Jen is just so natural and pleasant to watch. Not overly hyped up or gimmicky in the hyped up language. Thank you for being you and stay true to yourself. ❤️
I’m quite new to your channel, and I have to say that you have the most unique videos. I loved this one as a alternative to the “ dupe “ videos that everyone is doing. Another thing that I truly appreciate about you and your videos is that, there’s no smoke and mirrors, you’re not surprised by the coverage of the full coverage foundation that you’re trying and you’re not abusing the word obsessed. I’m looking forward to your videos! 💕
@idalarsson4729 Jen was my first discovery of the beauty TH-cam world and I’ve been a subscriber ever since. Her content is amazing and she is so sincere and honest 😊
The Hard Candy eyeshadow sticks are fantastic! They glide on effortlessly, blend easily and stay all day without smudging or creasing! And they are under $6!
😂the younger generation tends to think everything is new. I remember when flare jeans came out and my friends thought they were so cool. I said those are just bell bottoms with a different name.
Omg thank you for mentioning the Tarte cheek stain! I loved that in the 2010s. These “flushed” pink tones are quite flattering on most people and I’m glad they’re back in vogue. Have to try the Kaja sticks bc I’m a one-shade shadow convert now :)
And sadly, most of them do. And quite often, they disguise it by using a botanical name. Heavy sigh. Hard on those of us with sensitive skin. I still remember the rash I got from an Origins foundation about 20 years ago...lesson learned & now I avoid fragrance.
I really do appreciate you mentioning other skin types in your reviews. A lot of your recommendations work for me even though I am more oily but the way you talk about things tells me so much more than it is good or not! You are awesome ❤️
I absolutely LOVE the Milani lip oils. I bought one Honey Fig and I liked it so much I went back and bought another one and two Lychee and another Blackberry! ♥️♥️♥️ PS I have tried the ELF lip oils and the NYX fat Oils and I like the Milani ones much better--they last the longest and have the best colors in my opinion 😎
Listening to the description of the Kosas foundation it reminds me of the Joah Crystal Glow foundation which is also infused with peptides and other skincare ingredients. I’ve been using this and it’s really good for dry skin. I know you recently mentioned that Joah is an underrated brand and I totally agree.
I love the Undone Water Blushes! I got mine from Amazon back in early December for $2.50 each. I use a brush to apply them, which gives you a little more time to work with them for an even application.
Hey Jen, first your eyeshadow is gorgeous in the video today and so is your hair. Thanks so much for the great tips on all the foundations and blushes. You are one of the very few that give your true feelings about a product and I really appreciate that. Thanks again for all your hard work. 😊
You're absolutely right! We've done product development for several prestige brands at Sephora, and Maxilip is extremely expensive, so that's likely why drugstore brands aren't using it.
I LOVE the undone water blushes. Ulta has a deal right now where you can get a free undone lip gloss when you spend $20. So you can get two blushes and a lip gloss for $20. So good.
Yay!!! Thank you @AngelaSams, for the deal happening @ Ulta!!! Headed to their website now!! Jen- your followers are all as sweet & Nice as you are!! I’m a newer subscriber & I find myself Watching your videos more & more!!
Jen, I love how you do comparisons of products and the different qualities (like fragrance in lip products) so that we can decide which item would be best for us to purchase. You always do a great job going above and beyond compared to most other TH-camrs and I really appreciate it!!
I can't wait to try the mufe foundation and I love to hear your review for dry skin!! And I love complexion crush too! Since all foundations dry me out I am hoping so much that it works for me!
I really enjoyed this video Jen. Having you show and review these new lip and foundation products was so great. The foundation looked great on your skin and I am so glad for I have dry skin too. Thanks again Jen. You are the best.❤💗💕💐🌹🌺💐
I love using shadow sticks for a quick eye look that makes me look like I spent time on my eye looks. Some of my favorites are very pricey, so thanks for mentioning the Kaja, and the about face I'll definitely try those.
MUFE Reboot foundation is amazing for mature dry skin as well, especially if you prefer a light to med coverage & a satin finish :) Clinique *used* to have a Chubby Stick line but it has mostly been discontinued except for the lippies. I use the Chubby Stick lip as a blush too & it works just fine but they don't have the eye chubby sticks anymore :( Those Kaja eyeshadow sticks look nice for quick makeup days & travel convenience. I might try one & see how my eyes like the formula. In the past any stick, cream or liquid eyeshadow has irritated my lids.
