@@krostouin That's an EOR check, not necessarily startup. If you have to egress the aircraft before starting takeoff roll, it's usually better to raise the canopy (or blow it) and go on foot. Unless the aircraft is in a pool of burning fuel, using the ejection seat is adding one more step that can get you killed. Because using that seat on the ground might get you killed. Jumping 6-7 feet out of the cockpit is not likely to kill you, but the chute failing to deploy will. I know they're supposed to be zero/zero seats, but there is always risk in using them. Nugget Viper pilot was killed on Shaw about a couple years back when he hit the ILS antennas with his gear, collapsed a MLG, and punched out on the runway. Parachute never deployed, and he came down in the seat and was killed by the impact. He's not the first and probably won't be the last to die from an ejection malfunction

Finally a Legit Cold Start Video. as a Former Crew Chief. I was cringing at the others!! JFS and Spool Down still seem to Quiet. they are both profound.
I am super impressed with both Razbam and ED as they get super small details correct that don't make any difference to the operation but are legit. I was waiting for this one to see if the 15 JFS was going to sound different than the 16 just like it does IRL. Sure enough they even got that detail right that only someone who has seen both start multiple times would even notice.
I'm sure some mod will be added in for the 35 (if it isn't already in) but just like with the 22 it will be a ton of guess work by the mod makers. Hence not realistic I'm sure.
Great video, can't wait for the final release so I can dive into the study mode to begin the journey. As I live in the flight path of Nellis AFB, getting to know the F-15 and the challenges will be a real joy. Thanks!

To RAZBAM, I just watched the F-15 cold start video on youtube. I hope that Solo player like me can get the same fun and enjoyment when flying this aircraft. Being an auditor and a weekend virtual flyer I hope the avionics and weapons system is not too difficult to master without the WSO. Looking forward to this module ✌
A tip that took me 3 hours to figure out. If you map the finger lifts to a HOTAS switch, try to use one that is "momentary." When you let go, it returns to the OFF position. Engines will not start if the finger lift is UP. Return the HOTAS switch to off so the finger lift drops back down.

14:55 Why does it only need one coordinate to switch from "GC PP REQ" to "GC NO TAXI" to start the alignment? Wouldn't that mess up the alignment if the other coordinate isn't set yet? Also, what about altitude? Do we not have to enter that as well? Will it take the altitude from the altimeter? If so, will we have to make sure to set it the the correct QNH before starting the alignment?
So for the non USAF types a "redball" is anytime after crew show to before take off when the pilots run into a problem they will call it in over the radio to see if they can get the aircraft fixed to press on. Otherwise they have to shut it down and go to a spare. I was avionics on the F-16 for 20 years and on the CV-22 for my last six so I've done more than a few of these. You just troubleshoot it to see if it is an easy fix or not. Interesting that the ground comms don't work without at least emergency gen. Only need a good battery for the 16.

please tell me you implemented discharging the 2nd JFS bottle incase you forget to have starter switch on first pull. Prior 15 crew chief here on C/D/E models and love the attention to details I've seen so far
Nice video, was hoping to see your takeoff, as myself like many I have read and watched on youtube, find the flight dynamics on rotation and takeoff to be a "bit off", the nose is extremely pitch sensitive, snappy, oscillates too, very very hard to pitch to 10 deg and hold it, an impossible task actually, would really like if that could be worked on.
No there will not be one. There is only 3 buttons in the back that is not up front. Pilot can do all the same the backseat can. This is why they said there would not be one.
I'm glad they made the decision to add an AI WSO. Just because you *can* do everything from the front seat, that doesn't mean you *should* do everything from the front seat, else the Air Force would have made the Strike Eagle a single-seater like the C model. The dude's legitimately back there for a reason.

While I think front seat should be in full control over A/A combat with the back seater simply providing enhanced situational awareness like what a contact likely is via RWR/EW/radar fusion; for A/G that WSO should be setting up and determining a lot more about the weapons delivery, and scouting for specific precision targets on the ground operating the radar in deeper ways so the front seat pilot can focus on flying safely in the AO and responding to mark-1 eyeball threats (like SAM launches from the ground) should they happen.

There is a 'hear like helmet' option if you are not aware. This drops noise levels considerably. They are much louder in external views.

Former F-35 Crew Chief Here. Although I'm happy I worked on my airframe, i am jealous that your CC can fly his jet in DCS .

To your first part. Noted. Good catch! To the third and fourth. No, altitude, etc not needed. You only need to input PP coords.

Ground coms work just fine with just the JFS running. They got that wrong in the video.

If you will all notice…. He does not crank the formation lights all the way up in day VMC! I know it’s a tough concept to grasp for some.

Upon starting the No.2 ENG, the JFS accelerated for 88 seconds.
Are you going to burn down JFS?
technically its a jfs fails to disengage, and you have to do an EP and disengage.
Next: Alert startup procedure during scramble :)
