It didn't even go the full 1/4 mile...you see it crossing the 1/8 mile mark...where the Porsche caught up...but if you look at the footage, the ET clock is next to the 1/4 mile line (which is normal)...but in the "photo-finish"...you don't see it...even when they show the video of the two vehicles racing toward the end...you can clearly tell its the 600 foot mark...because A) its definitely too close to the start; B) its the only clear mark on the drag from the start (the 660 foot mark is the first)...and you don't see the ET clock next to the line....so...did the Tesla truck beat the Porsche in a 1/4 mile drag race, while towing a Porsche...no clue...because we haven't seen that yet...but it clearly can beat it in the 1/8...and given how much ground the Porsche cleared from the start to the 660 foot mark, my money would be on the Porsche in the 1/4 mile
Even more, on some other tests the worse Porsche 2023 911 did a much better time on the 1/8. So, either the Porsche's Pilot was bad, or he was restraining himself. In both case, it's just a fake.
That's not a ¼ Mile Run, thats Sacramento Raceway which is a ⅛ run, the 911 catching up at the end catching up would of absolutely demolished it in an ACTUAL ¼ run 🤣🤣💀
At the end. How far of a gap are we talking, would it even be a gap? But you would agree that the cybertruck would be right behind the 911 right? Cause i mean, it showed them almost at the 1/4 mile line and they were neck and neck. So, maybe half the porsh more than the bumper of the cybertruck? The.... 11,000lb cyber truck vs the 3500lb porsh? Yeah, that sells me. Also, 911 times are about 11.4 on the 1/4. Cybertruck without towing is less than 11. Get smoked.

Comparing a RWD, Manual Porsche with 283 kW to a AWD, " Auto " Cyber Beast with 630 kW and it still got it's ass kicked in the 1/4. They could have easily beaten the Porsche without the stupid towing factor added, but no. We had to be deceptive about everything. The CT is probably the fastest pick-up available to date. It sucks at being a off-roading pick-up, but the fastest nevertheless. There was no need for this nonsense.
So Tesla or Elon, care to explained why EngineeringExplained and MotorTrend got different results ??? Also where's the full video of the race and the slip ?? so we can compare the result to MotorTrend
Cybertruck cyberbeast has 845 horsepower, the 911 which seems to be a standard 992 carrera has 385 horsepower, but still they did not even beat it in the actual quarter mile, while towing a 911, they beat it at the 1/8 mile. If you compare the Carrera’s actual quarter mile of 11.5 seconds to the cyberbeast’s quarter mile of 11 seconds without towing a 911, you can see that there is no way it’s beating the 911 on the quarter mile while towing a 911! The cybertruck is slow. It has the same 0-60 as the 911 992 turbo S, and has a way way way lower top speed than the turbo S has, even though the 911 Turbo S has 650 hp not 845 as the cybertruck has. "I asked MotorTrend for their 1/8th mile time for the 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T (7MT). They confirmed it at 8.0 seconds and 93.1 mph. That's FASTER than the Tesla towing a 911 did it (~8.25s), and ~0.38 seconds FASTER than the Porsche 911 alone did it in Tesla's video. This implies the 911 beats the Cybertruck (while towing) in the 1/8th, as well." - Engineering Explained

