I’m glad you put out this video even with the camera mishap during the painting of the stream (which is *gorgeous* btw). Thanks for sharing, and ignore the few grumpy viewers about the stream. As a Minnesotan, I can recognize your true understanding of snow and the lighting of a winter forest. Subscribed!
Please do another similar video and detail how to get the stream/water effects.😊 This is one of my most difficult challenges in watercolor landscapes….And one of the most beautiful, as yours achieved, in this painting.
I have not painted landscapes in watercolour since before my kids were born and they are all grown up. I have a studio and nice supplies but it’s been so long. It was nice to watch your tutorial. Gave me hope and inspiration.
Oh what a stunningly beautiful painting. I love it. I've only just found you here. So happy I did. This was a feast for the eyes, mind and heart, as it grew into this fabulous painting. Thank you so very much for sharing.
So, do you have another video where I can see you do similar water. Your technique is unusual and highly effective and I'd reallly like to see you do it. You are a great painter.
Great subject and very good explanation I struggle with the wet on wet never knowing how wet should the paper be, how much time will I have and how much lighter will the wash be after it dries
Thank you, Christopher. Do you know where the picture was taken? It looks exactly like the view looking west from the Vasaloppet Ski Trail northwest of Mora, MN. We used to own that land, now it is a state aquatic management area.
Ultramarine and Van Dyke for the darks. Ultramarine, Cobalt, and Manganese along with Quinacridone and Gamboge for the warmer colors. There was a lot of mixing on the paper.
Oh no... i wanted to draw this picture with the help of your video.. but without the water- part it wouldn't work....🙈 I really hope I'll find another painting from you that looks a little bit like that 😅

Thank you so much for explaining as you go. It's more helpful than just watching and hearing music.
Absolutely excellent narration (best on the net). Artwork is ofcourse amazing

I just discovered your site. Beautiful work! By the way, do you have any suggestions for a Manganese Blue substitute?
Thanks. Cerulean Blue is close to Manganese.

What colors did you use for the water

The name of the Video should be :
Watercolour Demonstration (Without water part)!
Это не совсем живопись. Смотрите картины Шишкина, Репина. Там все живее, так как должно и быть!
