The 2023 Lexus ES 300h F-Sport Is A Lexus Sedan At Its Best With An Electrified Flair

  • The #LexusES has a long history for Lexus. Introduced in the late 80's alongside the flagship LS luxury sedan, the #LexusES300h is the electrified version of the popular midsize luxury sedan. Sharing a platform with the full-size Toyota Avalon, the latest #ES300hFSport adds the popular handling package to a quiet, comfortable, and efficient car. While it doesn't turn the latest #ES into a sport sedan, it does make for a more visually appealing car that is still the same quiet and comfortable car that it has always been.

Honestly, as much as all the fun cars are, the ES is the car I'd daily commute in forever. I have an 08 and want to upgrade to this one. I've had the 08 since 2011 and its the best car I've ever owned. Comfortable, reliable and as luxurious as you really need for a daily driver.

. Me too. Four years ago I gave mine a face lift , added 20" black and chrome rims, and had the roof and other trim painted gloss black. I want to update so badly, but I don't like the chrome window trim , needs flat bottom steering wheel and sporty carbon fiber interior.

Nice review! This car is for someone who wants great MPG and comfort over the Camry with the same drivetrain.
I see alot of comments about the V6 being more fun, which of course, but that's not who this car is aimed at.
I could see older buyers going for this, because they see the Camry as basic and this ES as luxury, and they have the money for a Lexus. And they get a few other nice features.

Had a 2022 ES300h UL(Nov 2021-Nov 2022). Very nice and a great cruiser. The ride and quietness is very good but, it does depend on the road surface! 95% of the time the car was a pleasure. Lexus/Toyota hybrids are the best of the best! Over the year in PA, I averaged 44mpg. Dead on with what it’s rated for. I drove around town 95% of the time and only wished the HV battery would have been bigger to drive more in EV only mode. I switched to an NX450h+ and I’m beyond thrilled. The ability to drive entirely in EV mode(38-42 miles) is amazing. At least for me the NX450h+ is a way better fit for my driving commute. Lexus/Toyota makes amazing hybrid vehicles and it’s finally great to see them selling now like they should have years ago. They only get better and more efficient with each redesign.

Mechanical engineering project manager here. My neighbor has a loaded ES 350 ultra luxury and it so spectacular. For those who have the ES 300 H F sport, I have two question for you.
1 What is your MPG average do you get the actual 44-45 MPG? I like that you can put 87. I love your review very thorough.
Side note for a Camry owners coming to the Es, you get 13 gallons which is 1-2 short I believe the Camry gives you 15 gallons. Looks lien that FOB key is funnily one flaw. At least we can access it with a smart phone
I like the Iridium silver it’s mixed in with some white
Seems like you get 218 HP which i in between the 250 and the 350. I also dig the LED lights
The 0-60 8.1 seconds is not horrible but again we don’t expect this to be a sports car. So looks lien it is 3 inches bigger than the Camry and almost the same size minus 4 inches in height. I line the F sport package and same color you are showing my next car.
I will get it a few years used to save up and get ultra luxury F sport for slightly under $40,000
I like the big LS and IS that offers more size and the IS offers more Hp but the ES is the perfect middle of the road compromise.
Also, I don’t think you need AWD or the 250 but you can get it

Honestly I thought compared to my IS3OOh, it felt considerably slower (especially the in-gear acceleration) and handled like a blancmange, but it wasn't the FSport, so there is that... Bugger all driving dynamics compared to the IS. Also, I think it's very poor that they haven't given this car more power now. This should at least have the 350h powertrain from the new NX now and/or a plug-in variant. It's shameful Lexus haven't updated this powertrain yet, they're cheaping out big time!

Greetings I am a mechanical engineering project manager and let me tell you I would take personally to hit on the MPG and get the ES 350 F sport The V6 is time tested and true: the Hybrid will get you good LS gas but the engines are problematic and with 215 HP you are. It getting any power. The ES 300 H will go 0.60 in 8.1 seconds the E 350 base will do 6.5 second. F sport makes handling smoother and give it the sporty feel. No one will mistake this for a Maserati or a Porsche but you get to put 87 octane regular gas and get good mpg

The reason why you feel some buyer remorse with the 300 EH is because it is slow and sluggish you’re only getting 212 hp so it goes 0 to 60 eight seconds the ES 350 goes 0 to 60 and 6.5 seconds actually doing some research I realized that the escort is not even worth it because you’re not adding any more horsepower it’s just giving it a more sportier feel but you’re also paying $10,000 so I say get the base engine ES 350. If you want a inget fancy get the luxury es350 same
Price as the f sport $45,000 but you get kicked. You can get the extra luxury but you’re also paying for it and the price of that is 57,000 at that point you might as well get a Mercedes I wouldn’t go with the hybrid yet project engineering manager they haven’t perfected the strength of the engine yet it gets great gas mileage but the thing is sluggish but the gas powered ES 350 will always be a winner.
By the way I have friends who are NASCAR Formula One race drivers for a professional living they said that most of their cars they have Toyota Camry body frames which is the same as the Lexus
