I am 53 , brought up as a kid in an Irish family , I lived in England all my life , my Dad had a stroke aged 64 and was in a wheelchair for 5 years , I took him home to Ireland ( Celbridge 12 miles from Dublin ) for a week , he was dead a year later , but what fun we had in his home town where he was well remembered xx rip old fella

I MISS IRELAND ;) I spent summers in Ireland during my high school years and in my postgraduate internship. Now I am living in Scotland. I am a polish woman and If I hadn't met my husband from Ukraine I would have searched an irish one. I love Ireland, irish people. I miss the green Island. When my daughter will be grown I will travel to Ireland with her ;)

I really need to go back to Ireland. It really made an impression on me. It's just beautiful there and I feel the need to learn more about my Irish heritage. I was adopted at age 6 weeks. On my deceased birth father's side, I'm 19% Irish. I long to go back and never leave!

I visited Dublin last month; I'd never been there. I wandered into this lovely pub on Capel St., which became my regular haunt for the next 8 nights. There were these 3 big fellows--if you have a vision of Ford F-150s with beards & beers, you've got the picture--being loud & goofy at the bar. Then this older bloke stands up next to the fireplace & sings, "Walking all the day near tall towers where falcons build their nests..." The whole bar shuts up. The bartenders don't accept orders & people tiptoe in from the next room to listen better. In no time at all, we're joining him on the chorus: "I stood by your Atlantic sea, and I sang a song for Ireland." Halfway through, those 3 young lads sitting at the bar were all crying like babies to the point where they couldn't sing along.
And that, my friends, is the power of Irish music.

Last month my 2yo great niece was murdered. By blood I know I owe the killer a debt. As they sit in jail,.... I am free, and care for my family as I should.