Currently wearing the new makeup forever foundation and completely agree. It’s a beautiful foundation and I love that I don’t need a moisturizer underneath it.
Hi Jen, I agree with you totally about the new Makeup Forever Hydra Glow! I ❤ it! It’s me new top favorite! Feels so good on and looks so good. I am in the same shade as you 😊
I ❤ this style of video. I can't kick my makeup addiction, but at least you can help me save some money on products I may already have a dupe for or very similar product. Your reviews and comparisons are always so thorough, and you give us a good, long look at every swatch and demo on your face. Thank you!
I also love the makeup forever foundation!!! It competes with my NARS light reflecting foundation for my fav foundation. My dry skin loved the formula and it wore well throughout the day. Love it!!!
Pixie used to have one where it’s an eyeliner on one side eyeshadow stick on the other, and a powdered shadow sponge tip applicator I think I still have my green one and it still works perfectly. I’ve used up all the shadow in it, but the liner I still have a little bit of liner left. I’m on Project “Pan it all!”
The Neutrogena Hydroboost is lovely. Not sure why I stopped wearing that-I think it was when I switched to UD Hydromaniac-a few foundations ago, should revisit the Neutrogena or the Hydromaniac for summer, they are booth beautiful. Thanks for the reminder!! ❤
I'm so happy to hear that the nyx fat lip drip oil feels the same as haus labs. I love the NYX and wouldn't want to spnlend so much more money for the maxi lip. Great job on another great video!
I am excited about the Makeup Forever foundation! I was hoping you would review it. I don't have really dry skin. However, I am 64 and looking for a foundation that I can rely on on the daily. Thank you, Jen!
I’d love to see a fully cruelty-free dupe video! I love your content, but unfortunately a good number of the dupes end up being from brands that I don’t support because of their animal testing practices (Neutrogena, L’Oréal, Revlon, Maybelline, and others). That being said, I definitely have found some great cruelty-free recommendations through your videos! I just check the brands on crueltyfreekitty before making a purchase. Currently waiting on my first Moira order to arrive 😊
Is the makeup forever hydra still one of your top fave foundation? You are my shade and skin type match. I always look to you before ordering. Thank you for what you do. ❤ You are beautiful, inside and out.
That's so strange because it smells perfumey and several of the reviews on the Sephora website also mention a strong smell. But maybe it's just certain ingredients that are creating the scent?
Thanks for the video, Jen. Did you notice that the second - I repeat, second - ingredient in the HD Skin Hydra Glow Hydrating Foundation is Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract? That's a lot of a very irritating ingredient that's also photosensitive, which means applying it to skin exposed to sunlight can cause a burn. I suggest you reconsider using and recommending this product. Also, why the heck are they charging so much for a product where the first 2 ingredients are water and lemon extract? I doubt that either one is an expensive ingredient. And you were right about the Kosas BB Burst having fragrance. It has lavandula stoechas extract and phenethyl alcohol in it. My casual research indicates that lavandula stoechas is a type of lavender. I'm not a botanist, so I may be missing something here. But it's definitely a fragrant plant. And I think you said the Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil was fragrance free? If they're advertising it as such, they're lying because the product contains menthoxypropanediol which is a synthetic derivative of menthol. Of course, they can say it's fragrance free if they want to because that term doesn't have a specific legal definition in the US. But it's still a lie. And an irritating ingredient. And re the Haus Labs PhD Hybrid Lip Glaze Plumping Gloss, I'm pleasantly shocked that there's nothing in it that I recognize as an irritant. It has a lot of good moisturizing ingredients in it, so maybe that's why they're calling it a plumping gloss. It does have ethyl vanillin in it which is an antioxidant and could give it a vanilla fragrance or flavor. But if I were in the market for an expensive lip gloss, I wouldn't be afraid to try this. I don't think it would irritate my lips.
