This expansion actually got me excited for Guild Wars lore again. Such a positive surprise. The story doesn't feel rushed, and the zones are fun. The new combat additions feel fresh and fun to craft with. Add in some more quality instanced content, and this is looking really promising.
Small clarification in case anyone reading hasn't played the dragon saga, no spoilers, is not like wizard ward considered the elder dragons small fry but their leader considered the dragons natural beings and as such everything they did, though horrible was still part of Nature and didn't want to intervene with natural matters.
I can’t wait to watch you enjoy more of this game! I’m just over a year into it myself, and I still feel as excited as you sound here every time I log in. Love it!
I’ve been playing on and off since beta and this is the first expansion I have finished. I own all the expansions and it’s the skyscale that has me drawn to get it permanently.
Play the way you want, don't rush it and have fun. If you aim for something big like Skyscale, Legendaries or anything in the game, the best thing to do is to avoid any burn out. But just enjoy what you like the most in the order you want, that's one of the strenghts of this game.
I think you definitely should revisit the old expansions after you finish this one. Heart of Thorns has maps that are a bit annoying to navigate, but has a lot of content and will entertain you for a loooong loooong time. Path of Fire gives you all the mounts and story that's really intense and also a lot of content. And End of Dragons is my favourite with the aesthetics and overall atmosphere of both the story and maps although it feels like it added the least amount of new content out of the three. And you also have to count in all the living world seasons which are also very entertaining. And the main thing - you just have to meet the dragons. That's the single greatest thing, seeing all those majestic creatures face to face. Also if I may suggest something to do in GW2, jumping puzzles are an awesome part of GW2 imo. It's actually the single thing that hooked me on guild wars 2. There's at least one for each of the base game maps and they are so much fun. For example Troll's revenge in Lion's arch is such an interesting jp as you literally jump through Lion's arch and reach places you wouldn't even think of getting to, it just adds to the exploration so much (if you restrain yourself from using your mounts to cheat it of course as this particular one is not antimount protected xD). Or Goemm's lab in Metrica province - my personal favourite.
I will definitely go through and complete the older expansions. They do look fun, I just want to get through living world season 1-2 first. Also I've read that the jumping puzzles in GW2 are really fun when I was researching into the game. I didn't expect that kind of feedback lol. I'm gonna get to those eventually too!
Soto is a stand alone. A next chapter. Minor spiolers there and its made for new ppl to jump right in. Its an even play field and you are able to play the game how you want really
FYI you need to complete the "A New Friend" achievement in order to use the Skyscale outside of SOTO maps, which includes maxing out the Skyscale mastery. Sorry to spoil your fun.
@@Mario_Universe It is relatively simple honestly, I got almost 60% of the collection for "A New Friend" done in 1 day, without even trying, Lol You'll prob get it done in a day or two
Im curious where you got the information that maxing out the skyscale mastery will give you access to the skyscale in all maps, because im fairly certain this is incorrect and would like to clear that up before you max it out and get blueballed. From my understanding you need to do a collection (which gets revealed after you complete the first tier in the skyscale mastery) to unlock the skyscale which can be found in the achievements tab under the name 'A New Friend'. Havent done the collection myself since i already had the skyscale unlock but from what ive heard it is also a fairly time intensive collection and you need some timegated stuff, but i can be wrong. Regardless, good luck on unlocking your dragon!
The game itself when one of those pop up tips says "You have limited access to skyscale mount while in GW2 Soto zones, Unlock permanent access to the skyscale by completing the Flight Training Mastery track." Kind of a misleading message since that's more in your face than anything that says I needed to complete the 'A New Friend' achievement. Not a huge deal. It'll make it feel like a bigger accomplishment when I get it.
@@Mario_Universe I see. I was just wondering 'cause Pistol is more of a condi weapon. But heck, it's open world, so you could technicly roll with anything.
@@barnabasszofran8373 So I was looking at metabattle and I saw an open world condi reaper build with gs and scepter/dagger (maybe it was focus). Maybe I can replace scepter with pistol?

Got it, I prefer that. Doesn't downplay the importance of the dragon conflict.

I'm so glad I found your channel! Can't wait to see more Gw2 content!
Thanks man, greatly appreciate that!

Skyscale really is good bait for players

Yup, that's what I aim to do. It feels like there's too much for me to realistically rush anything anyway
Have you been to Bjora Marches? It's a very cool map ... dark and creepy ... got some Witcher3 vibe there ...
No I haven't but that sounds awesome!

Yeah I really enjoy that. I wonder how future expansions will jump off of this
It's always fun to see people exploring GW2 for the first time. Do you stream?
Thank you! I don't stream. Maybe one day

Yup you're absolutely right. Dang it. Still better than me going all the way to Living World Season 4 I think

The dragon animations look soo smooth - wow
made a short vid to help you out with the looks but i guess u never saw it (Some Fashion Options for New Players)
I'm such an idiot, it's literally a short lol. I looked before and didn't see anything when looking under videos. My bad!
yeah Dragon can shoot very far as well like 4000 range
It's pretty fun

Flying higher, King of the Sky...
Hey, lets talk about your build.
Are you gonna play Power or Condi?
Condi sounds fun but I think I'll lean into Power since I'm more used to that

@@Mario_Universe yes, you can safely switch them up.
Also, Torch is pretty good aswell.
