Buc-Eee's has about the highest pay in Texas for retail. They are demanding as an employer, but if you make the cut, they have very good benefits. One thing about Buc-ee's is they don't allow truck drivers shopping in all of their stores unless they drive in with their own personal vehicles, even the drivers delivering the fuels and products aren't allowed to shop and they are required to immediately leave after their deliveries are done.
We did not know about this and we are shocked but lucky for the truckers there are many amazing truck stops across the country some of which we have visited and filmed.
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls It’s because they don’t want trucks at their properties and be taken as a truck stop, one of the best truck stops is Iowa-80 and there’s another huge truck stop that I can’t remember the name.
We figured as much and that is fully understandable as to why! One of our favourite if not the best truck stop we've been to is Russell's Truck & Travel Center, 1583 Frontage Rd 4132, Glenrio, NM. We will do some research as you've got us interested now 😀
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls Boudin is a sausage made with seasoned rice and other stuff, usually from New Orleans. The Kolaches are basically bread wrapped sausages.

Someone should have warned you that Texas weather is bipolar. 😂 Next time you hit Buc-ee's or a good donut shop (not Shipleys) try a kolache. It's sausage and cheese baked in a bread/roll. The plain Beaver Nuggets are awesome. Big Mac sauce is basically the same as Thousand Island dressing. I've been eating thousand Island for over 50 years so trust me.
Haha that’s a perfect explanation for the weather! You nailed it! Just from all the extra food people like yourself keep recommending I can already feel we are going to go up a size in clothes haha. We didn’t realise that we got the cinnamon beaver nuggets instead due to being overwhelmed by the large selections on offer. Thankyou and hope you enjoyed watching!
We did not, thought they were the weirdest things. We did get the cinnamon ones instead of the normal though so maybe that had something to do with us not liking them.
The gas pump count was off by half, there are 60 pumps under each covered pumping area. Two covered pumping areas so 60 x 2 = 120. Blame it on Google, not the Aussie's.
Thankyou for your info and understanding, we try our hardest! Yet again we are saved by people like yourself with the true knowledge! Hoping you are enjoying our journey, thankyou for watching 🙂
I know the rest of the English speaking world calls anything served in a bun a burger. Those aren’t burgers, they’re sandwiches. By definition, a burger is a patty made of mince between a bun/roll. If you walk into a diner and ask for a chicken burger, you are getting a mince chicken patty. If it isn’t mince, it’s a sandwich.
We are learning the differences slowly…. Haha One of hardest things for us to wrap our brains around was what you call fries, we call them hot chips! Unfortunately, we got caught out many times when ordering a burger and chips and got a packet of crisps. Whereas back home in Australia, it is a side of hot chips (fries). Thankyou for watching and hope we can continue to entertain you throughout our journey.
Yes, this is always triggering for me. Just because it's on a burger bun that doesn't make it a burger. I can't imagine what kind of confusion happens in the rest of the English speaking world if you ordered a turkey burger or a veggie burger. Do you get a mushroom on a bun? A bunch of cooked veggies on a bun? Or a veggie patty? All 3 world be correct. Either there are very limited options or there are a lot of people getting surprises when they order a meal.
As people from around the world venture into the USA--especially in the American South--they discover for themselves A) the food we enjoy, and B) why Americans are the most overweight people on the planet.
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls In the States, “burger” is only ground meat formed into a patty. So fried chicken is a sandwich and sliced Turkey is a sandwich but ground turkey into a patty is a turkey burger. Same with chicken. And brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, etc.
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls No worries. Just a good natured heads up that some other fast food or restaurants may get confused and bring you a hamburger instead of what you wanted. My friends in England call them that too. I guess it’s the bun that makes everyone call it a burger.
Yes and when we are Stateside, we will make sure from now on we will refer to them as sandwiches! In Australia we call them burgers. Hope your enjoyed the video otherwise!
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls A "burger" is an abbreviation for "hamburger" which itself is an abbreviation for "hamburger sandwich". I blame England but I don't understand how they fucked it up when they were the ones that came up with "sandwich" in the first place. To apply some logic, if a "chicken burger" is made with chicken then what is a "cheeseburger" made of? Cheese? Anything contained within two pieces of bread is a sandwich seeing as how it is "sandwiched" between two pieces of bread.
Hahaha to us a sandwich is just straight up bread. Like a peanut butter sandwich. We didn't know at the time that it was actually a pulled pork sandwich not burger. We are sorry! Won't do it again
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls Oh man, no need for apologies, y’all talk however y’all want, I was just curious. So a sandwich is only something with square sandwich bread?