I'm a huge Tesla and EV advocate, even though I currently drive a v8 sports car ( still drive a tesla too). This video is can't be true at all, unless the races against a 992 Carrera T M7 which is dumb IMO. Stock a Cybertruck runs 11.0 @ 119 according to Hagerty's tests. It was around 11.2 according to carwow's test against the hummer EV pickup. A stock 911 base RWD according to caranddriver does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 11.5 sec @ 120 mph. While the 911 Carrera rwd is cheapest and technically should be the slowest, it is not. That would go to the Carrera T M7. According to caranddriver, they could only achieve 0-60 in 4.0 seconds and 1/4 mile in 12.2 @ 116mph. Now times would be dependent on the driver since it all comes down the shifts. Okay so lets assume a stock Cybetruck does 10.9 because tesla claimed under 11s and the Carrera T does 12.5 because the driver isn't the best shifter. This is all best case scenario for the Cybertruck by the way. The cybertruck is towing another a trailer (lets guess 1000lbs even though it likely is more) and another Porsche which weighs roughly 3300lbs according to caranddriver weights from various base/s/t 992 911 porsches. In other words the the cyber truck is pulling another 4300lbs at least is my guess which definitely adds more than 1 second the 1/4mile. I know that because in carwow's video, they tried to make the race more fair for the Hummer EV pickup by adding 4 additional passengers to the Cybertruck. They were all full grown adults who claimed to weigh about 85kg or lets round to 190lbs. 4 x 190 = 760lbs extra weight which resulted in a 1/4 mile time of 11.5. In this video we are guessing the Cybertruck is pulling an additional 4300lbs. 4300/760 = 5.657. In other words the cybertruck would require an additional 5.657 x .3 (according to the difference in carwow 1/4 mile times with 1 vs 5 passenger in the truck) = 1.69 or lets round down to 1.6 second. So 10.9+ 1.6 = 12.5 seconds. This is literally the best case scenario in every possible way for the Cybertruck just to be equal with the slowest 911 with a meh driver shifting the car. I call BS as someone who drives a Tesla and a V8 muscle car.

False advertising. Musk said the Cybertruck would beat a 911 towing a 911 "in the quarter mile". Not true. This is an eighth mile drag race at Sacramento Raceway. It's also a manual 911T. A base 911 would beat the Cybertruck towing a 911 by almost 2 seconds.
Wait a minute....something's up here. They only show them cross the 1/8 mile where it appears the Porsche is gaining. The aerial view cuts off well before the end of the 1/4 where they look to be even. Something's going on.
think about the motor and league next time before commenting. an electric care always accelerates faster, even the worst ones. the top speed is garbage compared to the 911. if they would have continued, and not just made a short drag race, it would have zipped past.@@SpoonTheZach
@@zero.Identity If they chose a Carrera 4 with 420hp it would have won easy. Put the truck up against a Turbo and the truck gets smoked, even without cargo. If we look at the power to weight ratio the Truck has 273.34hp per ton and the Carrera has 256.67hp per ton. So the Truck is still expected to win. Plus, the instant torque from electric motors is hardly an argument against a real engine and someone who botched the gearshifts as indicated by the 911s nose dipping every now and then.
Get smoked.

Try with turbo s
Specs:
Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast:
Horsepower: 845
Top speed: 130mph/209kph
0-60mph: 2,6 seconds
Weight: 6603 pounds/2995 kilos
Quarter mile: 11 seconds
Porsche 911 992 Carrera
Horsepower: 385
Top speed: 182mph/293kph
0-60mph: 4,2 seconds
Weight: 3317 pounds/1505 kilos
Quarter mile: 11,5 seconds
Porsche 911 992 Turbo S
Horsepower: 650
Top speed: 205mph/330kph
0-60mph: 2,6 seconds
Weight: 3615 pounds/1640 kilos
Quarter mile: 10.1 seconds
So the fact that Tesla say’s that the cybertruck is faster than a 911 on the quarter mile while towing a 911 is completely false.
This implies the 911 beats the Cybertruck (while towing) in the 1/8th, as well."

Wdym it’s just not real? It is. The evidence is right there. If your that upset that you are going to do 2 hours of math then just don’t worry about it.

think about the motor and league next time before commenting. an electric care always accelerates faster, even the worst ones. the top speed is garbage compared to the 911. if they would have continued, and not just made a short drag race, it would have zipped past.@@SpoonTheZach

I would love to know the pre and post battery charge level
Now we’re talking.. maintenance per mile, battery life after 1000 charges unchanged? Battery life expectancy? I get it, it’s badass because it’s bulletproof and fast and powerful… but reliability and cost effective and ease of use? Not yet I don’t think
Bruh... Everybody who knows how a dragstrip looks like, or has a general understanding of imperial range probably notices the error here.
I’d like to do this outside Scomo's house, the ex- prime minister of Australia.
He famously said about EVs "they wont tow your boat, & will ruin your weekends" Lmfao!
What does a few pulls down a drag strip have to do with pulling boats? Apples to oranges
@@callumdonington2227
He was disparaging EVs because he thought they couldn't tow anything.
He is an idiot, and likely being paid off by Toyota and the fossil fuel lobby in general.
I hate to break it to you but they aren't used for towing because of the range not because they can't do it
Can't wait to see the results if it was against a 911 Turbo S :)
without the load?
Looked t the specs and Porsche 9-11 turbo has 0-60 of 2.6 seconds which is same as highest trim tri motor cyber truck. But highest trim cybertruck cost 100,000 while Porsche cost 230,000. So cyber truck is not only faster, but has better value and utility.

