A first class video description of how to apply a floor finish. I appreciate how you did not cut in more of the floor than you were able to cover with the lambs wool applicator. That keeps the finish level and even near the edges where many people tend to put to much finish. Great to see a random orbital being used to scuff the floor rather than an orbital. I always enjoy watching what you are up to. Your videos are great examples of applying craftsmanship and thinking ability. Thanks for sharing this video.
Superb job considering it was done with handheld sanders. Bravo! I wonder how long it took though. I think most people would be shocked to find out how long it would take to do that by hand.
I was lucky to have a company that bills itself as "dustless" floor refinishing. However, my floor was coated in 1/8" of floor wax from previous owner and it gummed up much of their belts.
Even when this dude works on something as simple as refinishing a floor it still seems mythical to me, especially when he gracefully applied the finish with that long handled brush.
You probably dont care but does anyone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the account password. I love any tricks you can give me

Job done so well! It looks so satisfying only if others are doing it :D I am a kind of person that would hire someone for this task too. Because, that's literally a difficult and time consuming task. Why don't you hire any one too? There are so many, one of them is Wayne Maher Hardwood Flooring. He gives free in-home estimates for flooring installation, repair, or restoration.
Lift the drum (big drum sander) whenever you change direction. It will leave a grove where you change direction even if you think you change direction fast.
How do you people manage to stay as subtle and flexible as a new born baby whilst i can't even put my bloody socks on? Great job and work as always too.
Every day, move every joint in your body. You don't even need to do sports. Just "exercise" your joints. They are a perishable "perk". Grandpa got to live to 102 and that was long, long after he stopped working the fields, he was spry like a fly because every morning he would move about putting all his joints through the motions.
I like two coats of sand seal and then two coats poly. But you can do three coats of poly instead. As long as the sanding is good, it should come out good either way.
Doin some mighty fine work in your house man, doesn't it feel great when you actually do it yourself !! I followed the kitchen cab build with great interest as my effort at the same is coming soon .... thanks for all the tips man... Love from The Emerald Isle 😎🤗☘🍺

I thought a 3 different grit pass is standard from what I noticed, although I am no expert. I assume this depends on the floor condition. Would you rather recommend for a older floor but not bad shape, something like 50, 80, 120?
Wow...Finishing the work with a hand-held sander! Take a bow!

I'll give him credit for using mostly hand sanders but that'd take too long and so much work. can't imagine what it'd look like stained though.
The trade likes to look around ...🤫
Always nice to see someone doing a project with care. An almost guaranteed satisfying and beautiful result.

Very nice work! The guys that finished our floor left sawdust, dirt and hair around the edges, lovingly encased in polyurethane! Yours look great!
I was lucky to have a company that bills itself as "dustless" floor refinishing. However, my floor was coated in 1/8" of floor wax from previous owner and it gummed up much of their belts.
Turned out very nice.
Wow.. what a change.. my back hurts only watching the video 😀. Great job.

The floor is beautiful. But, then why wouldn't it be? It was done by the best woodworker I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Door bonk at 2:26. Awesome! If you don’t hit trim, you aren’t sanding hard enough.
Nice job mate, Well done.
I like your two-step with the mop/brush!
This is worky, I have been there, nice results
It doesn't matter what project you're working on, it's always a joy to see you work!
Great job. Love it.!!!
Thanks.

You started with the drum, not sure why you went to the belt sander! So much more work with the hand tools. Looks good from here there.

Wow impressive for do it yourself project.
Could you tell me what the blue patch is for filling the gaps in the hardwood floor? Thanks a lot
Everything we have come to expect. Brilliant work...

What is the big sanding machine call? I like it.

Bon travail👍👍👍👍👍👌
So Awesome Man Great Job 👏💪
i’m surprised you didn’t take your router and put some nice dark wood inlays in there. the floor looks great!
Looks awesome!
I love it, well done !
Como se llama la primer maquina que usaron para lijar o quitar la pintura del piso
Do I need to do finishing on my newly installed hardwood floor. Thank you
why need to sand the floor after the first coat ??? can i apply the second coat with out sand??? thank for anwser
The timber furs slightly.. it 100% does need a fine sand between first and second coat..
The first coat raises the grain and makes it rough. So screening in between coats is essential.
I want to know why it's to polish it after the first coated?
I am curious why you did not remove the floor heating registers? They just pull out and then push back in.
How do you people manage to stay as subtle and flexible as a new born baby whilst i can't even put my bloody socks on? Great job and work as always too.

Awesome job
So BEAUTIFUL 😍 now come do my house. 😆

QUEDO GENIAL!

👏👏. Looks awesome
I actually like the floor without stain. It looks brighter. How would one go about sealing without staining?
I like two coats of sand seal and then two coats poly. But you can do three coats of poly instead. As long as the sanding is good, it should come out good either way.
Bona Traffic gives a nice, non yellowing finish.
Very nice work! Looks great compared to old surface!
Why did you stop using the big floor sander?
I have the same question? the why did he stop using the big drum sander?
Nice job! - Any wood sealer applied and how many coats of poly ? ...
8:26 how do i get the camera?

Hi Young Je I would like to know the brand model of the equipment you use, the make and model of the paint, thank you.
What did you do after the 1st coat of polyurethane? Sanding with what grid? or buffing?
I want to know the same answer.
Thanks!

Супер👍👍👍.
What kind of floors are these?

That’s why professional use 220v belt or drum sander b2edger and 16 inch buffer…faster..

yes
Se ve lindo y se viera mas lindo si las paredes fueran en Blanco o crema

근데 하나 더 알고싶은게 있어요.

남편이 혼자 나무 바닥을 샌딩해야 하는데 처음이라 모르는게 많아서요.
Yea, your worked her! But the whole floor with a handheld belt sander!? “C’mon man”

The Polyurethane is Semi-Gloss ??
👍
I think everybody works different even the process too. I work really different
36 grit it too strong. should use 60 grit to remove finish and any scratches and dents, then 100 grit to smooth
I thought a 3 different grit pass is standard from what I noticed, although I am no expert. I assume this depends on the floor condition. Would you rather recommend for a older floor but not bad shape, something like 50, 80, 120?
