I owned 2 of these full scale, on 36" and 38" swampers. Along with pickup trucks with the same late 80's body, and one 94' body. So I must say that this is 110% accurate as far as a body goes, and I think that this will be my next rc crawler build. I love these trucks, as long as i don't have to climb into one. I'm 6'2" 250lb dude, and one day I got tired of getting hit on the left side of my head off-roading toyotas, and got rid of them all. But I miss them. Don't get me wrong, they are great off road vehicles, unless you are a larger fella. Then, after a decade or so running them, you learn to hate riding Toyotas. But I still want a Yota, as long as I dont have to climb into one to off road it. Best part is, you are your own spotter. LOL
Make the rear bumper and roofracks out of wooden popsicle sticks and attach the bumper only to the back gate. you could go crazy and make sliders and skid plates too. Paint them whatever color.
Looks absolutely wicked Brother! Great work on the build, she reminds me of the '88 I once owned, put 765,000 miles on it & she was still running strong when I sold her. These days I look back & honestly, selling my 4Runner was one of the bigger mistakes I've made in my life. But hindsight's 20/20 yeah. Thanks for sharing an impressive build with us.
You did a awesome job on the body and it looks just killer running around in the yard. This one you will have to get some more running videos of it ! Looks to good to be in doors.
Killer build man! Takes me back. Used to have a jet black '87. Loved that thing. Then my cousin drove her car into the side of it.... Needless to say, I no longer speak to that cousin lol Great work!
I think a tube style bumper that follows the rocker from either side but bending downward the length of the tailgate would look awesome but that length in roundbar would have to be super strong or doubling up so it doesn't bend upward on impact. I'm sure you'll come up with something pretty cool, but it honestly looks great as is! I wanted the blazer body so bad but now I'm struggling with that decision lol!
AWESOME truck!!! Love the style and yes !!!!you should get the license plate from SRDLV they are awesome and they hardly scratch off!!!! Love SRDLV!!! #teamSRD BABY!!!!
Very scale looking rig. Got a Redcat Gen8 yesterday. It's pretty sweet out of the box ,just gotta dial it in and start adding some accessories. Cheers!
great looking build! just as an fyi, you mentioned that the back window recessed into the tailgate as opposed to the blazer, but the blazer is of the same design irl. not sure why they gave it a flip up window and then did it more correct on this body. possibly they got some feedback on the gate windows.
great video brother!!! my tf2 has been apart now for a few months getting ready for a cleaning and rebuild, and man I gotta tell ya, this body is pretty damn sweet!!!! right about this time last year I did up a fresh hilux body and its still in pretty decent shape but, after seeing this new body I think its time I get one;)
Man that came out awesome. I love the old yotas but I'm really a Ford guy through and through (I know your not😁) I wish RC4WD would come out with some Ford hard bodies.
Door alignment issues on a real 4x4? Naw, you NEVER have door alignment problems on real off-road vechicles. I have this bridge for sale..... Excellent video as usual.
Looks awesome man! So does this body use the same tf2 Hilux body mounts? I know you touched on the fact that you were using different mounts but is the geometry the same?
It has a similar mounting system to the blazer body with the plastic side bars, but does not use body posts on the rear at all. Comes with narrow side mounts and the end pieces have body clips. But the holes line up with the existing mounts on the side.
Wow that looks amazing. Shows as preorder on their site so it sounds like you're pretty lucky to have one. Not cheap but man does it look good! Can you tell me how wide the grill is from end to end? I'm trying to find one to fit my proline Hilux body with light buckets and everything.
It is 7.5 inches end to end. It may be a while before parts for this are available separately. Have you checked out RCnerds and knight customs shapeways store? I think there is already a ton of 3d printed stuff for that body.
@@RCeveryday Thanks. Yea I saw the stuff on shapeways but I feel like the quality would be better from a kit. Don't think it will work since my Hilux body is about 7" wide in the front. Not sure if the TF2 stuff would work but all those parts look like nice quality. I just want to stick with square headlight lenses. If I have to I may end up going 3d printed but wanted to explore other options first. I used the roll bar from the Marlin Crawler body and it fits nice with minor modifications.

Another awesome build. Keep up the great work, love those angles slow motion.

You have a great body, Ayooo!
Great Build 🤟🏾
Looks great awesome work!!!!💪😍
It is a cool lookin little rig. Kind of looks like a high school kid got someone's old 4 Runner and slapped some bigger tires on it.
Man that came out awesome. I love the old yotas but I'm really a Ford guy through and through (I know your not😁) I wish RC4WD would come out with some Ford hard bodies.
cool video
Great job man! Not a fan of the doors either. Need some battle scars now and all will be good.
Buy the rc4wd metal hinges and set it i will do the same,we always can manage ourselves to make it work
Needs “pizza planet” magnets for the doors and a lil buzz light year in the front seat
Can you please tell me what’s the biggest tire I can fit on the 4Runner with out it rubbing on the body

@@toddsimone7182 Man I dont know. It would be a stretch. Ive got entire bodies that are 3d printed, shapeways makes some good stuff.
Nice project bud, what chassis did you used to fit this beautiful body? Thanks I appreciated
It’s on the Rc4wd trailfinder2
Nice build! Where did you get your wheels from?
They are from gcmracing
Needs some gen1 style graphics
Beauty :)
Instead of cutting that split how bout a shallow split then cut the window to where you want it
That's an '87 with a SAS
Get rid of the windows
I put my wraith axles onto my SCX10 2 so I'm standin pretty wide with 25mm wheel widener
TOYOTA 4X4 LIFE! imma get that 4 my SCX10
I ordered,RC4WD for the 2018 4RUNNER next?!!
