Bioshock = One of the best games ever :)
haha true
Can't disagree with that!
Very true!
I just started I'm glued. God bless
The port is ass though.
Nothing but respect for these people
Still playing and loving bioshock
Played it as a kid after football practice with friends and I love playing it as well now. In fact I've been playing a ton of Bioshock 2 and Minerva's Den as the DLC pack.
Just noticed your comment was from 7 years ago! Point stands and hopefully Joe you're still playing.
Yup, Bioshock is an all time FPS RPG classic. Great, fun gameplay, plenty of choice and customization, excellent narrative and world building, fully realized characters, immersive and dark atmosphere. Still waiting on Bioshock 4!
1 was the greatest overall package. Bioshock 2 has the best gameplay. Infinite.... well infinite was good for what it was, but felt like a step back to me. Story and gameplay werent as good. Im looking forward to trying their new game Judas. @Peanutdenver
“we didn’t want to make a boss fight with a guy in a jar”
bioshock 2: makes a boss fight with a guy in a jar
Aren’t you clever?
Seriously, 2008 was such a great year for gaming.
+RedLightning007 It came out in 2007 lol
+Tehh David fuck!! Lmao
+RedLightning007 fallout3 did come out in 2008, so yeah 2008 was still a pretty good year for gaming
+Sven Van Mansom Gta iv as well.
MBM1117727 didn't play that one yet
This is still my favourite game.
One of the best things about this game is the audio diary’s
Bioshock is the best saga of videogames of the History !!! I love Bioshock
Guzman Machado ya but the ending was horrible
+IamJacksColon4 I think the ending was pretty good
+IamJacksColon4 I think ending is absolutely terrific.
Best saga? Personally I disagree.
Guzman Machado Bioshock 1 as a stand alone title is near perfect and truly phenomenal. Bioshock 2 has amazing gameplay but the story isn’t as engaging and the gameplay is a little too formulaic.
Infinite is by far the weakest in the series but still a pretty fun game
The film "Dark City" from 1998 seems to have been the inspiration for some concepts and ideas in Bioshock, the injection "needles" with plasmids in Bioshock looks a bit like the ones in "Dark City", and the Bioshock creators' former game "System Shock" has the AI/woman with the same face as the face in Dark City covering the clock underground.
Can't remember the story but that movie was an editing disaster. Torture to eyes.
@@hadeseusLate response, but you probably saw the Theatrical Version where it feels like there’s a cut every 3-5 seconds. That’s the first version of the film I saw, and even though I loved the movie, I was really thrown off by the editing.
You should definitely check out the Director’s Cut. It’s a much better version of the film, and the editing is way less frenetic.
@@caflagel Yeah, I guess I saw that one many years ago. Thanks for the info. I will check the Director's Cut, because I love Bioshock games.
@@hadeseus Sweet. Enjoy. 😊
One of the best games ironically helping us to eventually achieve our dystopian dreams.
compare to today's recent video games, 2008 was such a golden era for gaming...
*2007
This is so rich! Thank you
Love the Bioshock story, it would make a great Tv series
Guy in the jar/savant idea obviously influenced the character of Gil in Bioshock 2.
Unfortunately yeah.
@Marm Marm I'm saying the guy in the jar is unfortunate.
35:00 - take a shot each time she says "like"
nostalgia (for simpler times)
38:16 That guy is thinking about how little he talks.
She just interrupts him so much.
2000-2012 by my opinion this was the golden age of video games but now there are these microtransaction loot box bullshit
A masterpiece in an amazing decade of game releases. Was definitely peak-era for me growing up during my high-school years!
Was very jarring at first hearing Shawn Robertson refer to the OG Xbox as "Xbox one" during this interview 😄
I'm playing it for the first time, and people are right. It's a masterpiece.
9:24 ...sounds exactly like interacting with npcs in bioshock infinite
Especially during some of the quieter moments where you’re not shooting at everyone and everything lol
Poor Nate, we all wished the Slow Pro made it in.
24:01
The one thing that makes this game funny is the fact they used the car crash sounds from the destroy all humans and saints row games for the big daddy bodies in addition to the environmental objects when they are sent flying around
Great and informative! Thanks!!!
