    Hey Randy IDK if you stay on top of most the comments but I just want you to know I really appreciate you. Not just the tips and the secrets but the quality of a person that you are I find to be very rare. I don't want this to sound weird but something about your soul man it's just so pure and I can see it in your eyes every day I watch a new video. On behalf of a society that seems to be declining in morality and sincerity watching your videos is a Huge breath of fresh air for me. So thank you for who you are and what you do & May God Bless and protect your family during these national winds of change 🙏🙏

    Mr. Blaukat,
    I want to thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with us. I am a disabled veteran living near Dardanelle Arkansas. It's channel's like yours and Fishing the Moment that have reignited my passion for fishing. Just wanted to let you know that your videos do more than impart knowledge but they give folks like me motivation to get well enough to get back out on the water.
    Respectful,

    Absolutely one of the best worms ever made!!!!! I still use it to this day - black and blue is deadly on the smallmouth and green pumpkin is my go-to color for largemouth. Great call Randy - it is a well-guarded secret that I still have yet to let out of the bag.

    Randy is 100 % RIGHT....THIS bait is killer....i learned it from a BASS club member coincidently also in 1986... He threw it religiously on lakes.. and tidal rivers.... and he dominated our club back then...and i still use these...
    I got to fish with him in a DRAW YOUR PARTNER TOURNAMENT on the UPPER BAY back then....and ...we won the tournament that day using this bait...(he gave me some) ....we blew the field away using this worm...he taught me that day about these...and i had a Front Row seat to see it work...
    Since then, this worm has worked for me year after year....many times when nothing else does....
    These videos are VERY helpful, no matter a persons skill level..
    New fisherman learn so much from you... Randy.
    Where the more skilled anglers may learn smaller tidbits... But can pick up and learn subtle differences... (ex. Line test or roughing up the plastic.etc...) If they are willing to listen..
    Sometimes, We also get reminders of something we have gotten away from doing.....
    It is also very satisfying to know that something that i do ....or I am using....is the same as what a BASS professional angler is also doing....
    Keep up the GREAT WORK...this is priceless info to those wanting to learn...and willing to listen... and with the amount of subscribers...many are listening...
    Thanks!

    Thanks for all you do Randy. I was fishing a kayak tourney on Eufaula, AL/GA, this last weekend. Bass were killing a weightless senko. Ran out of senkos at about 10 am, bass, were destroying them, ripping and eating them. I took a magnum lizard, cut off tail, legs, and head and rigged it like I had been the senkos. Caught several more bass and went through 3 of my modified baits. I attribute my actions to your educational videos and my persistence, thanks for all your lessons.

    Randy, that was a great vid and can’t way to try it. I REALLY appreciate the tip about watching the BASS Alabama Top 150! It was a blast to watch. It was definitely a better era of the sport for me as a fan experience. I learned that you are a wild man (also watched you pull the plug out of your boat at Buggs Island). AND I discovered the channel with all the old tournaments archived! Was up way too late last night watching your old tournament. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.

    A few years ago I was bank fishing at a neighborhood pond near my house and some of these were in a tackle box that I bought from a guy off of Facebook. I had never seen them before but they were black with blue tail and I literally caught fish after fish that day. I only had three of them and by the end of the day they were all tore up into pieces and I’ve never seen them in any tackle stores since then! Thank you for this Randy you’re the man!!

    Whew! That was a scare. When I saw the ring worm I thought oh no, he’s going to give out my favorite fish catching technique. But you didn’t. You give away 2 others, but not my favorite. Thank you. You are correct about them being forgotten. I use a bunch of them and the tackle stores at my local lake don’t even carry them. You also didn’t give away the rigging detail I use, so again, thank you. I really like your secrets videos - uh, as long as there’re not one of my favorites. .

    I like a short worm with a jig head for places that don't have too many snags. I used to trim about 2" off my dad's Culprit worms in red shad and put them on a red Cotee jig head made for saltwater soft plastics. I put it on 6 lb test with a 2' piece of 20 lb tied on for a leader because I was used to leaders in the saltwater. It was deadly for bass in Florida golf course ponds. Big channel catfish would bite it too. The leader helps eliminate break offs and gives you a stronger line to control the fish at the bank, and I got lots of bites with it. My hook-up ratio was better than dad's Texas rig too.

    Switched from trout to bass a decade ago and one of the first baits I threw was a Big Bite Baits black ring worm with the small curly tail. Same as this worm but different brand, and I can’t find it anymore. Anyway, rigged on a #2 EWG with a 3/16 bullet sinker and it would slay bass in stained water as described. I still have a few packs and need to throw that setup again...

  • @turdferguson5300
    @turdferguson5300 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    One very effective time to fish this rig is in large flats around duck blinds and structure following storms. A storm will put large fish on cover instead of roaming the flat. Walmart carried a 6" worm called a Renegade much like the Ring Worm. I used a 1/8 ounce pegged sinker w/ 10 lb line. Watch your line because sometimes you can't feel the strike it just starts slowly moving off.

    Randy I flip with a 10½" ole monster worm. Same as anybody would flip shallow cover with a jig or creature bait. It catches big ones, as well as the numbers of fish. Red shad for dirty water, plum color for cleaner water (1'+ visibility) on old hickory. Nobody else does that here

  • @donaldmartin4980
    @donaldmartin4980 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    For a bonus, the brighter colors of ringworms, seem to be favorite with small mouths, walleye, saugeye, and even channel catfish.....the only two crappie I ever caught that measured over 17 inches both were caught on 4 inch purple worms.

    4” ringworms are deadly. One of my favorite baits. No one I fish with wants to try them until I’ve started loading the boat with it. Then they’ll say “I guess I’ll try one- it’s kinda small though.” I rigged one up for my cousins wife and she caught a 22 pound pike on it. Big fish will eat it

    Black with white tail was a killer bait on the Mississippi River in late 80’s. 1/8 weight with black glass bead around lay downs or rip rap. I had totally forgotten but great lure. Thanks for the revival. Good for smallies?
