  • Today’s episode offers a reply to Tucker Carlson’s recent interview with Russian philosopher, Alexander Dugin (a.k.a., “Putin’s Brain”). Dugin offers his thoughts on liberalism and its role in the demise of Western culture. Dr. Jacobs wades through various points of resonance in their thoughts, as well as where they diverge.

This podcast is excellent. You give a really great summary of the underpinnings of the demise of the west. It all makes perfect sense. Great stuff.

Happy to see your podcasts are now on youtube, which allows us to adjust the video speed (I am super-busy and listen to all videos/documentaries/movies/interviews at 1.75 speed)! I enjoy your work! Glad to see you discussing Dugin! Also: around the 1:19:00 mark you correctly criticize the Left-Hegelians for ignoring a core component of Hegel's work; incidentally, I have friends who are both east orthodox and right-hegelians who are trying to reconcile Hegel with Orthodox theology of Palamas etc. -RSM PS I am also curious to know your take on the fordham vs. anti-fordam debate taking place in some orthodox circles. *Update: Disregard my fordham question; you pretty much answered it in the course of the [brilliant] talk!

I have an idea. I am sure that you record these sometime in advance and maybe even know several weeks in advance what's going to drop. If this is the case I think it would be neat if you could release a recommended reading list prior to the video releasing. This is the closest thing I've seen to college level education in podcast form. So I'm thinking of something where the people that wanted to could come to class having read the assigned material in advance. Clearly most people couldn't do that for every episode but it might be fun especially on a topic that is particularly interesting ti an individual

Love this podcast. Question for Doc J: if Christians all held to realism, would they no longer feel the need to do evidentialist apologetics?

Good question! I'll add it to the pile for his Q&A this month (to be released in the next week or so). Keep an eye out for that. -- JB, producer
