Welcome to Peterson Family Farm. On this TH-cam channel, we plan to show viewers what happens on a real life family farm in Kansas. Hi, Kendal and David! Congratulations on the arrival of little Ada, and the new little heifer. I had to smile when Is saw the "heater box" because it looks just like a dog house - with adaptations. So your little doggie had her own dog house. I wondered if there would be some benefit to stack a couple of hay bales (the rectangular kind) alongside the heater box for added insulation, taking the location of the heat source into account. Anyway, this city gal always enjoys your videos and I can only admire your fortitude and industry to get out there and work when the rest of us have the luxury of being indoors.

Like getting the calf to sucking the cows milk immediately after birth.
In the first few days after they give birth, cows (like all mammals) produce a special milk that is full of antibodies and growth factors. Bovine colostrum - the milk produced by cows in the first few days after giving birth
That's a beautiful new baby girl you and your wife have to join big sister! Congratulations! It's unfortunate that the temps got so low just when its time for so many calves to be born, but your hot box really came in handy!