This is a ___ing Pickup, and its pulling a car too. That is the most ridiculous comment imaginable.

Ok, it finishes the 1/8 mile faster against a manual 911, the lightest 911
As usual, Tesla cheated and lied:
Engineering Explained

There is also camera trickery involved the cybertuck is actually in front of the porsche at the starting line that's why there is no overhead shot of the start. The camera is set up at a slight angle to make it look like the front of the cars are in line. and the shape of the cars make it more dificult to see the camera angle trickery. but you can clearly see it when the camera starts moving the porsche is a bit faster in taking off, but the way the camera moves it makes it look like the ct is taking off faster at about 00.33 the ct is about the same speed as the porsche. in the cam angle from the front of the porsche the speed of both cars stay the same for a couple of second at about 02.88 the cybertruck starts going faster than the porsche. if it wasn't ahead at the start the porsche would have even won the eight mile.
It's actualluy quit the angle if you check on google earth you can see the blue piles in front of the concrete walls. and since they are not evenly space with the gaps in the concrete walls you can see exactly which pilon is which and where the camera was positioned and at what angle it's shooting and than you see how much the image is skewed to get the porsche and the ct fronts to line up it's more tha a couple feet so the ct would definitely not win the eight miles the lead the ct has at the end is less then the lead it had at the start.
1. That was an 1/8th mile race, not a 1/4 mile
2. The 911 was catching up and would've beat it at the 1/4
3. The 911 is most likely the 911T which is slowest due to having a manual gearbox
The video is misleading, which is a shame because the feat displayed by the Cybertruck IS amazing and commendable.
Now do it with a 911 Turbo S, and not the base 911.
Do it with the falcon 9 rocket, not the truck 😊
@@Hunter_Bidens_Crackpipe_ Looks like somebody is on the Acoustic Spectrum.
What an L comparison.
while this is really impressive, i gotta say they probably cheated a bit to get this done. if you watch closely, you can see the 911 starts without its launch controle (listen to the sound of the engine, it starts revving from down below also, pay attention to the body movement of the car.) so this would probably beat the cybertruck with its launch controle active. still, this is a very impressive achievement considering it having to tow all that weight.
edit for reference: here is a base 911 launching WITHOUT launch controle and im pretty sure this is the same rev pattern i can see and hear in the tesla video. th-cam.com/users/shortsJb4LaULlXFM
This is also literally an 1/8th mile track.
Cant forget the trailer is most likely aluminum
It kinda seemed as the Porsche was going to pass the truck it let off as the nose dove quite a bit. I’d be impressed even if the truck lost an honest race but I’m kinda getting skeptical of Tesla as it seems the demo comparisons are always rigged.
@@htfab9251so? It's still a trailer with a Porsche on top.
Also it seems like a Manual Gearbox Porsche, meaning there are short dips in poweroutput which you can clearly see as when they shift the porsche starts to fall back a tiny bit. Automatics are better for dragraces #savethemanuals
Scam advertisement. Cyber truck is a scam. Giant POS.
actually no, they removed around 200 pounds from the trailer but it is still very impressive.
@@plot5975 cyber truck couldn’t beat the slowest Porsche 911 with a manual trans
@@plot5975 Tesla not only removed weight from the trailer, but used the slowest 911 with a manual transmission, only showed an 1/8th mile because it actually loses the 1/4th mile (engineering explained proves this), and some other trickery with the trailer to make it go faster.

Elon, we are not IDIOTS, this is 1/8 mile, this is a 911 carrera T, the basic model. Don´t mess with the KING. in a 1/4 mile race against the Turbo S, you will loose badly. The cibertruck is a bad truck with cool enginearing, that is all. Toio many batteries, too many weight, too many energy to move. This type of vehicles used to go to walmart will ruin the world. We don´t need this, we need a properwehicle under 2tons with quality contruction.
