This is my favorite Rig Rundown ever. I love how less than half way through the video it seems like they are done going through the gear, and Jimmy says that he can take them backstage to show them more gear. He wasn't kidding...holy crap! It's cool to see such a seemingly nice guy be that enthusiastic about gear.
This was a lot more enjoyable to watch than the Rig Rundowns of current bands in the touring circuit who are all like "yeah I don't really know.. my tech does all that.."
without a doubt the best Rig Rundown Premier has ever done. Vivino's joy in describing the guitars is evident, sprcially later in the last segment. If you love guitars, as I do, pass this on to your friends.
I just started watching like the first 30 seconds and just laughed so hard when he was saying how Conan has better gear than he does, and he helped him pick it! Reminds me of myself and my much more privileged friends as we build our pedal boards :P
This is seriously one of the best--I know it's a little older, but I LOVE that you guys showed all the backstage/rehearsal and let Jimmy and Mike go into such detail. I saw Conan filmed in Chicago and cannot stress how incredibly talented the band is. What you see on TV is 1/100th of their serious talent.
Is it spending time w/ RD (sorry for the cheap shot) or are these guys feeling honored to be asked to rundown their rigs? The humility and general enthusiasm with which they conduct themselves; and why not, how awesome to be playing for Conan (guitar freak) for 19 yrs. Died and went to heaven.
This was one of the best rig rundowns!!! Jimmy Vivino is so cool and such an awesome player. You can really tell how much he loves talking about guitars....and Bigsbys!! ...and Rebecca Dirks is pretty cool too!
For those curious the exact slide he has is from a cool company called Songhurst Rockslide who make some of the best slides around. I have two of them myself and they are awesome
I love that they did an overview of Mike's gear, too. I started playing the bass, and moved to guitar... which I play more of now. The bass is still my first love.
I love watching rundowns where the person has an unusual situation. It gives a great perspective. Jimmy's so open and anecdotal. And Rebecca is adorable so that's a recipe for success
I like these rig rundowns a lot but this one, in particular, was just amazing! i really liked seeing and hearing about jimmy and mike's stuff. just great!
Jimmy and Mike seem like salt of the earth cats who just love music and gear. What a great Program....I had never heard of it before, now I can't wait to start checking out the rigs!!!!
Ahh man I love this, I watch Coco every night so seeing Jimmy talk about his gear and seeing behind the stands was just awesome Thanks Rebecca! (Marry me)
Haha, I love Jimmy, just after the 25 minute mark ''that was my one indulgence'', in a back studio full of boutique and vintage equipment. I know he probably has a load of stuff given to him, but still, a fair few indulgences nonetheless. =P Beast of a player. And Mike Merrit is incredibly awesome too, what a nice guy.
Jimmy Vivino is a very friendly guy. Up until Conan moved his show away from New York, Jimmy was Willie Nile's lead guitarist. Willie Nile has been touring and performing since the 1970s. Amazing poet and singer songwriter combining the writing style of Bob Dylan with the rock edge of Cheap Trick and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
I love the electric pencil sharpener sitting on top of Jimmy V,s Brown Princeton amp around 21:00.Sorry it was Barry's Princeton The old 70,s electric sharpener .
"Will you look at the flame on that one?" "Never been touched by human hands...don't touch it, don't even look at it!" LOL! Had a Spinal Tap flashback when he said will you look at the flame on that one! They seem like really cool guys.

Which guitarists say that?
@@ryanperson6307 many might not say that exact...but many have an attitude...I don't care. I don't know. This was cool to watch!
JIMMY VIVINO HIT ME!
TWO TIMES
THREE TIMES
ONEHUNDRET TIMES
Elite reference
*They can't count that high*
Jimmy he is my favourite guitarist
I'd love to spend a day with this guy talking about music and guitars. He seems awesome, and knows his stuff.
A rig rundown with Conan would be hilarious.
What an awesome Rig Rundown. Jimmy and the guys have some absolutely amazing guitars there.
without a doubt the best Rig Rundown Premier has ever done. Vivino's joy in describing the guitars is evident, sprcially later in the last segment. If you love guitars, as I do, pass this on to your friends.
Talk about the greatest gig in the world. Being a member of the band of a talk show has got to be the perfect gig.
This is hands down my favorite rig rundown I've seen.
started to watch this expecting to watch for maybe ten minutes just to see what they had. 46 minutes later im impressed with this awesome gear.
I met Jimmy recently....great guy. I love his passion for guitars and music.
I honestly love that the last like 20+ minutes were of Jimmy showing a shitload more guitars, those were all absolutely awesome
This is one of the best rundowns of all time! This is how it should be done. So much passion for the gear. Good job Rebecca.
Jimmy's guitar collection is just wonderful. Such a great guy!
I just started watching like the first 30 seconds and just laughed so hard when he was saying how Conan has better gear than he does, and he helped him pick it! Reminds me of myself and my much more privileged friends as we build our pedal boards :P

Mike Merritt is a natural teacher... lol... He's talking like he's teaching someone how to finger-pick a bass.
I was thinking the same thing. What a nice enthusiastic guy. Great gig to have too.