You are correct. No offence taken, you can't offend us Australians. Here in Australia, anything with a sliced bun we consider a burger, give or take. It's just like what you guys call flip flops we call thongs haha
I know it may look silly but in Sandra's defence, it is what it is and we believe she was trying to be mindful due to her sickness she was still recovering from 😊 we told her not to worry but i think it was a case of muscle memory 😜
I had hope when y’all called this a gas station that you would call things by the right name. A burger only has ground meat Not chopped meat. If it is ground beef, chicken, or turkey it is a “burger”. If it is chopped sliced or fried it is a sandwich. Please stop calling everything a burger while are in the US.
I totally get where you're coming from. As an Aussie, I know we have our own way of naming things. In Australia, we do tend to use "burger" for anything with a sliced bun. It's just one of those little language differences between us Aussies and our mates in the US. But hey, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Thankyou, we were in the process of a USA wide trip if you’d like to check the other videos out and let us know what we can’t miss for our upcoming USA adventures 🤫
It was a fun video 😄👍🏻
Thankyou and we are happy you enjoyed 😀
The cherry maple is my favorite. A spicy version would be nice too
It’s sooo good 🤤
Welcome to America.
Thankyou and welcome to our channel!
I live 10 minutes from this Buc-ees. Home-made potato chips (crisps) are excellent. Very good deli. Cinnamon rolls to die for.
I’m not sure what happened the day we visited, Maybe they left the crisps out for a bit too long.
We love a good cinnamon roll just another reason to go back 🤪
@@TheRoadBechAndCallssometimes they either don’t fry them quite long enough or don’t let them drain and they are too soggy, but when they are crispy and hot they are wonderful
@@dekulruno Just another reason for us to visit another Buc-ees, unfortunately ours were no good will have to try them again.
I am headed to San Antonio in December....and we are planning to visit Buc-ees
You won’t regret it! It’s like visiting a theme park of gas stations 😅😂
Sad you did not capture the Great Tailed Grackle chattering at you at the beginning of the video. Grackles show up and menace humans everywhere they pour concrete and have dumpsters. .
Wow what a spot, we had to research what you were mentioning. Sounds like we made a clean getaway.
That's my town. I go to Buccees a few times a month for the chopped brisket sandwich
Brisket on the board!!
We have to admit we are jealous of you! And at the same time we aren’t as it would be dangerous living remotely close to all the scrumptious food 🤤
If you understand what we are trying to say?
LOVE BUC-CESS 🙃☺️ I'M FROM SAN ANTONIO 💖
You are so lucky to live so close!! We are jealous haha 😆
Buc-Eee's has about the highest pay in Texas for retail. They are demanding as an employer, but if you make the cut, they have very good benefits. Buc-Ee's can be a career Bucee's is a privately held corporation controlled by two investors. They expand mostly according to their cash holdings and lines of credit from a few major banks.
Buccee's really is a way for the frustrated working class to have a chance at the American Dream.
Sounds like a job sale pitch from someone that works in corporate 😉 na, in all seriousness though all the workers we encountered seemed very happy and appeared to love their job there. Thank you for the wealth of information :)
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls They loved their jobs because they had the best pay in their area for that kind of work, and a chance at a career and wealth building. Bucee's turns rural despair into a chance at the good life.
Thanks for a cool video, guys!
Your very welcome! We hope you stick around to enjoy the ride with us!
We just got a buc-ees about 25 minutes away from us in auburn Alabama and I think I’ll go check it out tomorrow after seeing this video! Got too get some bbq sandwiches not burgers! Lol. And jerky! Can’t wait.
You are not going to regret your visit to the glorious Buc-ee's and the many more visits yet to come! Just don't go jumping on the scales anytime soon 😜
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls 🤣believe me I won’t get on one! I can’t wait I already know what I’m gonna get! Gotta try the garlic jerky y’all had , looks so good! Told my husband we should take the grandkids, then I thought, we won’t get out of there without paying $500 or more! 🤦♀️ oh well ! Be safe guys!
Cheers from Indiana
Thank you for watching! We appreciate your view and hope you enjoy some of our other videos as much as this one :)
The locals love you tourists! ❤
Thank you for watching and your comment :) appreciate it
the cherry maple jerkey is my favorite next to teriyaki
This was our favourite too! Soo good!
Really????
That’s so nasty.
Mesquite??? Honey?? Haitian? Texican?
@@poohbearsmom2964 we didn't try those ones might have to next time, we liked that the cherry maple had a sweetness to it.
The Buc-ees in Sevierville opnes next month with 120 pumps and later this year in Luling, Texas will be even bigger.
It's pretty awesome and exciting!! We hope you enjoyed our video!
