First of all. You should be buffing with a vacuum on that buffer, you are scratching the shit out of the coat with the dust balling up on your paper and 2nd of all, especially all of you watching or reading my comment, it is best to buff after the 1st coat if you are doing a 3 coat system. Why, because the 2nd coat will lay very smooth, cover the micro scratches the paper is doing, and you will not need to buff for the final coat. You can go back on top (hot coat it's called) with in 24 to 48 hours and it will bond.. Don't ever dry buff without a vacuum on the day you plan on coating, why, because all of the air is filled with dust particles floating around for several hours. That was not smart. All of the dust will contaminate the final coat. Even if you think it's clear by eye, it is not.. I personally recommend bona Delta sheets and conditioning pads to buff in between coats for a perfect finish. Always use a vacuum when buffing..

    Hello,
Just wanted to thank you for all your help. My order was screwed up by FedEx delivery but eventually got it corrected. Anyway, I followed all the instructions given by your via phone on how to finish my Brazilian Tiger wood floor. I am not just happy but extremely happy with the results. Its incredible how there aren't many options out there to get Bona products. I followed all your instructions and got everything you said and the results were amazing. Thanks!

you should attach a vacum to your buffer - to keep the dust down and help to eliminate swirl marks

Trick is to buff the floor in between coats not to take varnish off so aggressively.

What kind of driver pad are you running over the maroon pad? Seems like this method would work for screening before stain with 100-120 grit as well. Looks like a 16 inch pad as well?

Could I use a 14x20 oscillator and a maroon pad to clean/buff then apply poly when I'm done?
