That was "Most Excellent!!!" The 024 deg Radial (Planform view) is your "Lead-Turn Radial" to put you exactly onto the LOC inbound course so you won't overshoot it. Alternatively, you could use "Mach minus 2nm" (Mach Number - 2nm) to determine the same lead point turn.
Cheers mate! Sure wish I had you in the back seat when I flew this one. Wait a minute the F-15E is dual cockpit 👍😎 Mach -2nm has been a game changer 👊🏻
Distances on the chart are relative to the LSV TACAN not a waypoint so you should be using ILST unless you dropped a waypoint specificially on top of the TACAN
I’m long time virtual flyer on DCS and fly only the F/A-18 with VNAO. Only just come across your channel and wanted to say well done mate ! Keep up the good work.
Super thanks for the Feedback! Love the Hornet as you've probably gathered by the number of Hacks! Plenty more to come methinks! Carrier ops section Inbound!
My pleasure! Real world procedures add a whole new level to DCS. I’Ve got a growing list including charts, ATC comms , procedure and of course hacks! Other platforms I’m passionate about include the F16, AV-8B, F-15E, AH-64D, and my First Love the F/A18C hornet and carrier ops! TBH my channel is very niche and not much interest but as long as people like you get something out of it then I’ll keep making content. Enjoy! 👍
In DCS, how do you determine quickly either on approach or ready to takeoff from a cold start, which runway is active. I do understand the entire taking off in the wind. Is it located in the Kneeboard, is that document updated by the program itself? You are amazing at proper IFR Navigation and Landing.
In the real world you tune to a radio frequency called ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service Procedures) which has all relevant take off/landing information for that airfield and is updated when information changes. In DCS contact tower an they’ll guide you in active runway 👍
Just wish the where more explanation of all the termination. Have to read up on how to interpret the knee board. What is arco, wisco, roste, ets. I understand they are milestones, but why turn left at some right at others then straight?
@@DCSHacks I have TACAN dialed in and active, correct ILS frequency set and ILS on but no ILS needles - the localiser remains centered and glideslope pegged at the bottom. I've only used ILST since I didn't have a waypoint on the runway threshold (Nevada Cold Start instant action mission).
@@andrewbergman9315 last things to check - ILS set, Tacan 12X set l, cold start iNS Completed? Are you the right side of the ILS? Not coming from 030? Only other possibility? 🫰🏻🙏🏼
@@DCSHacks Doesn't matter. If that was a check ride, you'd fail just for that. Jus' sayin'. Plus if you augered in the tapes would show you busted alt. mins. and they'd call it pilot error. Those lines are there for a reason. Better to do it in the sim than for real is all. Have fun and thanks for the plates.

Amazing work! Thank you so much, you are taking my sim to a new level. I hope to continue to see more and to learn more.

Hi - Just read through other chanel content - particularly charts 101 - enjoy
Love the videos by the way!
Whenever I dial in the ILS I get nothing on ILST, the needles don't work. Definately got right frequency
ILST requires a tacan 12X for Nellis. iLSN requires Nav waypoint on runway threshold. Hope this helps 👍 ILS frequency for Nellis 21L is 109.10

@@andrewbergman9315 you need to set the course heading on the HSI of the active runway 209 degrees 👍
@@DCSHacks that was also done

How did you put the plates in you kneeboard?
Glad you like the content! Its a clickable button on the kneeboard itself!
Only Joking - Post video production! Apologies my dry British sense of humour!
You busted mins at ROTSE-not good. Underline means not below. Mountainous terrain = Cumulo Granite. Remember one peek is worth a thousand scans.
Busted but called it/ owned it 🙈😂👍
