That's called being able to sense a magnet and misinterpreting your senses. He knows when _something_ is passing and there's a bunch of things like sound, wind, etc. that he can latch onto that will prevent him from differentiating nothing from magnet-which parts are because of a magnet and which are just because something's moving near him-which can lead to confusion.
Maybe lol... If that were true though there would be a clear opposite trend... as it is, the results are consistent with random results. Of course, what is really needed is a much larger sample size, maybe 10,000 trials divided among several different people :)

Up to 6:06 I’m under the impression the magnet makes the brain think “heavy” and the weight he’s just guessing.. or it’s a lack of that “heavy” feeling. Cause every time the magnet comes around, he says “weight” and every time the weight comes around he says “magnet”. that’s the same difference no? lol
My husband brought home a stack of 4 N52 neodymium magnets. I wanted to see if there would be a bond with my hand in between. As soon as I put the first magnet on top of my hand, I felt it! I immediately thought about those bracelets. My brain was firing off with whats and hows. That’s how I came across this video. I have fibromyalgia and have a specific spot where there is always pain. I asked him to put the magnets on that spot. I was thinking it would increase blood flow or attract blood to that area. As soon as he touched me, I instinctively took in a deep breath. It didn’t stop the pain but it was very relaxing. That’s the only way I can think to describe the feeling. Just a feeling of relaxation. I started rubbing the magnets all over my body lol. It was so soothing. I tried it on my husband and he could feel it too. Afterward, we were able to stick forks to our bodies!! 😅 I wonder if that is why you guys were able to feel the weight. Maybe the magnet created a strong enough field around you for you to be able to feel a pull from the weight
I found the book under your couch and I see one under your dresser. I also found the sock sticking up out of your dresser drawer. Man, I’ve played way too many room escape games

