Excellent video about using tge t18 toner. Beautiful results. Just bleached mine to pale gold, sittin with deep conditioner with cap for an hour then rinse and apply the t18. Hopefully it will be the color of yours!!

If your hair after bleaching is an orange tone, you use wella T14 (blue base). If your hair is more of a yellow tone after bleaching, use wella T18 (purple/violet base). If you put T14 on yellow hair, it will turn slightly green.

I've been working with a rep at Sally beauty. cuz my natural is dark brown about level 2. so lifting it to 10 and than using the T18 is a lot of processing. it's been taking me 6 weeks bleaching it once a week except the last one had a 2 week rest. so I bleached it 5 times. and my first and I'm hoping only round of T18 is in now. and once it's white/grey/whatever I can dye it lavender. can't wait.

Alexis HI right? He’s not off. I’m on my 5th bleaching as well. I started from dark brown hair and it didn’t help that my hair was previously dyed a year before from the bottom half. I’m on golden hair now. I do it every 2 weeks and my hair isn’t burned or anything cuz I condition. Very awkward stage though

    • @sonixj1220
      @sonixj1220 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I’m only dying the front part of my hair like my bangs and a little above that so I’m on my 3rd bleach and I wait about a week to rest . I don’t mind the wait :) cus i know the end is gonna look amazing. can’t wait either .

I know this is old, but the lightest is T-10. It used to be called Ivory Lady. When Wella changed all the names, people thought they lost the holy grail and then thanks / no thanks to TH-cam people thought T-18 was the next best thing. Ivory Lady is still made under the #T-10 that will give you the best results

if your hair is very porous, use it on damp hair. The water helps to fill the gaps and gives a more even result.

@@summerangelmartinez5344 That's because when hairstylists tone hair after bleaching they are usually in a hurry and do it on damp hair since they don't have enough time to dry the hair. If you tone damp hair it will not be even in some places and it will dilute the product.

I left it on for 15 minutes😭 deposited but didn't really lift😭 i get nervous that my hairs going to crinkle off if I leave the toner w/developer in to long! So I start panicking and take it out😂 But I'll do a strand test for sure!!! Got have that (ICY WHITE HAIR)❄️

Erick Cameron i know your comment is like really old buut imma answer haha, um toners don't lift. It just deposits color that counteract brassy tones so they turn pale or something- whichever kind of toner u get hehe

Alise Actually this toner does. Toner tones the hair. You're talking about a deposit only toner, or a demi/semi permanent color used to correct lightened hair in this case. This toner is basically a permanent color. It actually does lift about 2 levels, 3 if you use 30 vol but that's not recommended. When you're using peroxide developer and a permanent color it's important to leave it on for the full amount of time otherwise the developer will not fully react with the color and your hair, which can cause patchiness or for it to just not develop at all. "Toner" can in fact lift depending on what you use. Toner is just something you use to correct hair color.

Heather Alexandria really, I don't know but my research says otherwise. And the place I get my toners from always tells me to lighten my hair to the lightest possible before toning, otherwise it won't do much.
      Here's also something from Google:
"Toners alter the undertone of a hair color, but do not lift the shade. This is why they are meant to be applied on bleached or blonde hair and will not work on darker hair. Toner can help you manipulate the shade of your blonde hair to make it look cooler, dingier, ashier, or even different colors like pink or purple." "Toner is very low volume hair color that deposits pigment or 'tone' to hair without really changing the level of the hair. Put simply, it corrects the tone of the hair without lightening or darkening the hair at all."
      Eitherway, I'm not a professional.

Alise I'm a licensed hairstylist. Toner is a catch all label for anything we use the tone hair. In general we use a deposit only color that doesn't lift to correct undertones in the hair. But you can use anything that deposits color. The main reason why people use deposit only, no loft color to tone is that it's mainly used for highlights. If you use a permanent color on highlights you'll alter the color of the hair that wasn't highlighted. I use this toner on my hair rn. Watching this video for the same reason I watch any tutorial really, just to like enjoy the process. On me, it lifts my heavily yellow level 8 maybe 9 hair after lightning from like a 3, and pulls me up to like a true platinum level 10+. The lift highly depends on the porosity, the developer, how dark the hair is when you use it, and any residual color from previous services.

Heather Alexandria oh alright, but isn't it just making an illusion that the hair is actually lifted because it makes warm tones cooler? (I don't know) i have the same toner right now, but i havent used it since I'm waiting for a week before I bleach again then finally tone. I'm still unsure what level my hair should be before I tone it so I'm watching tutorials and researching, so thanks for the info.

Wait, mine goes straight from white to purple when I mix the toner. But, every time I use the t18 with 20 it barely does anything, so my hair is like a standard yellowish blonde, so like a pale blonde. but not like champagne so im thinking 10 will get me to my desired white, or even gray. Like im totally okay with either.

Honestly it depends on ethnic. In African American and it didn’t do that for me. It kept it ash brown so I had to bleach it again.

Ah yes, I apologize if it seemed like a one size fits all video! I really was mostly just posting about what I personally did/what my experience was. I know going forward when I make new videos I'll bring this up from the beginning (my hair texture, level, etc and say that what I'm doing applies to that only really). I hope your hair is looking amazing now!

Ik this was 2 yrs ago but im desperate. I bleached my brown roots to a yellow blonde..rest of my hair is blonde....followed your steps exactly and pretty much just my end picked up the toner...i mean my roots did too but not as good. Should i just try the 10 developer and t18 to just deposit the t18 orrrr should i do t18 and 30 developer?? I did the 20 and t18 twice...2nd time turned out better than the 1st...but not even close to wear i wanna be.
Thanks to any help you can provide

Question... you did this one dry hair. I have very porous hair and it soaks up anything I put in it. Is your hair like that as well? I sometimes use my purple shampoo on my dry hair and it eats it. Like my ends will be completely purple. I just want to know your texture so I can figure out the best method for myself. I'm so tired of messing it up and fixing it. Lol thanks so much! Btw your hair is fabulous and it did have a tad yellow to it. It's hard being a blonde! Lol liked and subscribed!

Ok so straight up, this video is so old so I'm basing this on memory -- buuuut at the time my hair was very brittle, dry (I'm a level 6 brunette naturally) and it did the same. I think anything dry absorbs more, so I found if I applied at the roots first and then waited and pulled it through to the bottom only for a little bit at the end it helped me avoid what you're talking about. As far as my texture, I have fine hair but a lot of it. So the actual hair strands are very fine and have a slight wave. Thanks for subscribing! I'm going back to blonde as soon as it's safe (shoutout to covid) and I'm going to document that whole process.
