I 100% agree with you and although I'm more of an old school heavy rock/metal fan and have been to many rock/metal concerts in my time. Not one of them even came close to being as good as when I saw Janet Jackson in concert during the Rhythm Nation World Tour at Wembley Arena in the UK back in 1990. Although most people say that The Velvet Rope is her best album. To me it will always be Rhythm Nation 1814, I feel this was the best album she ever made, because for me it wasn't just the music or the different styles of music that she sings. It was the social issues that she was singing and saying that affected me and still does even now.

I totally agree with your ranking. But the velvet rope album is iconic because at that time, it saved more than one life for the lgbt community. It’s nothing today but at that time the songs freexone, tonight the night, together again, Wyatt about… There are calls for acceptance of difference. We feel sadness and vulnerability throughout the album with the Wong everytime for exemple. It’s her most personal cd and hard to record, according to her because she addresses very personal topics such as domestic violence, racism, homophobia, aids... for many it’s her best album with the Janet era. And in addition, she innovates with aphro cuts, piercings and tattoos... rare at that time. thanks U very much for all yours Janet vidéos.

@@SalRocha Yes Sal I think the album gonna be a little sexual cause she was teasing sex stuff promoting the album and tour before Covid strike I wish she still release the album already her fans are getting reckless over it now but Janet love making fans suffer for something new lol she does have a song coming out soon with her long time producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis they have a album coming out supposedly Janet and Mariah will be featured on some of their songs.

I was never a fan of any of her newer stuff post the super bowl. Her 90's stuff was so good. Her stuff with Kayne and Nelly just never really grabbed my attention when I was in college. It was a complete shock for a lot of people after the super bowl.It was either her or Madonna to see what the trendy now/ pop song would be. I really think that Beyonce took over her spot. Her newer stuff wasn't as good as her 90s stuff and her stuff with Tupac and Busta rhymes lol! For me, she lost her spark at being trendy at around the Super Bowl controversy. I remember Discipline was her comeback (so to speak in the black community) and those Tyler Perry movies. I started listening to her again. The Velvet Rope album was also so cool/trendy. Nobody was doing what she did during that time period, if that makes sense lol! There was no Gaga or Beyoncé. You're a-little younger than me, and I agree with you 100%. Doesn’t really matter was also a huge hit and one of my favorites.
@@SalRocha No problem! I like hearing it from your perspective. It brings back a lot of good memories! You also would have really enjoyed Aaliyah and Toni Braxton during that time period. You would have loved junior high/ high school during that time period. Keep up the good work! I really enjoyed this review and discussion.
I would rank "All For You" much lower than where you have it. Wait, you don't like "Pleasure of Principle" but you like "You Can Be Mine"? LOL!!!! "He Doesn't Even Know That I'm Alive" seems like a "Dream Street" song. I prefer the album version of "Any Time, Any Place". I pretty much agree with you rankings, though, EXCEPT for "Unbreakable". To me, her top four albums are "Rhythm Nation 1814", "Control", "Janet." and "Velvet Rope".
"Dream Street" is also my least favorite, BUT "You Don't Stand Another Chance" was the BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, in all fairness, it was at the beginning of her career and she didn't have the input that she had starting with "Control". Before "Control" she was being "controlled" by her daddy. Her debut album was GREAT! Only three songs. . .are you kidding? No, sir! I didn't skip ONE song on the album. If course, I'm 53 so the album was in MY time. But maybe you need to listen to the album again with this in mind; IT WAS THE 80'S!!! Please don't compare her earlier works to "Control" and after. Of course, the later albums were much stronger. but remember, the direction she went in was not her own; it was her father's. That's why her "Control" album was so important. It was her breakaway from the "bubblegum" image that Joe wanted her to have.
think the pleasure principle is filler. listened to start anew. not too crazy about it. for me it doesn't go with album. it sounds like it should have been on the flashdance soundtrack. I bought the control in 1986 and so it has a certain nostalgia. that could be part of my opinion about start anew.
Luv the mood board of artists behind you beautiful celebrities behind you with the best quality singers you can never make these type of artist again I see Madonna on there I see Celine Dion I see Janet Jackson I see Mariah Carey I see so many more beautiful artist on their Katy Perry I just don't make these type of artist anymore

Finally someone else who thinks Janet. is the best album of her, it's just so good from start to finish, not a single skip!
Down in the delta was esther rolle last film role in 1998 and she died that same year in November days after her 78th birthday but at the same time janet know esther rolle because she was on good times when esther came back in 1978 when Janet was 12 years old see esther left the show before Janet joined the cast in late 1977 for the fifth season but esther returned for the sixth and final season in 1978 to do a couple of episodes with Janet.
Such a shame! I loved her in Maude!
I AGREE☝ with your list from worst to best Album by Janet..i think i would Swamp out Control & JANET. Albums (Just Me) All depends What "Mood/Vibe" im feeling...because janet music has different elements if i wanna Dance bangers..i pick Control..Rhythm Nation more Political/Rebel..Unbreakable Free/Spirtual..Velvet rope..Dark..JANET Very Sensual..ALL 4 U/Damita Jo & Discipline..Sexy/Freaky?....And Whenever you decide to react to Janet Videos it may or may not change your list because now the Song sounds have a face on it should i say...and can you do some janet jackson live performances reactions ...AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR JANET JOURNEY👋👋👍😌

Wonder where her Black Diamond album will be ranked whenever she release it 🤔
We will just have to wait and see!
Funnily enough, the 3 lowest rated ones are the ones where she didn't have any writing credits on, or work with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
Sal I hope you see this. A great artist for you to react to. Alanis Morisette ( Jagged Little Pill)
How Ironic! I've listened to it before!
Nice video😍
Thank You!
@@SalRocha you’re welcome :)
26:03 - That's "Smoke on the Water" not "Black Cat". ;)

You have been redeemed i rather watch this than your initial listens lol

Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
Thanks for Sharing LB
Janet doesn’t even like Dream Street or Janet Jackson 😂she would be happy to know you like one of them
Her debut has some bops!
First Video you should react to is LOVE WILL NEVER DO. 😆
Noted!
You're so cute, Sal!!!
I try
You ranked janet jackson singles
To much to rank!
As much of a Janet fan that I am, I have to admit there's a couple few songs I just had to skip and still do skip
😞
VELVET ROPE PEAK OMGOSH
THE LEVEL OF DISRESPECT
just kidding
Or not
lol
think the pleasure principle is filler. listened to start anew. not too crazy about it. for me it doesn't go with album. it sounds like it should have been on the flashdance soundtrack. I bought the control in 1986 and so it has a certain nostalgia. that could be part of my opinion about start anew.
Thanks for sharing!
Can you please react to TLC's 5 albums?

Luv the mood board of artists behind you beautiful celebrities behind you with the best quality singers you can never make these type of artist again I see Madonna on there I see Celine Dion I see Janet Jackson I see Mariah Carey I see so many more beautiful artist on their Katy Perry I just don't make these type of artist anymore
They really don't
I just came here to disagree with your opinion on Discipline 😝
