Should have saw it live! I had the privilege to see him live 4 times and it's mind blowing every time I saw him. I've probably watched this video at least a hundred times just to watch people's reactions to it. There will never be another EVH! RIP Eddie, You are truly missed in the world of Rock and Roll. Gone but you never will be forgotten. Your music and the music that hasn't been released will live on. Thank you for all the good times and my memories.
I'm 65 years old now but when I was 18 years old their debut album came out and that was in 1978.When I put that album on and it started playing I thought I was on another planet. It was fresh, different and it made your ass rock. I was dumbfounded on some of the sounds that I was hearing. From that day Van Halen was my favorite American band. I miss Eddie's genius as a player, song writer, his joy in playing and most of all l miss his smile and playfulness. He was amazing to watch was he not? RIP Eddie. As far as I'm concerned you are the "Goat." Thanks for the reply Robert. Glad to hear from another fan of the Goat. Rock til you drop.
Got to see Van Halen Live 16 times and Ed blew me away every time...Not only is He the Greatest Guitarist EVER but also the Coolest...Fom that Beautiful guitar with the Best Guitar tone in history to the Dart behind the Low E string and lets not forget his smile...Man that smile, it was like he knew the secret to everything but wasnt ready to share it with the rest of us mere mortals...R.I.P Edward
I was lucky enough to see this live in 1983 in Houston Texas....As we were leaving the stadium the whole crowd bunched together like sheep we all started yelling and screaming for what seemed like an eternity....I will remember that concert till the day I die....I had their first album at the age of 12....Blew my mind !!
I loved EVH (RIP). I saw Van Halen twice in the DLR era and one thing really stood out to me, Eddie LOVED performing for his fans and the fans loved him. You hear stories about EVH some good, some bad, but one thing for sure, he was an innovator, he was a performer, and he was such a great dude. If you want to know what EVH is all about, look up the Jason Becker video. It will make you cry like a baby.
Nice job dude introducing that lovely lady to the king! She didn’t say much but I enjoyed watching her reactions and facial expressions! That’s the whole purpose, right?
Great reaction! Eddie was raised on classical music hence the part when everything goes blue and he makes it sound like a violin and a cello. Insane. I grew up with these guys, saw them play at a high school before they did anything. Then they did a backyard gig in Pasadena. There are other greats, Jimmy was great but sadly gone too soon and Stevie is probably the best blue's guitarist ever but Eddie is the greatest and Roll guitarist of all time! RIP Eddie ❤❤
"Such a loss... etc." Such an accurate statement with who I feel is 1 of 2, perhaps 1 of 3 rock and roll guitar players that were ultimate game changers (Chuck Berry is easily in this game changing conversation too. Study him and his massive contribution to rock and roll sound, and one will agree.). Mount Rushmore of those players? Jimi Hendrix and Edward Van Halen without any question. SOOOO many other guitar musicians who could be the other two busts, but these two? Sorry. There is absolutely NO ONE that can make a case to supersede these two galactic 6-string freak shows. I'll challenge anyone to tell me WHAT rock and roll guitar player has had and STILL has the MOST influence on rock and roll guitar more than Edward Van Halen. His pioneering DNA can STILL be heard all around the planet more than ANY GUITARIST, and not with just musicians with a guitar, but with musicians with so many other instruments. One cannot say that with Hendrix (although, he didn't have youtube, VHS, MTV, etc.) and one cannot say that with all the other massive guitar Gods either. King Edward did stuff so innovative, so incredible, so MUCH BETTER than anyone else who tried to emulate his insane perfection of new various techniques..... goodness gracious. I eaily acknowledge SO MANY AWESOME rock and roll guitar players that are in this conversation, but that conversation is not number 1 and number 2., No onw. No one comes close to the GAMECHANGERS of Jimi and Eddie. RIP to them both, RIP to so many others such as SRV, Beck, Rhoads, etc. etc.. May they all SHRED in peace. Seriously. All Gods.
No doubt. Eddie was a game changer. Another influential guitarist of this era was Randy Rhoads. Unfortunately tragically killed in a plane crash. May I suggest Mr. Crowley from the After Hours TV show from 1981.
I love Eddie but this live solo just isn't that good compared to earlier ones when he improvises a lot. The best i have heard is the live solo in sweden 1984 tour. Far better in my opinion. He peaked on 1984. Here he sounds sloppy. Look it up. Not a video but hes playing like a maniac. Sweden 1984 solo
@@Patriot-x8y well, I love Eddie. He's my favorite rock player. In my opinion his playing peaked in 1984. Please do me a favor and listen to it. Vh was awesome because of improvisation. Playing all the solos from the albums thru a Marshall sounded boring. The sweden 1984 solo is incredible.

🌸 still miss him so much 💔

Like Vivaldi but with electric guitar!!!!! Ed was/is the GOAT!!!!

Van HaLen changed things
Eddie = The King
They call it the Eruption solo but, in actuality it's a combination of many intros and bit parts from different songs.
THE GOAT RIP KING EDWARD
Two Burritos And A Root Beer Float 🎸🎸🎸

It's got to hurt the ego when a guy can smack his guitar better than you can play it. 😂
Check Neil Peart out. Many solos, and a tribute to Buddy Rich. 😊😮😮😊
Ironically, Ed told Mike McCready of Pearl Jam that he hated his tone on the first Van Halen album, to which Mike was taken aback.
Try out Roy Buchanan Live in Texas.....I think Eddie may have watched him !!!
Yngwie Malsteen......I'll see the light tonight.....also a good one from the mid 80's......enjoy !!!
If you don't love Eddie you are evil.
You didn't give her a chance to react because you already saw it and you were pointing stuff out before it happened two thumbs down non Van Halen fan