Yes, I am waiting impatiently for Sevierville, I am 2 hours away from there, but 4 hours from Florence SC.
Sounds like a perfect little road trip!
You missed the longest car wash in the world in Katy Texas.
It's obviously in a Buc-ee's and it's 255 foot long!!! It's in the Guinness book of world records!
Wow! Is there anything that Buc-ee’s cannot achieve!
That’s crazy!
bucees fudge is soo good
It is a good solid fudge, although not the best we’ve had so far check out our video on Uranus fudge factory 😂 can’t say no to fudge from Uranus 😂
I REALLY need to come out from under my rock more often. I'm American and I 've never heard of this Buc-ee's before today. Freaking foreigners know more about my own country than I do. So sad.
It's ok! That's what we are hear for!
But in saying that if you get the chance to visit Buc-ee's will not disappoint.
Thank you for checking us out, we hope you enjoyed the video!
I live in Missouri and only heard about Bucees recently! Co heard that there's one in MO not sure where! I think Bucees is more of a Texas thing!!
@@emilywhitfield2780 If I remember correctly, there will be one open in Springfield, MO at the end of this year. It is great to hear that they are expanding so there is more opportunity for people to visit this awesome gas station for themselves.
Lol, I don't like hard candy corn either. I always pinch the back before I buy it (usually around Halloween).
I’m glad we aren’t the only ones 😅
There’s soft candy corn? Now we’re intrigued!
Thankyou for watching we do hope you enjoyed the video.
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls lol thanks for the reply. I'm watching your video about the Walking Dead town in Georgia. I've subbed and I plan on watching your journey! In fact I just said as much on the other video. Anyway, I hope u guys enjoyed your stay!
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls Oh and about the candy corn....Brach's makes the best. It can still get hard if it's an older bag but usually it melts in your mouth when fresh! :)
@@Mustang1984 we absolutely loved the walking dead show and was super excited to be there, we hope you enjoyed our video of the town it was filmed in, we had a lot of fun filming that video. Thank you so much for subscribing! ❤️
Ooh we actually haven't tried candy corn so will definitely have to get that one you suggested first to try, thanks!
The Big Mc Sauce is easy to get. Its called Thousand Island Salad Dressing. What happened to the fudge samples????
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on our video, we really appreciate it :) and as for the fudge, we very much enjoyed it.
Those chips were probably far better when hot. That cut of chips die a quick death.
Unfortunately we learnt that lesson the hard way, thankfully we had all the other food to make up the difference 🤣
GO BUCEES GO BUCEES
Yayy for BUCEES!!! We could not pass up the opportunity to visit :)
New Sub.
Hello and Welcome to the adventure! 🍻
all that was missing was a peanut butter overbite!!
Thankyou We're adding that to the list for a next time, the list is growing fast with all the recommendations. 😅
after going a few times, you know what and where lol
Thankyou for watching, what are your recommendations for the next time we visit Buc-ee’s?
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls Oh nothing special, I just get brisket or pulled pork, and I really like the plain beaver nuggets. I grab that and a drink
@@shalakabooyaka1480
Solid choices!
We will try the plain nuggets next time unfortunately in the chaos, we grabbed the cinnamon flavour as it was a smaller bag.
It means we’ll have yet another reason to go back to Buc-ee’s!
Texas has a 120 gas pumps. That's the largest store
We can’t wait to visit bucee’s again, we miss the jerky and fresh bbq selection 🤤
There are people who live within 5 minutes of this place who feed deer in their backyards in the early am.
That’s awesome, we’d love to have that experience one day!
The largest Buc-ee's has over a hundred gas pumps.😊
Oh, Whoops! My bad, I must of read about the wrong station when I googled it haha, thanks for letting me know :)
More likely it 60 pumps but they are double sided so 120
Some have over 200
One thing about Buc-ee's is they don't allow truck drivers shopping in all of their stores unless they drive in with their own personal vehicles, even the drivers delivering the fuels and products aren't allowed to shop and they are required to immediately leave after their deliveries are done.
We will do some research as you've got us interested now 😀
Not sure being in Tx. I would get BBQ from a gas station/convenience store instead of a real BBQ stand where the smoke is lingering in the air.
Can't knock it til you've tried it. We were pleasantly surprised
The BBQ is good for a gas station that is 24hr.
I've gotten off work and got a brisket Sandwich, yumm
@@TheNotoriousNemo So lucky!! We really wish we had a Buc-ee's in Australia.
Should try the boudin kalaches
What are those? We've Never heard anything like that before?
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls Boudin is a sausage made with seasoned rice and other stuff, usually from New Orleans. The Kolaches are basically bread wrapped sausages.
