The car is perfect. That bullet proof engine will go anywhere. I had a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria Police interceptor that went over 222,000 miles with no problem. Went down to NC back to Va every other week. Never left me stranded.

I been looking for a marauder, the research says the price has been spiking one in pristine condition can go between 25 and 35 thousand most I seen on carguru are in the 15000 range, so I think you got a hell of a deal!! Congratulations from Tulsa!

Hey, very nice addition to the family Randy. I too am in a bad point in my life and as other channel member have said, it's awesome to see you as happy as you are. This channel is keeping me uplifted and I too plan to go that much further on my project Town Car.. Thanks for all you do.

Glad everyone seems to think it was a good deal. I paid 8000 for mine. But in Canadian dollars so about the same. Mine was pretty perfect until my son scuffed up the front bumper. I took it to a Maaco and it looks like new again. These cars are keepers

Oh, no doubt. Every taxi in Atlantic City was a big Ford with a half million miles. Oh, and thanks for the great content! Your 'realness' makes for great videos that I look forward to. Much more relatable than kids in L.A. with leased Ferraris. Well done! BTW, it will take more than a quick blow over to fix that paint. When you've got cracking like that (I had it on my Jaguar, same era) that's got to go down to BARE METAL.

you need to finish that house on 1 acre and and I have my doubts about that one too as its too far away for you to run a wholesale dealership unless the smart plan would be move into the place hey Randy just my older man's thoughts is all . I do enjoy the enthusiasm

I almost bought one of those Marauder's when they first came out, not sure now why I did not. Plus I live in Florida so I know how nice it is here. Good luck on the dealership and I believe the car should have no problems. Good deal on the car.

I almost bought one too, back in 2005. It was a new left over '03 that the dealer had for 18 months. In the end, my insurance was going to double since my son had just gotten his license, so I passed.

I came very close to buying one as well. I am glad I didn’t die to the massive depreciation that hit them, but I have strongly considered picking one up in recent years. It’s just had to find a unmolested, serviceable, one for the right price, these days.

I've always wanted the last version of the Mercury Marauder. The first thing, if you're going to keep it and if I remember correctly. Replace the fake oil pressure gauge. It's basically a light that looks like a gauge. It goes to the same reading no matter what the engine speed is.

Here’s an interesting story for you, Randy. The Florida Highway Patrol actually owned a fleet of a Marauders back when they were new.
Some anonymous wealthy person donated quite a few of them to the FHP, they were kept very stealth with the lights hidden inside the car. I remember seeing one of the red ones and I believe a silver one in my area frequently back then.
    Here’s an article about them:
    www.flhsmv.gov/florida-highway-patrol/about-fhp/history/photostorygallery/pg2004/fhp-unveils-latest-stealth-vehicle/
I thought you might find this interesting since you also own a regular P71 Crown Vic. Even though better known for it, the P71s weren’t the only Panthers on patrol duty.
I hope you enjoy your new Marauder. It’s absolutely beautiful and I am so happy for you that you were able to get it!
I ‘d love to see you try to get your hands on a silver and red one to complete the set. That would be very, very cool. If you could get one of the decommissioned X-FHP ones, that would be even cooler!

FHP has had some sweet cars. The Foxbody mustangs and the Camaros were always my favorites. I believe Seminole County had a couple of newer Mustangs with Coyote motors. So cool.

Had a 2004 Maurader the black paint went bad while under warranty. Ford repainted hood, roof and trunk. Dealers don’t always know how to do things. I wanted the tires rotated. They put the rears on front and fronts on rear...I noticed it right away and made them do it correctly (side to side because rears are taller than fronts). Almost came to blows with the tire guy. I retired soon after that and traded it for an HHR. Had the HHR for 15 years...just gave it to a guy in need yesterday.

I couldn’t believe what I saw at 1:05 That’s pretty much the same exact Ford Explorer that I drive to school! Same color, Eddie Bauer edition. Mine has the 5.0 V8 in it, hard to tell if the one from the video does or not, but it’s gotta be anywhere from a 1999-2001 model. Mine’s a 2000. Sorry for the rant I just got excited when I saw it because I pretty much drive the same truck. Anyways, I think the Marauder is awesome! Can’t wait for more content! Even if it has paint issues, it’s better than rust.

