Thanks Jonathan!! Awesome instructional video!! Very well put together and I learned a lot from it. Looking forward to putting it to use here in PA. Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
Good video with very helpful information. I will save it for future reference. Thank you and have great success in this year's BASS Classic Tournament.
I've always rigged the cut tail worms opposite, with cut facing up & haven't had my baits spinning or twisting my line. My thought process was if I'm dragging or hoping it on bottom the tail will still thump. If it's facing down I figured the bottom or grass would causey tail to thump less. Zmans swimming worms are awesome too, it has more of a swimbait tail though & a lot bigger profile.
What are your thoughts on tying on a 30lb braid leader to a spool with say, 20lb flouro main line? As an option for fishing lily pads if you don't have a reel spooled up with 30lb braid. Is fluoro to braid a thing or is that stupid? Again, this is if you're in a pinch and don't have a straight braid setup handy. I fish out of a kayak, so I have a limit to how many rods I can bring with me.
Grabbed a pack for my river in Ohio but notice people talk about grass alot. I'm just gonna toss to laydowns and rock. I have zero grass. Hope it still works! Thanks for the tips!
Another L-hand retrieve fisherman 🤓 Not very many of us use them but. It just makes sense 🎣 Rod stays in the strong hand and you get more fish on the drop instead of missing fish while switching hand😎🇺🇸
Hi Jonathan, why not run it weightless on mono in shallow water? I LOVE speed worms, but I run them weightless on a 7'3" heavy power, fast action rod on 15# mono on a 7.2:1 reel. I have pretty good luck with that setup. Am I messing this up?
Hey if it’s working don’t mess with it! I don’t like fishing mine on mono personally but everyone is different! That’s one of the beautiful things about fishing is that there really is no wrong way if it works!
I’m in Broward County in Southeast Fla, love the ultra-vibe speed worm, as well as the Cut-R worm, but that #zmanturbofattyZ is a game changer in green pumpkin red. It gets absolutely smoked! Thanks for the content, and God Bless! Tight lines to ya 🎣
You earned my subscribe with the blessed day at the end.
God bless you too!
Great job very detailed information and it is easy to follow.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Just used first speed worm yesterday and caught a nice largemouth bass on it even weightless! Need to learn more….thx dude!

Thanks again! I hope it puts some giants in the boat for you! God bless!
Same thing with a curly tail crappie jig tail always down.
Thanks for sharing. I'm about to make my 1st bass fishing trip to Florida. Video definitely helped me understand speed worms.

Fattyz 👍🏻
Yeah, me too.
I use a magnum speed worm/cut tail worm without a weight to mimic buzz bait.
Kickass!

That’s how I fish em too. I treat my speed worms similarly to a senko. Weightless on light braid or hybrid Yozuri

Thanks Jonathan
Anytime!
do you ever use it weightless ?
I do! when the grass is shallower it works alot like a swimbait that you can kill and get alot of bites letting it sink
Great video
Thank you!
I enjoy fishing the speed worm just like you rigged in highland rocky clear water reservoirs. Many bass will attack it.
I have caught more fish in NC rivers on the speed worn than any bait I have used and I fish it like top water bait.
I want that hoodie
Do you feel like ppl in Texas fish this a lot just like Florida?
I just started fishing this setup and noticed when retrieving the bait it likes to rolls.
Then the worm wasn’t rigged with the cut perfectly down, it can be a pain sometimes but that cut has to be perfectly straight down
What is the best color for Florida again
It’s hard to beat a June bug or a black and blue
Pumpkin 😎
Water melon red works great on worm or fluke

Glad you enjoyed it! It’s a staple in your area! God bless!
Said rod “MH” but rod shown was “H”…?
I have one similar that I use two red glass beads for the sinker unpegged. It works quite well. ZMAN FattyZ
