      Yes, I was pleasantly surprised myself. Great to have this kind of tone live without having to use a microphone!

    Great vid just what I needed
    How many lines can the axe fx run
    For example is it possible to run vocal mic / acoustic guitar and bass simultaneously through the pa for rehearsal and gigs ??

    • @LeighRatcliffe
      @LeighRatcliffe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Will depend m which model and how many effects etc you run the Axe 2 will have less cpu than the 3 so won't be able to run as many fx I've got a 3 and can easily run two guitars or two basses but a third might pull it up

    Dude, thank you so much for making this video! Very helpful! You´ve got a great voice, one queation: Did u use a mic Pre before the axe or did you get directly into it ? hang on cheers

    • @LeighRatcliffe

      I believe it's possible but you may run out of processing power. Give it a try though and let me know ;)

  • @DavidBarrowIII

    How do you monitor the vocal mic? What is the routing? I can't hear my mic in the headphones.

    • @LeighRatcliffe
      @LeighRatcliffe  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David mine is running into my audio interface into 3 channels. Output 1 is guitar in stereo and output 2 is vocal (I'm only using a mono line for this) then I'm using my daw for playback (which is running into my headphones) tbh I've never tried to monitor from the axefx itself so would have to experiment to see how to achieve that)

    • @MoXyiD
      @MoXyiD 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LeighRatcliffe I monitor with the axe fx itself, and it sounds great. I have some Yamaha powered monitors communicating via XLR. Mega easy. I am going to try vocals out today because of your video!

    Great stuff bro. Does you mic go in a preamp first? Then axe 3?

    • @LeighRatcliffe
      @LeighRatcliffe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Can do, but doesn't have to. Mine is into a pre amp ;) (RNP FMR Audio)

    • @champnessjack1154
      @champnessjack1154 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LeighRatcliffe Great video, thanks. But you do need the preamp, right - the K2 needs phantom power and the AXE-FX III doesn't provide it.

    • @LeighRatcliffe
      @LeighRatcliffe  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@champnessjack1154 the K2 comes with its own power supply and also lets you pick a polar pattern so with that particular mic you don't need a mic pre.

  • @gerkirschbaum
    @gerkirschbaum 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you go straight to the axe with the mic, or do you use an external preamp for this, since the axe has none built in?

    • @LeighRatcliffe
      @LeighRatcliffe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So in the Tone Match block under Config you can select the "Reference Source" You can either choose USB 1/2 and ran audio reference from your DAW and use your audio interface and my mic pre that way (This also allows you to use your plugins in your daw to further sculpt your sound if you choose to). Or you can choose "input 2" and plug the mic directly into the Input 2 XLR on the back of the unit. Hope that helps :)
