Comefrey is amazing. My second ever salve was comefrey and calendula, it helped heal my daughters broken neck! The doctor was shocked as he thought he was going to have to perform surgery and fuse her C1 and C2. Now did I write that formula down? No. 😂 So yes, I need to wtite it down! Comefrey and devils club has helped my Aunts vericose leg pain and sores. Thank you April. I would have been afraid to try these things without your amazing encouragement!

Thank you so much for sharing your lived experience and wisdom gained. 20 years ago I experimented for a year making a lotion bar without any recipes available at the time. We were a family of rock climbers and the chalk would dry our hands out and all that was available was a brand of oil/wax that came in a tin, pre Burts Bees, it might have been Climb On. I finally came up with one that had the right blend of oils and waxes that was soft enough in the winter but didn't turn into soup in the summer. I used to sell it in my local Rock Climbing gym and a Natural food store for a couple years. It was well liked by nurses and climbers, but the insurance cost was killing me so I stopped producing. Only make it for family now. Now in my 60s I needed to see this to gain that same young confidence I had back then, so thank you! Going to try my hand again at creating formulas for pain/healing salves.

Thank you for this video! I typically make very small batches as it's just for my household. After forgetting to label one jar of a tincture, i decided labelling was the way to go for sure, and i wrote what i did on each jar. So the recipe stays with the product because i dutifully wrote what i did in a notebook, and the notebook is MIA. Sigh.
So now, it's on the jar AND in a new notebook.
I have learned so much from you, thank you! Because of you i have comfey infused castir oil in the shelf. Thick, yes, but it works well.

Memories being what they are, it makes a TON of sense to write formulas down and how they worked.
Also you can have as you say records of customised formulations.
This is going to be something to look into for myself.
Record keeping is so important for so many reasons and a few minutes here and there make a HUGE difference later.
I like the warning you gave as well about both herbs and essential oils, thank you for being open in these issues.

The comfrey helps with the pain I'm also using a balm made by a fellow herbal witch, some ingredients are amanita, artemesia datura and comfrey, she's omitted the benzoin that I am allergic to.
This works well as analgesic and overall well being

Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe .🙂
I heard you can use avocado pits and 70% Robin alcohol.
    🤔🙂🤔
And then you can add cayenne pepper. 🌶️
You allow it to format in the rubbing alcohol for a week or two strain it out place it in a glass spraying bottles and use it on arthritis pain. 🤔
We'll have to do some of this wonderful recipe you are given for my husband Julie has joint pain . 🤔

My granddaughter has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The pain is so bad that it causes her to throw up. I'm giving her wild lettuce tincture for the pain and that seems to help. Is there something else that I can use to decrease help with the pain?

    Hey April, Love your video's.
I made an ashwagandha tincture, but it got very cloudy and sticky. It feels like tree sap and smells like tree sap. Where did I go wrong? 100 proof vodka

Can I ask your thoughts about using comfrey on a neck with hardware/ fusion? Do you think that could push the hardware out of the bones ? I have heard yes and I have heard no.

Here's an easy thing to remember about percentages...convert to a fraction, then multiply ...
    100% = 1
    10% = 0.1
    1% = 0.01
    So 1.5% of 966 grams..
    966 × 0.015 = 14.49 grams
...and grateful for converter apps on the internet...like converting square feet to acres or °F to °C.

Yep but when calculating a specific formula it's always best to check your math against a computer because little mistakes can ruin a batch 😊

Hey Mrs. April👋😁first and foremost I love what you do and can't thank you enough for the knowledge you share❤I have been following you for a while now and trust your knowledge and judgment 🧐🫡I was wondering if you could recommend like an herbal encyclopedia for lack of better words you might know of. I am seeking a book that informs me on like the qualities, characteristics, uses, and drug or, in this case, herbal interactions! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and thank you kindly again for all you do. You are truly a blessing 🙌 💖 🙏!

Why not use DMSO to get herbs deeply into skin? Also could white willow bark be added as another pain/ swelling reliever.

    • @sheisofthewoods
      @sheisofthewoods  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

It's horrible at destabilizing formulas but also please know it's dangerous. It wouldn't just "get herbs deeply in the skin" it would get the compounds into the bloodstream which can be dangerous depending on the herb. Also, it's (DMSO) really hard on your organs and a lot of the health claims people are trusting come from unfounded claims. It became a fad in 2020 and people just ran with it.
