That looks like a very nice tv. Would highly recommend component cables especially for an hd crt. You'll be able to play games in 480p instead of 480i.
Only those who know about CRT TVs know how rare and super hard to find are these beasts. I can choose this Panasonic CRT over any PVM all day averyday. Thanks for sharing. This is a treasure. I hope one day I can find a Panasonic HD CRT. I'm always on the hunt for Panasonic curved tubes with components.
The HD CRTs are especially underrated. Yea they might not be best for 240p games but I still remember watching Revenge of the Sith on my friend’s brand new Sony CRT and the space battles looked 3 dimensional. PS2 era games looked fabulous as well.
Oh my GOD. Man, I found it. I found a Panasonic Tau 27" on FaceBook marketplace for $20. I feel like I have a is massive 27" PVM. The Wii and GameCube look unreal. I can't imagine the things I will be able to play on this TV through emulation. Even composite looks amazing. I'm so happy!
@@mikeg2491 I agree. It's not good for NES, SNES, Genesis, but excellent for Original Xbox, GameCube, PS2, Dreamcast, etc. It's always good to have an HD CRT around.
I apologise to everyone for the video quality, not sure what happened with the editing software, highest video quality appears to be only 720p. I will do better next time :)
looks good on wii, thats a heavy TV; most HD CRT dont work with oldschool light gun games, hopefully u got one that does; else no duck hunt/time crisis action
Pretty much one of the holy grails of crt's there. Very nice. Since that unit has pretty much every input under the sun i highly recommend s video or component, hell go wild and hit it with hdmi lol
This looks exactly like the European Acuity model I have. That supposed to have the sharpest image of any CRT. Picture is incredible with zero lag and progressive scan mode
Panasonic quintrix acuity. There is a upgraded version called the panasonic quintrix acuity sr. I had this tv. For my 360 megadrive saturn snes and ps1 and ps2. Its a great piece of kit. The uk version didnt have hdmi. Toshiba had a simmilar set called the toshiba 32zp18
Pretty positive that isn’t 34” I have this model TV and it’s much bigger, has HDMI and looks different altogether. Yours looks to be 30”. Still a great TV though. You might have a manual for a different model?
Haha, I feel the same. I tweaked the geometry after calibrating the convergence rings. The Samsung hd CRT’s come out with bad settings and calibrated wrongly. It can be tuned in for better settings.if you experience lag on hdmi that’s handshake issues which a dr hdmi or any pro scaler will solve.
Nice video but give the back of the tv some space to breathe this is not a good settup, so I hope that you only did it to display it quickly for the video 😅
Anything IKEA is weighted for feathers. Tip for new home owners, hit up estate sales in the old parts of town and get some quality furniture for a song.

This Panasonic must be one of the most fancy crts ever made
Yea Wii looks nice
nice unit man 👌
Despite being too heavy, this is far better than any cheap TV these days. Even a CRT wins for retro-gaming.

Show what a blu ray movie looks like on this TV.

Too bad CRTs aren’t made anymore… once these old tvs stop working, they are good as dead.
You can recap them and get another 20 years.
@@mexdrago3009 but what about the phosphor and the glass??
CRTs can last a lifetime. There are still so many available.
@@sonyx4500 there are some CRTs that aren’t working properly and CRTs are not in production anymore. These TVs are dying a slow death
@@Majin_Vegetaisovr9000 There are still many Crts out there working well. Even some TVs from the 40s are still working.
Does this TV work with 480i light gun games?
Like light gun games for the dreamcast, ps2, xbox and gamecube?
I'm tempted to buy a CT-26WX15N
I don't care how heavy my 300lb stupid bad geometry samsung HDCRT is, it's coming with me anywhere I live

How does 1080i look? Also whats the corner convergence/sharpness look like?

It weighs a ton!
Very nice
Be careful with that monster on top of an IKEA desk. No way that desk is rated for that amount of weight

Australia has a 36-inch philips I think hd crt wide screen.
I’m actually gonna pick one like that up this Saturday, there also in Europe 😁👍
@thepyroneer6295 You're so lucky. I would never tire of a crt that size.
I just got a Panasonic CT-27D11E no remote tho do you know of any universal remote I can use for tv
In India