Hi, thank you for this useful info about ingredients in several products. I too am a careful analyzer of ingredients because of very sensitive skin and lips. I left a comment yesterday on this video with a question for Jen about lip products. If you have time to read it and if you have any advice about lesser known plumping ingredients that can irritate lips, can you reply there? Thanks a lot! P.s. I think but am not sure that the Hard Candy lip product I tried was the Lip Melt tinted balm type of product. But I don't remember. Jen reviewed it on this channel last year, after I had bought it already
Wow I did not notice that but from what I understand, Lemon Peel extract is a very common ingredient in Asian beauty products. I've read that it is not as photosensitizing or as harsh as lemon juice because the extract comes from the lemon rind/skin and not from the fruit itself. It's supposed to be high in antioxidants to combat free radicals. Plus the extract that they use in skincare is very diluted and at safe levels to apply to the skin. But if you're sensitive it may be a good idea to avoid it just in case!
@@JenPhelps I hope that information is correct, but I doubt it. And I still think this is an awfully high price for a product that's basically lemon juice and pigment. The things that the cosmetics industry gets away with never cease to amaze me.
You had so many new items! Really excited to try a few of them. I received the Make up Forever foundation in a mini try out, and really liked it. Could you tell me what brush you were using when you demonstrated applying it? Would really appreciate it. And those eye pencils, they look so creamy! Writing my list to look at these tomorrow! Thanks for a fantastic update on what’s new! You are definitely keeping us all up to date🩷.
❤❤❤ Thanks Jen. I had been thinking about the Undone products but could not find a trustworthy review. Some shades are $2.50 right now on Amazon. I got a blush, bronzer and a highlighter for 7.50 total. Super excited. ❤❤❤
Hey Jen! I love this video! Neutrogena needs to expand their shade range for the Revitalizing Lip Balm, too. It's got SPF 20, a nice feel, no noticeable scent or flavor, a good price, easy to put on without a mirror, ... but a lousy shade range. Only Fresh Plum even shows up on my naturally cool mauve lips. They have all the lipcolor stick-crayons that everyone talks about, so why can't they add more colors to their SPF line? Stupid, they're missing a huge opportunity. I don't know of any other affordable lip color with SPF in it. Well, enough from me! Happy Sunday!
I have a few lip "oils' and they are all different wich I didnt expect. The only things they have in common is that they have a shine finish and feel somewhat nourishing and arent completely opaque.
Also loreal has infallible paints, eyeshadow- glitter on the other end.. an Maybelline color strike has a powder in a similar tube, not 2 in one but similar to the shadows you are explaining
Hi Jen, one recommendation/response to your question and one request: 1) Recommendation: Laura Geller makes one of those Kaja-type pencil + shimmer shadows. I don't know how long it's been on the market but I bought mine like 2 months ago from the LG site. I like the 2 or 3 I bought, but just as with the Kaja one you tried, getting the shimmer onto the sponge takes multiple dips and it's a tiny little pot, so I'm convinced I will run out of shimmer/"glitter" (it is non-plastic sparkle) within 2-3 usages. So, I doubt I will invest in more of this type of product. 2) Request: can you please do a video, if you haven't already done one, that deep dives into the plumping lip products and puts the public on notice of marketing terms and ingredients that do both the irritation type of plumping and the longer-term 'skincare' type, peptide, etc. non-irritating plumping? and examples of each product category in high end or drugstore. Like you, I CANNOT abide the former type and scour ingredients list to avoid it like the plague. Yet, last year, a formula from a brand at WalMart (I think Hard Candy) with no red flags in the ingredients burned the heck out of my lips ! It was one of maybe two or three makeup products I've returned in the past 5-6 years. I also want to know when something is a "good"/non-irritating type of plumper so I don't needlessly avoid it! A few weeks ago when I was placing a Doll 10 order (using your code!), I saw lip products that I decided not to buy because the plumping claims scared me. But then you reviewed them in a later video and reported they didn't sting! Thank you!
p.s. Maybelline Color Strike wands have the little pots with shadow sponges (mostly matte, I think, based on the two I own) but they aren't dual ended with a crayon end like the Laura Geller or Kaja ones.
I usually avoid anything that contains cinnamon (or derivatives like Cinnamyl...usually it has a similar sounding name). Also menthol, peppermint (or any other kind of mint oil). Some of them also have chili pepper in the formula which is a big no-no. But in some cases, it can be extremely hard to tell what the problem is...for example, the CoverGirl Yummy glosses aren't supposed to be a plumping formula and yet they make my lips feel numb. The new elf lip oils have the same issue and I'm guessing it's a reaction to one of the ingredients but it's so hard to know which one.