@@TheOldmane oh that sounds quite delicious, we will have to keep an eye out for some next time we are travelling through. Almost sounds a little like a sausage roll that we have back home. Minced herbed Meat wrapped in pastry. 😋
The only problem I have had with their sandwich's is that they need a lil salt and pepper but I understand why they don't put a lot on.
Luckily for us we had salt and pepper in the RV, for our taste tho we didnt require any extra. I'm sure Buc-ee's supplies condiment packets in store 🤷♂️
you are gonna regret not getting the big beaver nuggets
I think we did make that mistake because you're not the first person to mention this! 😅
Too bad you guys didn't go through Iowa you could have went to the world's biggest truck stop it's called Iowa 80
We are planing on visiting more of the USA!
Thankyou for the suggestion it’s on the list 😀🍻
Someone should have warned you that Texas weather is bipolar. 😂
Next time you hit Buc-ee's or a good donut shop (not Shipleys) try a kolache.
The new Braunfels bucee's is the largest one in the chain
Yes you are correct, it was the largest at the time of filming this it has since been dethroned. 🤯
Why is that car at the end of the video speeding backwards? 🤔
Good spotting! The shot fitted so well in reverse 🤪
We do hope you enjoyed the video, and thankyou for watching to the end 😎
Did you end up liking the nuggets?
We did not, thought they were the weirdest things. We did get the cinnamon ones instead of the normal though so maybe that had something to do with us not liking them.
The gas pump count was off by half, there are 60 pumps under each covered pumping area. Two covered pumping areas so 60 x 2 = 120. Blame it on Google, not the Aussie's.
Thankyou for your info and understanding, we try our hardest!
Yet again we are saved by people like yourself with the true knowledge!
Hoping you are enjoying our journey, thankyou for watching 🙂
Servo ??
Servo Australian slang for service station (gas station)
Everything is bigger in Texas.
We second that!!!!!
Haha
One of hardest things for us to wrap our brains around was what you call fries, we call them hot chips!
@@harveythepooka haha luckily we can just talk and figure it out eventually.
If you found that triggering we wear thongs on our feet! 😂
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls 🤣🤣🤣good one!!!
As people from around the world venture into the USA--especially in the American South--they discover for themselves A) the food we enjoy, and B) why Americans are the most overweight people on the planet.
It was amazing to see so many options for road trip snacks, thanks for taking the time to check out our video and comment :)
If you don’t gain weight touring the US you didn’t do it right
Haha we don’t own a weight scale for this reason, we are just enjoying the journey and everything that comes with it.
Thankyou for watching!!
We don’t call them burgers. We call them sandwiches. Burgers is only hamburgers.
We did not know this at all, thank you
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls In the States, “burger” is only ground meat formed into a patty. So fried chicken is a sandwich and sliced Turkey is a sandwich but ground turkey into a patty is a turkey burger. Same with chicken.
And brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, etc.
@@BP-or2iu thank you! Will know now for next time when we get a burger I mean sandwich 😂
@@TheRoadBechAndCalls No worries. Just a good natured heads up that some other fast food or restaurants may get confused and bring you a hamburger instead of what you wanted. My friends in England call them that too. I guess it’s the bun that makes everyone call it a burger.
Those were sandwiches, not "burgers".
Bcuees becoming a cult
That’s the only cult we’d join 😂
Literally no other state in the US has this much state pride
100% and we felt right at home in Texas!
If y’all call all of that “burgers” when there wasn’t a burger in sight… wtf is a sandwich?
They were all literally sitting at the table eating together and then the mom puts on a mask! WTH?
But hey, thanks for sharing your thoughts!
დიდებული საუკუნე
Thank you for checking us out :)
Guys those aren't burgers those are all sandwiches
We know them as burgers in Australia, a sandwich is sliced bread not buns for us 🤪
Not to put a damper on things, but do you guys have any clue how many TH-camrs have done a review of Buc-ee’s?
We are so very sorry that our USA travel series happened to stop at buc-ee's, we have noted your concern.
How many then? This aint a review of Buc-ees, its a group of Aussies documenting their journey across the USA and sharing it with others.
Do you have any clue how many TH-camrs' only intentions are to "put a damper on things..."?
Excellent video. The best Bucee's reaction I've seen
Thankyou so much, we only film our honest reactions and nothing is planned as we see it you see it 😅
I love watching foreigners get excited about the awesomeness of America makes me realize how good I got it just curious do they have a drive-up window where you can get pretty much anything you want liquor bread milk those places are awesome 😎👍
Hi Cody! Thankyou for watching, you do have an amazing country and we love to explore, enjoy and share it with the world.
As for the drive-up window im not sure, but it’s bucee’s so anything is possible! 😜
