I really like the complete walk through of light to dark on the figures you added. The figures are really simple and the play of light and shadow does all the work. Thank you!
Thank you, Matthew. I have just recently discovered your channel and already I feel more secure on my watercolor journey! You teach in a clear way that both instructs and encourages. Again, thank you!
Thank you Mathew for such a comprehensive view into figures. You make it look so simple, and it is!, obviously it is all in the layering of colors. This is where you make it simple!!. ♥️
Thank you for this video. Do you usually paint your figures before you paint the rest of it like you did here? Or does it vary? I wanted to tell you that your midwest paintings give me a feeling that I always had when I visited my farm familyas a child. Your paintings remind me of The small town that they moved to which I was allowed to wander around in back in the day. And especially love your nighttime views of these
Hi Matthew, I love your work and tutorials. I've only been painting for about 6 months and I was wondering if you let your paper completely dry for the middle values or if it's still slightly damp? I tend to have a difficult time working my paintings out between the middle and dark values and end up rushing through and bypassing one of them. Thank you so much for your help and tutorials.

This is very helpful, thanks a lot! Figures are my biggest fear in painting, you made them seem easy! Also this scene is so beautiful!
Thank you for posting this tutorial! I like how add the reference photo and walk through the highlight you want to deliver to audience