@@JenPhelps hi, thank you so much for the detailed reply! Yes, you're right, I avoid all those common ingredient culprits you just named, but as you say, sometimes there are tingling or burning products that don't have those ingredients (thank you so much for the tip about the Yummy glosses and Elf lip oils; I was thinking of trying them!) I could have sworn I read the ingredients as I always do on those Hard Candy ones in Walmart last year and I still got burned...literally! Either the print was too small and I missed a common culprit, or it's another mystery ingredient. Thank you for consistently reporting on the smell and sensation on lips of most, if not all, of the lip products you try. That info is a godsend to sensitive skinned people like me!
I noticed your foundation brush has a lot of give and seems to be pretty flexible. What kind of brush are you using? I usually just reach for thick, denser brushes or sponges, but maybe I should try another type of brush!
Laura Geller has eyeshadow sticks like the Kaja ones. They were on sale on their site around Christmas; really good for oily eyelids. They've been out for a while. :-)
Wahoo Jen is on❤❤ I just received my bottle of the new Makeup Forever foundation and it’s so good on my dry skin, I liked the previous one as well, bought the mini to try (thank goodness my shade came in that size) and when it runs out I’ll be getting the bigger bottle, I even mixed the two together and that was pretty as well. It was not glowy on my skin either, it was perfect. Did you get all those Kaja sticks from Kaja, Sephora only shows 4 colors?
I still have my elf the ones the squeezy tubes. Remember that came with the metal tip maybe it was a plastic tip but I still have them I figure I’m down to the last one it’s in a squeezy tube so I am using it and it’s sealed it has no foul smell so again another project to pan.
Thank you! My brows always look better when I can do them off camera instead of in my little mirror in front of the camera. 😂 But also I've been using the new LA Girl brow pen and loving it so much! It has super fine tip.
I love love the makeup forever foundation ❤ I am 48 and looks amazing on me .. I am glad I bought it however I only got the mini I may now have to buy the big one .. will save for the big Sephora sale ❤
Hi Jen! Do you mind telling me what foundation brush you used when you applied the foundations in this video? I enjoy your videos and I try not to miss any. 💕
Hi I am always confused about the steps for skin care what is first serum , moisturizer, primer My skin is very, very dry . I don't use night cream I know I should but are so many brands that i don't know which one to use Thank you in advance for your help
When it comes to skincare, you want to layer the thinnest products first and go to the thickest. So after cleansing, you would use toner (if you use that, if not you can skip it), then serum, then moisturizer. The last step of skincare would be an SPF (if you use it). A primer is considered more like makeup than skincare so it goes on after your moisturizer/SPF and right before your foundation. When it comes to choosing a moisturizer I would look for one that says it's for dry skin and maybe has some added benefits that you might be looking for (for example, anti-wrinkle, brightening if you have dark spots, etc.). I have a recent skincare video talking about all the steps and the products I use (I have VERY dry skin also) th-cam.com/video/w07FTkqwbyo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tDNoU4SmEb4xB--F
Jeeeennnnnn (singsong 🎶 🎵) my makeup wishlist just got a little longer 😆 I just love your videos! Yup, Every. Single. One. I always look forward to them and watch as soon as I can ❤ I love that you give us drugstore dupes or good alternatives and all the deets on the different products! You should see my makeup wishlist. I have the exact product listed and then beside it (recommended by Jen) 😂 most of them are your recommendations. So thank you! When I can treat myself I go to my list and choose something. Lord knows I don’t really NEED any more makeup, but some things I’d like to try out. I also have dry skin, so a lot of your foundation recommendations and skincare recommendations work for me. I am also fair skinned with cool undertones. I think I’m probably a shade lighter than you but I can get a good idea of how a complexion product might look on me or how it will cover any redness I may have. I also have blue eyes. They’re a little darker blue than yours, but I always pay attention to your eye looks to see what colors look best. So you’ve been super helpful! I’m so glad I came across your channel when I did. It’s been awhile now 😊 I appreciate you! Have a great rest of your Sunday 💖 hugs! 💜💕
Thanks Jen! This was a great relaxing Sunday comparitive to watch. I would like to try the Undone Beauty Water Tints, my concern is, if you don't use them for a while do they dry up?💚
I ordered the mini HD foundation this AM and picking up one of the Tower 28 lip balms today. The Dulce de Leche looks so good! The comparisons you do are very helpful.
