    Thanks very much for the detailed review. Question, you mentioned you wear contacts - how is the usable eye relief with glasses? I wear glasses and generally need 18 mm of actual eye relief or more depending on the height of the eye cup when fully retracted. Looks like the eye cup is very mininal when retracted (which is good for glasses) but I'd love to hear your opinion.

    To be able to have 12x with the same footprint as 10x EL with the same field of view and the ergonomics is huge.

    The headrest is worth getting for these in x 10 or x 12, it does work very well to reduce tremor whilst viewing.

    For years I experienced the same diopter 'issue' with my Zeiss Conquest and Victory were i had to set it to -1 for a sharp view. Now with my NL Pure's it's at 0 dead on. (I have perfect eye sight) Goes to show how good the optics, build and QC are at Swarovski.

    Thank you for this very informative test. I am a photographer and a polar guide and binoculars are my first tool for looking for bears on the ice... in particular. I have old 8x30 SLCs which still work great but want to invest in a newer 10x42 pair and the NL Pure look great! However, I have read on some foreign forums that these binoculars posed two major problems: 1/ condensation on the exit lenses (next to the eyes) especially in cold conditions (much much more than other top-of-the-range binoculars). This would be due to the abandonment of the treatment of glasses with SvaroClean which would contain PFCs harmful to the environment. 2/ Glare problems in bright light conditions (snow, water, reflections...) which would be due to the fact that the inside of the frame is not black over the entire body of the binoculars (unlike the Leica Noctivid ). Do you have an opinion on these two points which are essential for me given my use (use on the sea, in the Arctic > snow, ice, water, strong contrast with negative temperatures)

      These have been tested down to -25c as part of their operating claim, haven't they?

    I have the Leica HD-R’s and think about going to the NLs and a dedicated Leica rangefinder. What do I gain optically coming from a high end rangefinding bino compared to a non rangefinding pair

    Is the optical quality of SWAROVSKI NL Pure the best among all binocular brands? Is its clarity and true color reproduction the best in binoculars in the world?

      Have you tried the Leica Noctivid?

    • @alex781021
      @alex781021  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mauriciolacruz Yes, superb optics. You can’t get much better. I personally preferred them over the Zeiss SF’s but it starts becoming subjective to the users eyes. If I was forced to use one big 3’s binoculars (EL, SF, or the Nocitivid) for my lifetime I would not be disappointed.

      I try to no clean it in the field until I absolutely have to. They took a dunk in the spring the next day to get the grime off. Absolutely nuts what 16 hours a day 10 straight days will do to ocular.
