What a great idea to visit all of the county courthouses. Love the facts you provide from each location as well. We might do this in FL someday. A fun reason to take a road trip.

Impressive trip and many miles. It is interesting to see the difference in architecture of each one. One day I will hit each one but not in 4 days😂

A really amazing start to what promises to be a very cool series!!! These buildings are all so beautiful! I love all the granite, the columns and how many of them had the clock towers as well! Nice to see all those nice old theaters in the county seats as well! Looking forward to the next installment!!!

You have to wonder how much it would cost to build these building in today's dollars.

Sounds like you should know that area of Ohio pretty well then.

Hey Tolle, did you know???? All of those historical markers you are reading to us were made in Marietta, OH at Sewah Studios. Their historical markers are evidently in all 50 states.

I didn’t until now! I’ve seen them all over the country though… cool they were made in Marietta.

You are crazy man! My wife was like why, I was like totally something Tolle would do. That would be like 88 separate videos in old days. Something similar I’m planning is recreating the whole day of Ferris Bueller’s Day off. Please tell me you actually know that kid.
I use to take photos of all the court houses in IL. Learned so much from John Homes to Columbus. Most of Columbus have been cancelled here in IL. Such a cool adventure.

She isn't the only that has said, "Why?!" 😂
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? You have to make that vid!

Salus populi suprema est lex -- "The law is the highest salvation/health/healing of the people." The interesting bit is that the originally saying rearranges it and is in a different tense - "Salus populi suprema lex esto" -- ie, the law _should be_ or _ought to be_. But it could also mean "the law should eat the highest health of the people," so "est" is a lot better way to put it.
The other amusing thing is that, Cicero quotes aside, there's a famous picture of the Virgin Mary that's called the "Salus Populi Romana," because it literally was used to tell the plague to leave Rome by processing it through the city and blessing the streets.

Sounds like the law has a dangerous appetite 🤣. Thanks for the translations!

Washington Court House: tied for the longest name of a city in the United States.

Should've named it Washington's Court House and then they'd be #1 by themselves.

Very cool road trip idea! I couldn’t imagine how long it would take to build those courthouses back in those days.

You have to wonder how these smaller counties were able to afford it back then.