I remember those Maybelline ones. The "color strike creme to powder" sticks. They only had the sponge on one side so they were basically eyeshadow sticks, just with a not-so-good delivery system. It always felt like you didn't get enough product on the sponge bc the eyeshadow was in the cap that covered your sponge. Hope that makes sense.
Jen is just so natural and pleasant to watch. Not overly hyped up or gimmicky in the hyped up language. Thank you for being you and stay true to yourself. ❤️

😂flare jeans is the only jeans i can wear back then without making me like sausage
I'm a sausage now.☺☺☺plus, we were so cool they have to bring our stuff back. I'm 64.☺
Agreed. I was born in 71. A lot of the stuff that was popular when I was a kid came back around with different names and marketing.
Like “flared leggings”??? In my day we called those yoga pants. 😂
Is it really their fault though ? They were born like at most 2 decades ago of course everything is new for them ☺
Omg thank you for mentioning the Tarte cheek stain! I loved that in the 2010s. These “flushed” pink tones are quite flattering on most people and I’m glad they’re back in vogue. Have to try the Kaja sticks bc I’m a one-shade shadow convert now :)

Ohwow! The mufe looks gorgeous on! Thanks for sharing the more affordable options. You're beautiful.

Absolutely luv this type of comparison video❤
Firstly, your brows are gorgeous in this video!!!!! Thank you so much for your dupes and all of your hard work 😊❤😊❤
I really enjoyed this video Jen. Having you show and review these new lip and foundation products was so great. The foundation looked great on your skin and I am so glad for I have dry skin too. Thanks again Jen. You are the best.❤💗💕💐🌹🌺💐

Your make up looks even more beautiful today ❤
I’m oily and LOVE the MUFE Hydra Glow foundation. It’s the best foundation I’ve ever tried to date.
I need to try that Makeup Forever foundation!!
Jen, Does this foundation play well with textured skin?
Thanks Jen for all the work you do for us!
I love your blush and lip combo in this video!
I didn't know the Tarte gel stick blushes were back. I love those blushes.
I had one, it had Wedding Day or something similar in the name, and I used it SO much, way past when it should have been in the trash!
Currently wearing the new makeup forever foundation and completely agree. It’s a beautiful foundation and I love that I don’t need a moisturizer underneath it.

I agree 100%, there are a large number of consumers (myself included!) where cruelty~free products are the deal breaker🐰💖
I'll be grabbing the foundation, kaja wink sticks or whatever and I'm grabbing a couple of the clinique version too! 🙌 I've been influenced! 😂👏😊
Jen, I love your channel since I have very dry skin and am close to your skin twin. Thanks for all the hard work you do on our behalf ❤❤❤

Love the makeup forever foundation, about to buy the matte version!
Thanks for saving us $$$ Jen!!!
Love your vids ! Sadly Canadians cannot order from Ulta, so your options are very important to me. Have a lovely day. 😊
Sundays with Jen! ❤ Love these types of videos!
Thank you for doing this video pleaseeeee Keep doing them
Okay this is the new high end foundation I wanna try. Could you do a top 10 of your favorite foundations, please? 😊
Love this style of video, Jen, thanks for saving me some $$! 😄

Thank You ❤ Loads of Information 🥰
You had so many new items! Really excited to try a few of them. I received the Make up Forever foundation in a mini try out, and really liked it. Could you tell me what brush you were using when you demonstrated applying it? Would really appreciate it.
And those eye pencils, they look so creamy!
Writing my list to look at these tomorrow!
Thanks for a fantastic update on what’s new! You are definitely keeping us all up to date🩷.
It was the BK Beauty Nikki La Rose foundation brush.
@@JenPhelps Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Can you recommend a less expensive one?🤗
I loved this! I like the sorta/kinda comparisons!
I love these kinds of videos. Thank you! 🌻💛
Thanks for all the great information! I love the details you provide.
