I'm 18 and going into college in september, I've always been fascinated with water colour art so I decided to go into an art n design course where they teach painting and so much more! I haven't really done a lot of painting in my lifetime but when I say your videos have helped me improve so much I mean it.
Matt, this is another most helpful video that you have made. I am learning quite a lot from you! If there’s an award for an excellent water color painting teacher, I would vote❤🎉 for you!
This is absolutely stunning 🥰. I'm only a couple years into my journey and I only use little dashes when I use a ruler 😅 I know it'll cover any little errors. I love seeing things to strive for. It'll be good practice to just draw a small part.❤
Serendipity! I am going to attempt an interior church scene, so this was perfect! Your channel, deserves waayyy more subscribers and this video deserves a lot more likes. You are a consistently good, clear teacher and I appreciate your instructions and demos. What cathedral is that? It’s stunning!
I was taught Art to O level standard in the 1960's and was taught never to draw using a ruler,. Also never try to draw colour in a sketch, and to never include figures in the drawing unless they are related to the subject matter directly.
@sujanithtottempudi2991 He does it one go because he likes the overall effect it gives to his painting. If you don't care to follow his style, then it doesn't matter. Of course, it's not wrong if you do it your way and you like the outcome. He is just showing people how he does his and he likes the outcome of his method. And people who like his artwork and wonder why theirs don't come out the same will be interested in his method.

I am truly captivated and inspired by your teaching style and whole approach to water colour painting. Thank you. ☘
Matthew, in your video you asked about the name of the Gothic decorative architectural feature in the church. It’s called tracery.
Exquisite!
WoW Matthew - Really impressed with how simple you have made this complicated looking piece of work. Will we receive this in our art course?
This!!! Chapeau bas!
Amazing!
Beautiful piece Matthew!
So beautiful!
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing!

@@learntopaintwatercolor WOW. Made my day.
Excellent!
This is so beautiful. I have longed to paint a Gothic Cathedral. Thanks
Nice work. That’s a pulpit or rostrum as far as I know.
❤❤❤

I hate how people, instructors and institutions try to impose ridiculous rules. I gave up art completely for many years because of that 😢.
If everyone had kept to what they were taught we would still be living in caverns.
Some teachers I had in my institute also said that. That's so stupid.
@@SnowS162Never Neverland…Just do as you see it. There are No rules in creating your art - just do ‘your’ own thing.
That’s a lot of “never’s” for an artist to follow!
Why is painting in section by section not a good idea in watercolour? I do this method to do slow painting...but is this wrong
