An excellent video and shows the press nicely. Coal Iron Works should be linking your video because it does such a good job of explaining the press. I LOVE your foot pedal - good job.
It would work great to use outside but not to keep outside. Each 12 ton has a great paint-job on it, but the spots that are not painted would rust. But the biggest issue would be the electrical motor, which would obviously have issues if wet or in a super moisture-filled environment.
We purchased this press from Coal Ironworks I would highly recommend purchasing one of their presses, because every home built press we have used was constantly needing rebuilt/adjusted/repaired This is straight up plug and play, and definitely worth the investment coaliron.com/collections/hydraulic-forging-presses/products/copy-of-12-ton-mini-press-1
Edge of Normal Workshop I would love to know some of the details of how you connected the foot pedal. It looks like you have to have the unit underneath only in order to do this. A little hard to see in the video.
Absolutely no regrets We bought the machine we could afford at that time, and it opened up a world of capabilities in our shop We use it almost every day, and have built our business with it to the point we are going to be able to purchase a 25 ton Coal Iron in the near future We will be keeping our 12 ton press to work alongside the 25 ton, so we can set up multi step processes between the machines So no regrets at all with the 12 ton

Love my 12 ton! I made some dies for mine but I need to make one so I can slide the dies in and out instead of bolting them in.⚒🔥💪🏻
Let us know what you come up with. I've been working on some ideas for the same thing
@@edgeofnormalworkshop2273 slot them?
Think this press would hold up in an outdoor forge? (It would have a roof, but no walls)