❤❤❤ Thanks Jen. I had been thinking about the Undone products but could not find a trustworthy review. Some shades are $2.50 right now on Amazon. I got a blush, bronzer and a highlighter for 7.50 total. Super excited. ❤❤❤
I love this type of videos Jen.
As a fellow dry skin gal..I bought a mini of the HD hydra glow foundation and loved it.❤
Do you love animal cruelty? Because MUF tests on animals
Did you notice that the second ingredient after water is lemon extract?
I bought the Makeup Forever mini and it's one of my top foundations. I'll definitely buy full size next time.
I have a few lip "oils' and they are all different wich I didnt expect. The only things they have in common is that they have a shine finish and feel somewhat nourishing and arent completely opaque.
Ohhhh right off the bat!! Your brows look amazing Jen!!😊❤
Yes, you're right, I avoid all those common ingredient culprits you just named, but as you say, sometimes there are tingling or burning products that don't have those ingredients (thank you so much for the tip about the Yummy glosses and Elf lip oils; I was thinking of trying them!)
I could have sworn I read the ingredients as I always do on those Hard Candy ones in Walmart last year and I still got burned...literally!
This is fantastic! You’re so creative!
Laura Geller has eyeshadow sticks like the Kaja ones. They were on sale on their site around Christmas; really good for oily eyelids. They've been out for a while. :-)
I agree about the MUFE glow foundation. It is really pretty and lasts all day. 😊
Yes they sent them to me in PR...I was surprised that Sephora didn't have the full range!
I still have my elf the ones the squeezy tubes. Remember that came with the metal tip maybe it was a plastic tip but I still have them I figure I’m down to the last one it’s in a squeezy tube so I am using it and it’s sealed it has no foul smell so again another project to pan.
Great thorough video Jen!!!
When you were doing the foundation try-ons, your brows looked perfection. Was it a new brow product or just a good brow day? Looks amazing 💕
Thank you! My brows always look better when I can do them off camera instead of in my little mirror in front of the camera. 😂 But also I've been using the new LA Girl brow pen and loving it so much! It has super fine tip.
I remember the dual ended shadow sticks! I want to say they were from Revlon.
I love love the makeup forever foundation ❤ I am 48 and looks amazing on me .. I am glad I bought it however I only got the mini I may now have to buy the big one .. will save for the big Sephora sale ❤
Great video Jen. ❤ gotta try some of the new lip oils. Always here for your vids.
ooh I didn't realize the ELF lip balms have a bit of color! I'll have to check them out, I think they'd be so pretty over colored lip liners
Thanks, Jen! How would you compare the MUFE with the Haus Labs foundation?
It's much more hydrating and feels more like a skin cream than a foundation. It has a similar level of coverage though!
I am excited to purchase the MUF hydra glow foundation! I think it may be my dry skin holy grail!
Hi Jen! Do you mind telling me what foundation brush you used when you applied the foundations in this video? I enjoy your videos and I try not to miss any. 💕
Sure it was the BK Beauty x Nikki La Rose brush. 🥰
@@JenPhelps thank you!
Great video format, thank you!
Hi
I am always confused about the steps for skin care what is first serum , moisturizer, primer
My skin is very, very dry . I don't use night cream I know I should but are so many brands that i don't know which one to use
Thank you in advance for your help
Aww thank you so much for your comment...it really makes my day! :)
Thanks for this video jen, i love dupes
Thanks for a Sunday video 😊❤
Thanks Jen! This was a great relaxing Sunday comparitive to watch. I would like to try the Undone Beauty Water Tints, my concern is, if you don't use them for a while do they dry up?💚
Mine haven't but I also keep the little plastic insert cap on mine underneath the regular cap. I think that helps!
@@JenPhelps Thanks, I will keep that in mind.
I ordered the mini HD foundation this AM and picking up one of the Tower 28 lip balms today. The Dulce de Leche looks so good! The comparisons you do are very helpful.
It smells so incredible!!
Thanks sweet Jenn!❤
I remember those Maybelline ones. The "color strike creme to powder" sticks. They only had the sponge on one side so they were basically eyeshadow sticks, just with a not-so-good delivery system. It always felt like you didn't get enough product on the sponge bc the eyeshadow was in the cap that covered your sponge. Hope that makes sense.
YES!! That's what they were called...thank you!
I appreciate you giving us dupes. I could never afford the others. Thank you so much.