The dog with its hind legs bound in a wheelchair sounds to similar to the Pinky demon from Doom 3
Bioshock is the best FPS
This Predicted XBOX One (2:00)
Yes I Know He Mean The First Official Xbox, But Now It Sounds Like A Foreshadow
Also Have Not Played Bioshock But Heard Great Things About It
“… it was on XBOX 1” yup that’s what we used to call the original xbox before that horribly named system came out. If Microsoft paid any attention to the Xbox fans they would have known that.
nice, the slowpro is the rumbler from bioshock
the sounds is the game !
Where the heck is the behind the scenes footage? Gameplay? I honestly expected more than just interviews.
Quit your whining and enjoy the stories.
Icon of Sin Really? It's the only making of for a game that doesn't actually have behind the scenes that I've ever seen. It's just pure laziness.
Agreed, this is a retrospective, not a making of
Wow, what a team!
First *SWAT4* and 3 years later *Bioshock*
...So, howzabout a *SWAT5* ?
Bioshock is a masterpiece, shame that 2k Australia (one of the developers who made bioshock), have been shut down
I'm pretty sure Ken Levine is the Joker.
The original demo was on Xbox One
lol you mean the original xbox lol not xbox one
@@michaelhawkins7389 No idea I was probably trolling unless there is something specific I was replying to but this video is 40 minutes long so I'm not going to watch it again to find out
I have this Game on the Xbox 360.
He looks like Charlie day if he was half spider
It looks like all these guys listen to Panic At The Disco and that makes perfect sense.
人生で一番好きなゲームです!尊敬します!
27:05 - 29:45
If only modern devs wanted to actually make a game like these devs.
2019 anybody?
BioShock1 super Ok.
They just dont make games like this anymore.
When the gaming industry actually gave a crap...
38:50 they married yet
Pretty sure that dude is gay
Ahhh
Mind blowing game back in 2008. Great gameplay, and very peculiar mood... However, it gets repetitive, and the tasks given by Mr on the radio make some parts boring... really... Anyway, great game overall. Made by passionated interesting people.
calmo subscribe
Kline's almost as pale as me!
:)
Once like you know like how often the sound lady likes to say like. It’s like so like annoying.
The creators' hairstyles and clothing just scream 2000s haha
Since it was in the 00's... it makes sense
@@CbaDropDead it's very 2000s even for the 2000s is what I was saying
Sound girl using mind control to get likes.
The Making Of Bioshock (as also expanded upon by the Post Mortem on Gamedevelopers):
Starting out with a much depeer experience, then having the playtesters decide over the course of development to "evolve" it into a straight shooter. Unfortunately one that is pretty barebones, completely linear (to a fault), doesn't have great gunplay -- and a finite set of enemies thrown at you en masse over and over. Irrational weren't specialized on straight shooters (and started Bioshock more as an FPS/RPG experience true to their heritage), and it showed. But they finally wanted to make a massive blockbuster and went along to it regardless. Had System Shock 2 focused as much on constant combat, it would have beeen just as meh.
Were it not for the setting and the twist (pulled straight fom System Shock 2 to the few who had played it beforehand), nobody would talk much about Bioshock today. Still, it's better if people still talk about Bioshock than Generic COD clone 2007. It took 10 years for Arkane to release Prey -- a game that finally offered some of those amazing choices Ken Levine was hyping up to be in Bioshock when they clearly weren't. To his sole defense, in particularly at that time audiences in particular on consoles were used to extremely scripted set piece shooters, where you're running from point A to B and triggering enemies as well as cutscenes in between (see the funny "Duty Calls" pishtake video still availalbe everyhwere). So he had to win those over as well somehow.
This documentary needs to be remade its kinda boring
I hated bioshock
Ok
Your loss
Bioshock hates you
Whos here in 2020 after just starting bioshock 1 and re realising how fun and amazing these games truly are
I’m 27 and never played these games and I just beat bioshock and hopped right into 2. I’m so dump for sleeping on these games. Bioshock is now in my top 5 games of all time!
@@Boomlahood there really good for sure
2024....Love Bioshock 1 and 2. Minerva's Den iin B2 is one of my favs from the DLC
