Today is my second day in Edinburgh, Scotland and after eating my weight in local Scottish food yesterday, it's time to get a proper British curry.
Most people immediately think of Dishhom as the go to for Indian food in Edinburgh but that's far too upmarket for us so we're heading to a little hidden gem called The Original Mosque Kitchen & Cafe for a proper Pakistani/Indian feast.
The friendly folks at The Original Mosque Kitchen & Cafe have been serving the local community for 14 years now and on this evidence, they won't be stopping anytime soon.
They have some traditional Pakistani classics like the spicy chicken on the bone curry I tried as well as some British curry house favourites like Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala, as well as some epic naan breads, kebabs and samosas.
The prices are great, the hospitality is top notch and the food is solid. What's not to like?

Interesting curry cafe there Gary. Personally I use ground almonds when making a korma & little chilli powder amongst other spices.

Gary my man when yo back in London you have to visit Lao Café in Charing Cross opposite police station on 60 Chandon place. Hidden gem you won’t regret it Best som tam Thai, great laap’s herbal & sai ua sausages. Hope you will have a chance to visit if not with camera at least to try the food. All the best!
Such a contrast from the gloomy weather outdoors & the colorful dishes indoors 🤩. Surely saves a return ticket to india for only a few pounds' worth of yummy, local Indian delicacies. Only missing is the hecticity, spiciness of India, to be found not only in your plate! Nice video depicting inclusion & diversity at its best!