This was one of the best rig rundowns!!! Jimmy Vivino is so cool and such an awesome player. You can really tell how much he loves talking about guitars....and Bigsbys!!
...and Rebecca Dirks is pretty cool too!
Jimmy really appreciates gear and so do I. Great rundown really enjoyed this :)

He almost had me crying there at the end talking about that last guitar.
"Mapleneck" ...a famous town in New Jersey
That was an epic rundown. Always cool to see a top-level player that really is a fan and collector of the instrument.
For those curious the exact slide he has is from a cool company called Songhurst Rockslide who make some of the best slides around. I have two of them myself and they are awesome
One of the best rig rundowns yet. Jimmy knows his guitars. Anyone with half a brain can appreciate that!
Jimmy Vivino, a total legend. Beast of a player.
I love that they did an overview of Mike's gear, too. I started playing the bass, and moved to guitar... which I play more of now. The bass is still my first love.
best rig rundown in the history of the program.
That was awesome. Ive never seen so much cool shit in one place.
Awesome. I could watch this all day. Team Coco for life!
i love these vids, keep them up, i love how you guy get great artists nerding up on their gear
I love watching rundowns where the person has an unusual situation. It gives a great perspective. Jimmy's so open and anecdotal. And Rebecca is adorable so that's a recipe for success
The late night tv guitarist thing was an awesome idea. Thx for doing it. Always watched the shows for them or the band they would have on.
I like these rig rundowns a lot but this one, in particular, was just amazing! i really liked seeing and hearing about jimmy and mike's stuff. just great!
These are by far the best gear videos on youtube, but it'd be great if they showed them playing too.
Holy shit man his collection is on point this guys the man
One of the BEST RR's.
Mike Merritt is "The Man"!

Jay Leno "disliked" this video. By far the best RR yet.
it's a shame they don't play these
If I didn't know better, I'd say Jimmy was a fan of Bigsby's...
Great rundown!

Hard Bop legend
Ahh man I love this, I watch Coco every night so seeing Jimmy talk about his gear and seeing behind the stands was just awesome
Thanks Rebecca! (Marry me)
note 4 number serial and dot on the esquier bridge plate that means its an early reissue from 1982-1989
I love rebecca
You think the interview is over and then they go to the back in Jimmy V has 60+ guitars just chillin'!
I love that switch Merritt has on his E string.
These guys are the coolest cats.... Loved this rig rundown. Conan is great also.
Rebecca's an angel!

I love the electric pencil sharpener sitting on top of Jimmy V,s Brown Princeton amp around 21:00.Sorry it was Barry's Princeton
The old 70,s electric sharpener .
"Will you look at the flame on that one?" "Never been touched by human hands...don't touch it, don't even look at it!" LOL!
Had a Spinal Tap flashback when he said will you look at the flame on that one! They seem like really cool guys.
Awesome vid, now do Conan's rig rundown.
I've watched this at least 37 times now
i think mike merritt's voice would be great for radio or sports broadcasting
Mike (the bassist) was giving away some good technique secrets about hand/finger placement around @13:10 hope you guys are taking notes.
I love these videos.
So cool. I didn't realise Conan played guitar too!
Flippin amazing!
Amazing!
Being a guitarplayer I just have to say that bass won me over a bit :)
Guitar Paradise
Awesome! The bassist sounds like super cool guy
That is a 218 Dunlop glass slide if anyone cares.
Jimmy loves guitars as much as me. Mike seems a cool guy who loves talk with eople ant tell some funyn histories. When I grow up I wanna be like them.
I like Jimmy, he's a great player and a nice guy.
This was amazing, laptop OVATION!!!
Conan's personal collection NEXT!!!
Great video

I like that Conan's band obviously spent some time thinking about and preparing for the interview before PG came.
Great episode guys! I'd love to have a beer and talk music with that bass player, he sounds like a great guy to hang out with.
