a friend was given a 2500 v10 when he bought his home. he hated the look of it, but was amazed how every time he started the truck, no matter what the temperature was (-20C to 30C), it started every single time on the first click. he ended up selling it in pieces.
Dude that thing sounds killer! Sounds just like an old diesel. I have always enjoyed seeing these V10 magnums but always seen them breaking down and needing expensive repairs but that could just be the owner not taking care of their stuff.
47/48 hybrid is the way to go, but I’ve been boosted with my v10 for 2 years on the stock trans with 202k miles and she’s still pulling strong as can be.
Yeah we need more of these, there needs to be brands to build fam kits for these and I think that’ll help make so much power, intake manifolds would be a plus too
I remember my was a 1999 3/4 ton 4by with the V10 she sure could haul what ever you wanted to!! A great motor maybe one of the best big blocks for hauling!

Plus this guy is running a stock auto trans and babying it, these v10s were tuned down from the factory to keep from grenading the trans immediately. He could’ve beaten the guy if he wasn’t afraid, he was maybe half throttle. I’ve beaten some 2010 era Hemi rams in mine with the manual and not babying it. They won’t win most races but I will argue that they’re faster than he portrayed it in this video.

I swap my v10 to manual and I used flywheel input shaft clutch pressure plate form Cummins I took the flexplate and flywheel to machine shop done that 2 years ago and it’s running strong
That turbo really saved the exhaust sound but I would say that you should run it a little further down because I can here the blubs😂 it sounds amazing though
It needs to get dynoed and probably a built trans or manual swap so you can go full throttle with it. That’s why I sought out the manual when I got mine, they tuned these engines down from the factory to save the automatics from grenading. Look into Flyin Ryan performance, they tune these trucks regularly and have gotten a dyno proven 100lbft of torque from just a 91 octane tune. These things have a lot of potential, just no aftermarket support

Were you able to use the factory computer? Did you have to upgrade the fuel pump or injectors? How many pounds of boost do you see? If driven responsibly did the fuel mileage increase compared to stock?
Get you a big s300 turbo for it. Itl come on much faster than the s400 will. Then get a 47re built exactly like you would for a cummins probably a stage 2 or stage 3 kit. And then have a converter custom built for your combination. You'd come into boost instantly and it would still have it's powerband just much much broader. I think your on to something here!

Get a lower stall speed converter for it, i did a stock rebuild on my transmission with a custom valvebody plus a 1700rpm stall in mine and It responds alot better off the line!
You would think a lot of the performance tricks that work on the Viper V10 would work on the truck V-10. I am reading a lot of the Viper V-10 engine parts aren't interchangeable but I question the validity of it. Might involve some machining to make parts work but it isn't impossible or is it. Years ago I helped on a poly 318 based experimental engine. It was 90 over and swapped to 360 J heads to fit into an early Dart. Had to modify the water ports in the heads to match up to the polyblock, run an LA cam and valve train and put steam holes in the block. For the first time anyone had done that it worked out better then we thought it would. People might want to start looking at the two V-10's again and how to make the parts work together. Maybe its impossible but maybe with a little creativity it's not!

That intercooler is too small for a v10 with a s480, sounds like it won't spool up I've had that problem before I see you giving it throttle and it's trying but not going nowhere

What tuning software did you use? I have the big crower cam and 1.6 ratio rockers. I never tuned it after the cam and know that there is so much more power in it.
My buddy used to have one of those but 4 door and it was a beast ended up taking it to a mudbog event and could not get it stuck no matter how hard we tried (didn't try 2wheel)

Easier to modify, work on, better fuel economy.

Yeah it cost a fortune to daily my 95 v10 i had. It was a workhorse though. Even with bad valve stem seals it was hauling tons of rock in the bed.

The v10 mopars have this distinction in sound from others, and for some reason it sounds like a diesel especially when it has a big ass single turbo
Its the displacement. Foreign V10's (Lambo, Porsche, etc) dont tend to go above 5 liters.