I bought my 2005 Nissan Sentra with 217k miles on Iowa and drove it all the way down to Miami Florida and the only issue it had was holes on the fuel line do to rust, I did repair it as I show on one of my TH-cam videos, good luck on your trip.

Think you got a good deal. Have you considered asking Weird Beard to put on a quality paint job? Those crows feet on the hood and roof I would suggest going down to bare metal rather than just a 600 grit sand and sealer . I see it had an overheating problem. Check the thermostat make sure it isn’t stuck and possibly the water pump. Hopefully you shut it down pretty quickly and it didn’t run hot for too long !

Lived there in Florida but got tired of the humidity, mosquitos, storms, fire ants, snakes coming in on cool nights into your house or getting into the engine bay where its warm.nice place ro visit.
On the scuffed up on your trunk lid I believe the Marauder Emblem was there.

  • @guruoo
    @guruoo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

You did OK on the price, considering that it came from a private seller. There's tricks you can use to raise the MPG without losing performance. Improved exhaust, cold air kit, and remapping the ECU should improve that all the way around. If it were mine, I'd also tighten up the handling and steering by swapping for nylon bushings, and some fresh shocks. I'd also de-chrome it, but that's just because I prefer that low profile style. Ya done good, dude. Keep 'em coming.

A running, driving, dealer serviced Marauder with only some paint and leather issues for under $10k.. I am gonna go with that that is a good buy. These seem to be coming back up a bit lately and honestly, it’s the coolest thing Ford built in that era, imo.
Well bought... as long as there isn’t something hiding underneath that you are unaware of.

This is basically the sport's version of the grand marquis. I can tell you this much my parents had 2 of them which both Used to belong to my grandmother. They were a 1996 and a 2000 model years. As long as you take good care of these keep the oil changed keep the fluids top job they will last you at least 250,000 miles or more. And yes it will definitely make it to Oklahoma from Florida easily have a safe trip

I love the content but I think you should stick around Florida for a couple of days at least and make some Florida videos. Go to a Florida junkyard and let us know if they are better than the rust bucket yards of the Northeast. Visit a Copart down there and do a little juxtaposing on that one versus the one you go to in Oklahoma. Take your women to a hot Cuban night spot in Miami. I for one feel that you could do content that isn't necessarily all about cars. Randy goes to India would be great content. . . especially if you were rebuilding a Tata and went to India junkyards. There's no end to the possibilities when you have a personality that is fun to watch. Did you pay too much for the Mercury? Who cares!!! Any time you go on a road trip is fun for us. Great stuff as always.

Congrats on the new Marauder, Randy. You really look good in that car. I really hope you decide to keep it.
I’m glad you’re enjoying Florida. I live in the Tampa area myself but I absolutely love the east coast. If you get a chance, there are some beautiful lighthouses over there that you can actually climb to the top of and that’s a lot of fun. Ponce Inlet and St Augustine lights are probably on the way back for you. Also, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is another very cool place to visit over there as is the city of St Augustine.
PLEASE don’t take the Marauder to Maaco for paint. Granted, they do a decent job but this car is special and I’d say it’s going to be extremely collectible if it isn’t already. This car deserves a Weird Beard paint job. The car is far too nice and far too special to let Maaco do the paint job on it. In my opinion, if you spend a little more paying Mike to do the job right with a great quality paint, the car will end up being way more valuable.
By the way, in case you’re interested, there are actually two 2003 Marauders at Copart right now. They’re not nearly as nice as yours but might make for a fun project and great content.

6700 is a bit much. It should have been closer to 6000. It needs a solid 1000 in paint work. It should make it to Oklahoma though!

Would love to see it back to its prime days. Hold on to it for a minute.. It’s a fair price. It’s a true survivor and can be more beastly with some pipes. 👍👍
