I attended an all-Black elementary school in North Carolina in the 1960s, and the first poet I ever learned about was Langston. He remains my favorite writer of all time. The first poem I learned of his in second grade was "Your head is like a featherbed." I'm telling everyone I know about this documentary.
I hurts my soul that this video has only 19k views but a Cardi B video gets 1 million in an hour. How far we have gone from what our ancestors fought for
Sexy sells and the confused ideologies which are broadly supported promote such dull hedonism, and a shallow popularity in all arenas.. But Langston is timeless. He never needed a sales pitch, just an open mind and open ears...and ready fingers to type his vision.
✨👑✨💚⭐✨⭐ GRATITUDE and Highest Heart Love for this beautiful documentary. 📖❤️🔥💯 The Great Langston Hughes inspired me early to let poetry live through me. 33:49 I'm reading on my channel "The Ways of White Folks" which inspired my first published book of poems "The Color Of My Sky is Black" 💜💯❣️🙏🏾❣️
I would love to know how Langston would feel about his former home now being owned by a white man who went through all of his personal artifacts. Considering the racial tension that existed back then I wonder how he would feel. I would love to visit his home when I go to New York next month.
I worked hard, went to white schools of my parents making… l have read about and visited the the land of Langston… but oh what I would give to have lived there!

Langston Hughes is my FAVORITE poet, writer and creator♥️🕊️
Langston Hughes - My favorite poet! I have a collection of his poetry that I've shared with students in my class for years.
We need a really good, Oscar worthy movie made about this man and the amazing time of the Harlem Renaissance!
❤what beautiful words poetry at heart

Excellent teaching tool for all ages, cultures and races.
I attended his College in Tulsa, Ok.
Thank you James for making our Family name famous and giving us a legacy
Langston lives on!
Thanks so rich. What we need is a monument with his poetry - maybe the 125th st stop. Nice mosaics but the subway entrance would be awesome
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THIS FOR YEARS! THANKS!
I am inspired by Langston!!
I love when we tell our own story

I thought the same thing. I hope the new building owner is putting money back into the neighborhood and black folk's pockets at the bare minimum.
What a wonderful man.how inspiring to all .we all can learn to live a good life..He loved people he loved life.
In my opinion I think he should have left his personal items to his children so they could pass it on to their children
@@floridajeepgirl3524 He doesn’t have any children.
