  • Hello everyone, Let's make the perfect Waakye recipe (rice and Beans)
    we all love waakye, especially when it's perfectly cooked! try this no fail recipe and thank me later xxx Thanks for your time! see you soon xx
    Ingredients:
    2,5 cups red cow peas or black eye beans
    3 cups rice of choice
    2 litre hot water
    salt tt
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    7-8 strand waakye leaves (sorghum Leaves)
    2 tbsp coconut oil

    I like the cow pea used the touch of coconut oil is awesome. This weaker will taste devious looking from the preparation and how it turned out.

    My dad like this beans so always want mum to use it but since I became a woman and not living with my dad,I have never use the red beans for waakye before. It looks very inviting

    This is perfect indeed sis, I haven't tried the red beans before will definitely try on my next waakye I will be making 😃the coconut oil added too to be honest I haven't either with waakye😅 soo good I've learnt something new today here, with that stew 😋

    We Nigerians Pronounce it as "Wanke" good to learn the Real Pronunciation "Waakye" without pronouncing the K. I never knew the Sorghum plant was the Secret to the deep Redness...Interesting! 👍🏼

      Hi 2,5 cups of red cow peas is 500gr, 3 cups of basmati rice is 636gr hope this helps 🥰
