Same here. Except I bought the FWD as I live in the deep south.
How is it in the snow?
I'm a Toyota fanboy, but I'll be going for a Kona SEL this year.

I bought mine back in October 31 having a blast with her so far. Really good on gas not bad in deep snow plus she is FWD.

That’s what I try to do on this channel. Go through all the trim levels from base to loaded! Most don’t do it, and I don’t understand why

I bought the 2024 Kona SEL AWD back in December. I have had Hyundai vehicles since 2010 and have enjoyed them all. I am by myself now and for one person and her dog the size is perfect. I love the way it handles and the ride. Your video confirmed that I made the right choice for me. Thanks

If you live in snowy conditions get the AWD. It’s unbelievably reliable. With downhill mode and snow mode you are perfectly safe and in control. This car is probably best in class and price range. Already put a deposit down after test drive. Can’t wait.

Bought this yesterday. Went from a 2016 Elantra GT. Let’s just say I was a little overwhelmed. But overall I’m getting used to all the niceties 😂

I like all but the black cladding. There's one in that color here locally, but I can't bring myself to get rid of my Velo.
I have the SEL FWD model. No convenience package, and when I initially setup CarPlay I did indeed need the data cable plugged in. But afterwards it is a totally wireless connection. No cable needed.
So you just have to plug it in once?

That could be content for a follow up video concerning CarPlay connection. Once you verify it for yourself of course. It is hard to believe that Hyundai would put wireless connect in a $26,000 Elantra ( my 22 Elantra, totaled in accident) but not in a $30,000 suv crossover.

am curious if you find the base engine underwhelming or just adequate (taking into consideration the size and weight of the Kona)
Just bought 2024 Kona and it came with all those add ons like the first aid kit, floor mats, mesh etc . My question is could I have told the dealer I don’t want those and would they have discounted those add ons?

30:38 We leased a Mirage Green SEL 5 days ago and we are loving it. We are over 80 and feel the SEL is a great car for seniors. I have a troublesome back and it has been easy getting in and out of the Kona. Features like the power adjustable driver and passenger seats add to the convenience and comfort.
I tested a new Kona SEL with the 2.0 and it is one of the slowest cars I have driven. Maybe of it had a normal 8-speed transmission in it I might like it better.
you can connect to android auto or apple carplay via bluetooth

Had a guy in a Ford Raptor laugh. I laughed back and said i bought this , 22 acres and a trip to Thailand for 3 weeks for the price he paid for his truck. 😂 And it gets me to the same destination.
Test drove a Kona, loved the big shifter next to the window wiper. but the middle console for the Sel conveniences package was smaller than I expected. Is it also normal for it to have a 1 second delay when pressing the gas peddle? This kinda push me away 😮💨 test drove the Honda HRV and was more responsive and normal for my everyday drive. But it doesn’t have what I like neither 😩

I personally prefer the buick you did before this. The transmission and color of this just isn't doing it for me. The interior is cool though. I like the storage.

I think it’s super cool looking. My concern is Kia / Hyundai supposedly being easy to hack into and drive off. Is this true? Also if you’re going to spend $31000 you might as well get a Jeep. It does look cool tho.
This is true for keyed versions without engine immobilization. The newer versions, including this Kona are keyless start with engine immobilization. Therefore, these aren’t the targets that the older models are.
