      I don't think there is any plug and play that includes everything. There is custom built arcades that use a raspberry pi with retropi installed on them. A PC is also an option. You would need a decent amount of storage to get complete Gamesets for each system. More for the "newer" consoles like Dreamcast, PS1, PS2 and Xbox. Older consoles like Atari, N64, NES, SNES take up barely any memory and can be emulated on any PC pretty easily.

    I bought myself a pre configured hard drive with tons of games and launch box all set up was definitely worth it in the time it would of took me to set all that up. Not that I can't it's just I work a lot so it saves me a lot of free time. I think for 99 bucks this thing is a pretty good deal but if you wanna play 6th gen titles and some ps3 as well as 360 emulation a pre configured hard drive is the way to go if you have a decent pc. It's just nice to have all those games ready to go on a dedicated drive and not have to go to rom sites and bounce around trying to find the right download button.

    So, I bought a Sumosys emulator system a few years ago and has 11k+ games on it. Definitely one of my favorite purchases of all-time, but I hate how poorly made the controllers are, they ALL break (B button ends up sticking) and I have already gone through half a dozen or more of them. This system you reviewed definitely has more recent generation consoles/games on it then the one I have and looks pretty good. Not sure how much it costs and whether the controllers are issue like on the system I have, but I really appreciate you posting this review!!! Thank you!!

      Yeah i got a sumosys 700 back in 2017 or 2018. I agree the controllers aren't great, one of my d-pads broke and even the player 1 usb port got so loose it would disconnect VERY easily. But also about a year ago it started glitching out sometimes and bouts of random slowdown and/or speedup would happen, in some games more than others. Got to the point where it became basically unplayable and so last week i sadly called it a day and put it away for good 🥲. $150 CAD i got 4 or 5 years out of it, not bad i guess 🤷

    This is a great buy and love having it. I wanted to add that a LOT of the games in there have multiple versions. There are US, Euro, Chinese, Japanese versions of the same game. Some, like Street Fighter and King of Fighters, have many versions. The the real number of individual games is therefore far less than advertised since the 100,000 number includes all the different versions. Its not a big deal because it’s still a huge amount of games to try.

    • @o-SPECTRE-o
      @o-SPECTRE-o ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@andrewcarpino1838 yes, they’re the same games. They mostly run as normal. You can save the usual way, as you would with the original games, and you have a separate save state option that can be accessed where you can pause and save anywhere you want (I can’t remember what the button combo is though). There is two player option, but on this machine you only get two USB ports. One is used up by the memory card that has the games which leaves one open port for the joypad dongle. You can use a separate usb splitter to connect more joypads, or in my case I just used the 8bitdo pro SN30 joypad which connects without needing a dongle.

    A fellow "Street Supremacy" enjoyer! I believe the biggest reason it didn't do well is the name. It's part of Genki's "Shutokou Battle" series in Japan. At the time most of the series had been published in the West by Crave under the fairly well known "Tokyo Xtreme Racer" branding. For some reason Konami ended up with the global rights to the PSP entry from Genki; but not the rights to the "TXR" brand, as that belonged to Crave. So, Konami had to use a new, and unknown, brand name for it. I think if Crave had gotten it and called it something like "Tokyo Xtreme Racer Portable" it'd sold considerably better.

    It's like an IKEA video game console, just put it in and play any emulation. While you can play most emulations on your computer too, for free, using Windows, Apple or Linux.
    On the Retron 5 I noticed you can play 5 different console games but I could see and hear the difference between the original games I grew up with.
    If you're serious about this, go get an old CRT-screen and every console and game cd/cartridge original. They will last longer too ànd they will allow you to put in a zapper or other light-gun.
    I have a GameBoy, GameGear, NES, SNES, SMS, SMD, SS and SDC, all original with scart cable or even antenna ànd an original arcade cabinet form 1991, also with CRT-screen. Only the micro-switces needed to be renewed.
    It was a big investment but so worth it.

    I vastly prefer the X button on the bottom, not the left, when I use a controller. Bugs me to no end that moving the x button is how they keep gamers loyal to their brand. Having to look down at the controller everytime the key prompt comes up has always slowed down my game play on Xbox controllers

    • @TheFishE77Official
      @TheFishE77Official ปีที่แล้ว

      The X button position has been on the left for longer than it was ever on the bottom, with one of the first iterations being the Megadrive 6-button (1988), in which the top row buttons the "X" was the left-most on that layout. The Super Nintendo (1990) had the "X" button as the uppermost in its diaganal layout. When the Sony Playstation launched in 1994, it was one of the first to do away with letters (typically the ABYX or ABCD) and use shapes instead. Since then, the majority still use the letter format, and more brands have used the left side layout for "X" than not.
