You sound like an amazing dentist have had many rough rides with my bridge am down in Florida, and wish I were there to go see you. I wish teletherapy were an option!
I’ve been recommended a dental bridge for my right three front teeth, there crooked yet healthy, dentist wants to remove middle one in back of others. I’m worried that even tho they’re crooked, filing down healthy teeth may not be the best bet in the long run. What’s chance of damage later on?
Trying to decide between the implant and a bridge. My husband brought up a very good point about me being an over the top flosser and it would require more upkeep. I just didn't want to spend the money on an implant because they're freaking expensive. I also don't feel comfortable about a lot of foreign objects being embedded in my gums....hence the graft material and the screw material. So much to think about just for a tooth. My head hurts. LOL
As somebody with a bridge, I always recommend implants. Like always. It’s going to be needed later down the line, and the bridge can cause sinus issues, TMJ, etc. it has been awful for me, but everyone is different 🤷♀️
I regret not taking better care of my teeth when i was younger i still have mostly all of them but just having issues with some of them breaking & getting infected etc.
I am here in Atlanta I went to a specialist and I’ve been in pain since and here’s why when he was placing the bridge he told me to BITE DOWN HARD .. a year later I’m having really bad pain so I went to see a different specialist he told me that it is too tight so my gums where the missing teeth are are struggling to heal with no space! I feel the first specialist perform malfunction practice for telling to but down hard versus not too hard let alone he left no space for missing teeth area for easier cleaning and healing 😔
Aside from caries, implant crowns can have as many esthetic issues, fractures as bridges. And if adjacent teeth also have dental problems, from cavities to hypereruption, - bridges fix those problems generally at no extra cost, while implants charge extra.
Dr.Langston, thx. My bottom front teeth have been destroyed by radiation therapy for cancer. Cancer is gone but now I need a bridge to replace the 6 small teeth on the bottom. My question: I want a gold bridge bc I have 6 gold crowns and they are much more durable than porcelain. My dentist wants to use a porcelain bridge. I’m 66 and my bottom teeth don’t show when I smile. I think gold is the best choice.Should I insist on gold ?
Hello doctor.. Are bridges a good option for a 60 year old patient with mostly all molars and premolars missing in whom implants are not possible due to less bone.
Hey there, this is a great question. Unfortunately I can't give you a solid answer without examining your mouth. If you'd like to schedule a consultation, please visit drbrettlangston.com
I am missing one tooth and I’m not to sure which dental care I should get. Implant or the bridge. First, I’m totally nervous about the implant and having metal in my mouth lol. The wait too, it’s pretty long for the healing. I’m a diabetic as well so that’s another reason why I am nervous about the surgery. My body takes longer than usual to heal. So I was aiming towards the dental bridge. I just want something to last for many years and no infection.
Go for a bridge. I just replaced mine after 15 years. And because you are a diabetic, an implant is less likely to heal, espcially if your diabetes is not well controlled.

Why use porcelain when you can use zirconium which I hear is much stronger?
No, unless you want it to cost 4x, have some desire to tote an investment thru customs.

What are the risk of an implant
Thank you for information Dr.😊😄
Thank you so much for that information. Nobody ever mentioned a bridge to me

The problem with the bridge is that what if the supporting tooth breaks beyond repair.
Bridge gets extended to the next tooth. So instead of a 3 tooth bridge (just example) you have a 4 tooth bridge.
You just have to eat healthy