The truth is that placebo effect is very strong. If you believe something helps you, especially in subjective things like happiness or “energy”, it usually does:)
Oddly, I thought the plastic coating on the weight may have picked up enough static charge to cause _some_ kind of influence interpreted as 'magnet'. They should look around for something made of steel, heavy, without any coating.
WOW, well this proves neither of them have a steel plate in their head ! lol Good job you two. Your wife did a great job and did not seem nervous. I like the out of the ordinary experiments you do.
Doctors have been using magnetic pulses to treat depression for a few years now. First they direct the magnetic waves to a focused spot in the brain that forces your thumb to twitch and from there they know where they're aiming and they can use the pulses to attempt to stimulate the areas of the brain that may be malfunctioning or under developed.
I think if the magnetic fields where only a little bit stronger like a MRI machine can I think we humans can possibly sense it. Correct me if I am wrong. Is it possible?
If you enter the bore of an MRI quickly, you can definitely feel an effect. It can make you nauseous and dizzy. This affect is usually not noticed when you are a patient since the "bed" slides in slowly.
As we all that there is a preasence of fe(iron) in our blood but still we are diamagnetic( repelled by magnets) maybe we need a infinitely strong magnet to fell the preasence of those magnetic fields
Science Central I think there would be a difference because vacuum has a different permeability then air but it would probably take tools of very high precision to see it.
KingofHearts67 what I think is the magnetic attraction in air must be weak as it acts as a insulator. just like u place something just dense as air for example a copy between the two magnets then the attraction is weaker
I would say the experiment showed that we DO have some weak ability to sense magnets, because with both tries the right/wrong ratio was strongly leaning towards wrong, even though it should've been 50/50.
A moving magnet induces electric current. Moving your head near the magnet (or moving the magnet near your head) induces a small current in your brain. People working near MRI magnets experience dizziness and other effects.
A strong magnet may in some people increase the clarity of the mind. And is noticeable when touched to the cranium. It also can cause one to blackout. Don’t try this experiment if you have some metallic clips in your brain, not a safe experiment to do. It will however effect the water in your body. MRI works in that way.
I have been putting magnets on my temples as an experiment for the brain fog I have from Lyme disease, the attracting sides facing inwards. I feel better and happier after ten minutes but using them for twenty minutes makes my body feel hot. I haven't tried facing the attracting sides outwards yet but I am tonight. I just wonder how safe this is. I don't really want to permanently mess with the few brain cells I have left lol. Any advice?
Rohit Kataria no you need echo location to sense the area around you it wouldn't help if you could only sense the magnetic field trust me I would know because I'm blind
A neurologist once said by putting a magnet near the left front of the brain can cause an out of body experience, what's your thoughts on this, Thanks in advance
Do you have fillings or crowns? A powerful moving magnet will induce a current in crowns. That might be another interesting thing to investigate. Spin the magnet rapidly near the head. Also, your non-magnetic control should be a similar size, weight, and shape as the magnet. Even with a blindfold, you are likely aware of the different ways the two different object move the air around your head. With respect to iron in hemoglobin in blood, you are correct, but what might surprise people even more, is that iron in some molecular bonds becomes diamagnetic. I believe this is the case in hemoglobin.
I think for the magnet vs weight experiment you should use a a peace of steel in place of the weight as the weight is covered in rubber or perhaps even silicone which may hold static charge which is easier to detect due to it's attraction of small hairs and perhaps some positive ions such as potassium which are on the opposite end of the spectrum of the triboelectric series compared to the negatively charged silicone
The way birds detect the magnetic field lines is most likely via an optical effect happening in their retinas and polarized sunlight is required for it to work. So you probably don't wanna do this indoors and blindfolded but do some experiment with open eyes under clear sky.
I have had a few MRIs of the brain. Both times I had visual effects. When you close your eyes and look at a light source you can see a solid color that is reddish-brown. I stared at that and noticed symmetrical shadowing, like ink blot tests, that continually moved. The style/type/movement of these shapes seemed to change as the sounds of the machine changed.
Thinking that it was just my imagination, I tried to imagine the shapes to move differently or change shape. I was unable to make any changes with my imagination.
1. Everytime you should also have spoken why you feel iron/ magnet. 2. 3/10 tells me you are actually feeling something otherwise probability should have made it 5/10. Men and women do have magnetic reception, just not of the frequency of the small but strong neodymium magnet. Our magnetic reception is tuned to the "earths" field. It actually effects us in a very subtle way. Our orientation in relation to the "earths"" magnetic field affects our orientation in relation to the setting of our body clock. IE, if you sleep with your head facing north, our body clock begins to align with the "earths" day clock and we awaken when the sun comes up and start to shut down when the sun goes down. If we sleep with our head to the south, then we wake up properly after the sun goes down. All other orientations of our bodies in relation to the "earth" will change our body clocks accordingly. Whilst we might over ride this to some extent. We tend to be less able to comfortably follow the earth day pattern. Also, when we sleep on coil sprung beds, the coils create small magnetic fields which interfere with our bodily magnetic torus. Magnetic fields have frequency and this is what makes the difference between the fixed frequency of a magnet, and the rhythmic fluctuation of the "earths" fields.
Man you are changing lives day by day I have never been more interested in science before this please don’t stop making videos man

If you (mankind) could do something like that then it would have been awesome coz then blind people could sense presence of Magneto right?? 😁
Rohit Kataria no no
Rohit Kataria no you need echo location to sense the area around you it wouldn't help if you could only sense the magnetic field trust me I would know because I'm blind
DUDE YOU HAVE ONE OF THE STRONGEST NERF GUNS ON YOUR DRESSER. The Rival DU DU DUUUUUUUU lol
Can you try to smash the corner of the magnet onto your head real hard?
That would kill him or at least seriously hurt him
I guess that's exactly what the suggestion implies lol
King I guess you don’t like his channel huh?
Gamer Girl101 love his channel, what are you saying?
King is that a joke
A neurologist once said by putting a magnet near the left front of the brain can cause an out of body experience, what's your thoughts on this, Thanks in advance
first
nice!
I watch you regularly and relive my childhood while adding insight to the physical world around me. In my school days I had a personal lab (in just one box) and did a few micro disasters.
Rakesh Kasba, India.
You should put Joanna in more vids. She's super cute (i mean that in a nice platonic, non-pervy way), and you guys definitely make a fun team to watch.
Let´s be very honest this channel is pretty unique i mean u think it will be boring becase it is science but all of this is very intersting
Until the end when he explained how the iron in blood is not magnetic I thought I had found an 800 dollar assassin.
