my favorite "manual" move is when running lights and "sirens" at 3am you switch on siren just before dangerous intersection and switch off after crossing it
Not sure about any other province but BC that is completely ILLEGAL. I saw some very poor driving habits with some of these Paramedics. I was a driving preceptor over my 40 years with BCAS, if you are moving, AND your emergency lights are activated, then your siren MUST be activated as well, that is the law. Especially in the city like Vancouver. Driving between intersections and turning your siren off is just plain STUPID and you are asking for something bad to happen. It drives me crazy that these so called “professional drivers” drive code 3 with one hand on the steering wheel and one hand on the siren box. Don’t give me the bs that they can change the siren tone in the steering wheel crap either. It only works between two tones. What these idiots do is all done with one hand on the siren control and there is absolutely no reason for it. Turn the siren on and use the horn control on the steering wheel to change the tones. This way you remain with BOTH HANDS on the steering wheel. Where they are supposed to be as per BCEHS policy. IMPO
Love my province, British Columbia 🇨🇦 this is what many countries should emulate, that an ambulance must come first and be a smart and unselfish driver
Terrific Catches. Nice Waves From Paramedics & When People Move + Pullover For Lights & Sirens Its Better To Get The Emergency Services Arrive Quicker To The Job.
Thank you!! Yes there are great sirens here! Considering it’s not the biggest or busiest city there are ALWAYS sirens being heard 😅 ...The only think that’s missing is some American Q sirens.
Thank you! The clips in this video were actually shot with 3 different cameras, LUMIX Gh4, Sony A7 III and my iPhone! You can always see the camera used in below the video description :)
Great catches! I prefer the front lighting on the Demers units. Both the new Crestline and former Demers units have poor lateral lighting, as the 1st white (halogen on Demers, and LED on the Crestline's)are too far back, as many emergency vehicle accidents are lateral in intersections. Concerning Paramedics turning off light's and sirens in traffic, I believe it is more a question of another unit becoming available closer to the call, and the original unit gets immediately gets re-deployed as calls are waiting.
Regarding shutting it down in stopped traffic at an intersection, TGG is right. Normally the crew is still attached to the same call and just has nowhere to push the traffic safely.
@@Mastinae I have a hard time believing this, but effectively panicked drivers sometimes shoot through intersections causing accidents. In many EMS systems, the Paramedic decides if he/she will respond hot (light's/siren) or cold (without). There is minimal difference in patient outcome for most responses based on the history, co morbidity, risk factors of the patient. Unfortunately, 9-1-1 is misused and most responses are transport only, as the patient has chronic conditions.
@@garystar2398 During my time riding with BCAS as a medic student and during school it was far more common to shut it down for public safety than because you were cancelled and then immediately put onto another call. Often if we were getting switched to another call we would get the call over the air and we wouldn't shut down between going to one or the other. From my experience in the response phase your decision regarding code 3 or not will be guided in large part by call categorization via the CAD. When transporting then yes, it's going to be entirely crew driven decision making.
There’s lots of Rumbler sirens in Metro-Vancouver (mostly police cars and some fire trucks), just not on the ambulances. The advanced care paramedic cars have it though.

Idk about different province, i'm talking about different country&continent (IT)
The Carson sirens are the BEST. love their airhorn
Yea it’s a fun siren! The BCAS paramedics love to play around with it haha
Awesome, I love their sirens. When you ever visit Calgary, AHS has the most intense sounding ambulances I’ve ever seen so far.
Thanks! Cool, I’ll have to add that to my list of places/ services to record! ;)

I have to say most people do a pretty good job at giving way, here in BC 🙂
Awesome videography. Always the best quality !!!!
Thank you so much! 😌
2:28 Especially with the older ones, the manual siren is actually quite good! It's more attention grabbing yet quieter at the same time!
Yes exactly, pretty good to ‘communicate’ with drivers without stressing them out too much 😄
Love those Carson sirens. They mean business.
Yes for sure. Although to be completely honest with you I do get tired of them sometimes living in Vancouver... 😆
Always a delight to see you pop up in my subscriber’s feed! Great video, as always. :)

Da kann ich nicht widersprechen. Rot und blau sieht bei Nacht aber auch klasse aus ;)
2:37 pretty stinky recording an ambulance response in front of a garbage truck
Nice siren usage!
Oh yea, that’s what BCAS is known for! :D

a smart siren???
it sounds like some sort of carson siren.
Yes they are all Carson sirens. Newer and older models.
Quillable sirens are the coolest!

They are all Carson sirens. Not sure about the exact model.
@@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses SA500?? im not sure

I know one is the Carson SA-365 I'm not sure about the ones on the new ambulances.

Thanks!
I have this same siren. So cool to see it in action.
This siren is one of the best on the market. Especially on manual!
I agree. I have to stop myself from playing on manual.
What siren is it?
I have the same tones, but it's probably not the same model. Mine is a SA-365 Defender. It's only for single tones without lights.
Does Van have a CCU cause where I live we do and it’s still one of the old models
CCU?
