after getting destroyed multiple times by The Midgar Zolom. I had grinder some levels and was ready to kick some serious ass. Got hit by Beta in the third turn, entire party wiped out except for Tifa who had fire resistance Materia. I had gotten Beta and then I just ran off.

+Geeksquad59 He first mistakenly thought he was due to the research in Shinra Manor, as the scientists who worked on the Jenova projects also mistook Jenova for a Cetra.
He later found out he was not a Cetra, but was already to far gone to still care, and just decided that he's still the chosen one to rule the planet, but now not like a Ancient, but like his mother's son.
*SPOILER BELOW *
To take the entire planet's life force supply like Jenova intended (for unknown purpose) to gain more power so he could travel to other planets to to gather there life force as well and grow stronger.

It's not really made clear in the game whether or not Sephiroth was in control over Jenova or visa versa. The second form of Sephiroth final boss does have a Jenova head above his own, with tentacles dangling over his head. Indicating that he is in fact the one being manipulated the entire time.
So much nostalgia in the ending music. ;~;

Final Fantasy VII is the embodiment of beauty...the type of beauty that will break your heart and change your life forever.
It amazes me that so many people love to hate this game, but sadly, it is the nature of hateful people to crucify perfection.

Aside from pronouncing a couple things wrong such as Mako and Midgar, this was really good! I didn't wanna be picky and bring it up, but yeah I did. This really amused me, it probably could have included more but then again it was probably hard to without spoiling a lot. Your other lore vids do though so idk, but this still came out pretty well

Each FF game is set in different time periods, but they still have the mechanics out there like in FPS: Aim, Shoot, repeat, or in RTS you know.
The game i think that would make a very challenging and great Lore video, even though it is very old and doesn't have any sequels, prequels, or anything recent would be The Legend of Dragoon for the PS1. I'd LOVE to see this game as a lore lol

Of course they are.
When it's time they'll go all out, spoken dialogue, different graphics, they will make it as appealing as possible since it is a sure bet to make money.
Sephiroth initially thought he was a Cetra and thus destroyed Nibelheim but after he was killed he wandered the lifestream, his strong will stopping himself being absorbed back into it where he learned all about the history of the planet, Cetra, humans etc and Jenova's place as an abomination from the sky.
Sephiroth's new goal at that point is to find the promised land and create a wound so large he can absorb the lifestream that gathers and become a God.
I love this. though I admit I was hoping it would cover Crisis core, advent children, and maybe dirge of ceberus
This Game is Divine, and it teaches everything is divine, and has hidden connections.

I think this video is meant to give a little perspective to some people who are less familiar with the series and don't fully understand some of the background to the plot. It encourages them to actually play through the game and discover some of the biggest revelations (such as Zack) for themselves :P

Cloud was a member of Soldier but later finds out that he is a poor mans version of Sephiroth and it was Zach who saved him from containment chambers and during their escape Zach was killed and Cloud taking Zachs swords seeks vengeance on Sephiroth for all the damage he caused. So long-story short Cloud is living Zachs life in his stead. Have Fun

I agree. The story told was only a fraction of the entire thing. It would take ages to accurately describe the lore and story of FFVII. But saying that a game sucks because it isn't fun to you would be like me saying the Lord of the Rings books sucked because I couldn't get through them. I realize they are awesome books, but I can't read 3 chapters of straight talking without losing interest. But they are still good books.

Well, ussually it is the backstory that leads to the game which most people tend to gloss over or not remember. What happened in the actual game, like say, Cloud's attempted murder of Aerith only for her to die at Sephiroth's hand, is kinda hard to miss.
