Steam Controller 2, Deckard VR, Steam Deck 2... 2025, 2026 and beyond is going to be very exciting for Steam and Valve... way more exciting than Switch 2 or anything going on with Nintendo.
Nintendo used to be the company we looked to when it came to gaming innovation, but now it's all about Valve. Also, the only people who genuinely cared about Nintendo's innovative ideas, like gyro, etc, were always a niche bunch, and that niche bunch are now being better served by Valve.

Dualsense is the perfect joystic with a trackpad and gyroscope, the only problem is the compatibility and drift.

Trust me dude, if you ever get Half-Life Alyx, it's worth every penny for the VR Headset. I got a Quest 2 for it and that game blew my mind.

My body is ready as I've waited years for this!
I've got 3 controllers in my gaming setup that fill most of the roles that I need for PC Gaming: A Steam Controller, PS5 Dualsense and the 8 bitdo pro 2 controller.
But man, if its true that Steam Controller 2 has all controls of the Steam Deck then that will be an S-tier PC controller. This can potentially rival a mouse and keyboard in terms of versatility, making it a perfect secondary option for it. I can't wait!

I love my steam controller. Specifically for Binding of Isaac where the touchpad allows you to completely switch direction without stopping fire which is useful with some items/characters and impossible on analog sticks.
I'm interested to see where valve takes the second version.

I literally think, if they’d have gone all in and removed the analogue sticks all together it would have been fine, just dual symmetrical trackpads on the bottom and a d pad and Abxy buttons on the top.

i love my steam controller... really is great. especially for racing games or mining simulator :D still use it now and then.

It would be really cool if someone updated tutorials on using the steam controller. All the ones I've seen are past 8 years doesn't even have the same UI. It would help the new people who looked into getting one

If valve did it right, would be easy to reach the touch pad and use them for long point of time and not go to far off from steam deck lay out so people brain not like ok what controller this? where put my fingers? how to hold? and be cheaper on if valve to use same joystick and buttons and track pads as the steam deck and then easy to repair and use the kits for the halls joysticks and so on.

if they made it touch screen steam controller it would fix all the bad things about track pad gaming. and touch screens software is now quite polished and simple to use.. i think thats about all that missing from the touch pad gaming experiance... steam controller is only guilty of not enough time in development, and not enough versions.. if steam controller was produced for 10 years, we'd have a dope game pad experiance given from the gaben
