    I always notice all the negativity about buying Swarovski binos in every review because there super pricey. Yes. They are expensive.... I'm not a rich dude I promise! I've owned 10x50 EL's and I have the 15x56 SLC'S now. This is how I look at it. Maybe lay off the thousands of dollars worth of beer you buy a year. And all the other crap you don't need. And put that towards the best binos on earth (Swarovski) you're going to own these the rest of your life. When you use these in the field in low-light. There is nothing else on Earth that comes even close. But you have to use them in the field to appreciate this. 5 + hours of glassing and no headaches. No cross-eyed Vision. Nothing.... but you have to actually use them. And compare them to the Walmart specials to appreciate this.... looking at them in the store does no justice.

    Thanks for the video Cody and Brady. I can't say enough about the 15x56 Swaro SLC binos Cody sold me in August. Game changer and amazing glass. I might have to start saving up now for these 8x Pures. I know I won't be disappointed after seeing what the 15x56 glass on a tripod let's me see so comfortably.

    This year Purchased 12x42 and 8x32 for my wife. Game Changer. We have four days in the woods during archery and glassed up so many elk, around 40-50 per day, stalked on a monster 3 of those days and got within 20 yards twice before they busted from the beds we watched them bed in. The elk just pop out in this glass. Last year we were using leica trinovids and cl companion for the wife. With three rifle tags in our pocket we head up tomorrow for a week to fill our freezer. The 12s on our slik tripod is the way to go. Now if they just made a range finder bino with ballistic software in the 12s, that would be my go to bino

    Good down to Earth review Guys. I have been an optics nut for 50 years ,for Astronomy ,Nature ECT. In my humble opinion the 10x42 are the cream of the crop at the moment. My previous go to glass was the Zeiss 10x42 SF, especially for Night Sky views but these have them beaten. I almost prefer the view of these to my Zeiss BGAT 15X60, ( almost ). So now it's over to Zeiss or Leica for the next move.

    Thank you for this very informative test. I am a wildlife photographer and a polar guide in Svalbard and Antarctica. Binoculars are my first tool for looking for bears on the ice... in particular. I have old Swaro 8x30 SLCs which still work great but I want to invest in a newer 10x42 pair and the NL Pure look great ! However, I have read on some forums that these binoculars posed two major problems: 1/ condensation on the eyes piece lenses especially in cold conditions (much much more than other best binoculars). This would be due to the abandonment of the treatment of glasses (SvaroClean) which would contain composant harmful to the environment. 2/ Glare problems in bright light conditions (snow, water, reflections...) which would be due to the fact that the inside of the frame is not black over the entire body of the binoculars (unlike the Leica Noctivid ). Do you have an opinion on these two points which are essential for me given my use (use on the sea, in the Arctic > snow, ice, water, strong contrast and negative temperatures). thanks guys :)

      @stuartkerr2205 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you have answered your own questions. Given the environment you work in I would consider the Zeiss Victory SL. I have the Swarovski 8x32 EL and I have noticed glare. I'm thinking of selling and getting yhe Zeiss. Hope this helps

    I’d like to comment on the NL as a chest glass vs tripod glass.
    I purchased the NL to hopefully have a lighter alternative to my current favorite glass which is a 8 x 56SLC HD. As a chest glass the NL is obviously much lighter, & is truly the clearest glass ive ever owned,…. & ive owned many pair of alpha glass over the years, swaro (nl,el slc), zeiss, Leica, you name it ive probably owned them….im a fortunate & lucky man. That said, the NL does have some glare issues, an issue my big SLC’S, my current SF Zeiss, & Noctivid do not suffer from. The 8 x 56 SLC HD is a radically different glass than the 42 mm SLC HD, the 56 is far superior optically, much clearer, much brighter with a different prism system…. i just wanted to get that point out of the way. Now the NL is a better chest binocular, its 13oz lighter, & slightly clearer, though on a tripod for western hunting, especially for Marathon glassing sessions, the NL just doesn’t compare to the big SLC. The view I get with the larger 7mm exit pupil needs to be seen side by side on a tripod with eye cups all the way in to really see the huge difference. …yeah & about that fov, The slc fov is 400 feet at 1000, while the NL is 477. I’m sorry but with my eyes, the SLC is showing me a larger fov when I compare them side-by-side on a tripod. I’ve seen a lot of glass, and while the 477 is impressive, I still see more with the SLC’s. All I’m saying here is try before you buy. The NL is a phenomenal glass, heck i bought them, but I can honestly say if I’m spending many hours behind the tripod and only had to pick one, I’ll take the 56 any day…..glad i dont have to make that decision.
    Keep up the great work guys, love the channel!

    Crazy that Cody seems so fired up about the 32 objective version. Have y'all noticed any noticable difference in light transmission between them and the 42 objective? If not then why wouldn't someone save on the weight.

  • @willfalkner4936
    @willfalkner4936 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cody/Brady: Question for you guys: Backcountry hunt next fall - if you are using the Swaro 15x56 binos in a tripod plus Zeiss 8x32 in your chest rig would you also justify a spotter for verification, maybe the Razor 10-33 x 50 spotter or even a 65 mm objective or is that just beyond what y'all are willing to carry weight wise by throwing in the spotter? The 15x56 SLCs Cody sold me will always be with me - they just make the hunt so fun. It's like an IMAX movie in your face all day. But at several miles with 15x I couldn't get the details I needed in a few instances this fall.

    I will purchase the nl 8x42, which is current second best bino in terms of 8 power. Obviously, the best one should be nikon wx 7x50, but when we talk about the size, the nl pure 8x42 is the best overall. Great video btw.

    Cody 2 questions for you:
    Do you know if the repackaged SLC's as Kahles Helia S's lost or gained anything or are identical clones?
    Do you have any experience with image stabilisation binoculars? I am very intrigued by the Sig Sauer Zulu 6's 10x30mm and 16x42mm binos. What do you think of them?

    Question and help. I’ve been considering the NL’s for some time
    Now. My only hold back is that at closer ranges, say inside 50 feet, the image is very flat, 2 dimensional. Is this typical with binoculars?

    Yall suck. Just happened across this video. I have the 10X42 NL's and love them. didn't even know they came out with the 32's. at over 7oz lighter. Those are some I might have to go look at. I'm gonna need one of you to fly out and be character witness at my divorce proceedings. Also kinda like that Orange. easy to see if they slide off the quad or anytime they are out you know right where they are. the 32's only loose 4 FOV and for the most part are probably still brighter than most any 42 bino.
